Chapter 301

Penelope stormed up, ready to tear into Gianna, but then she spotted Felix nearby. Her rage vanished in a flash, and she sauntered over with a grin.

"Felix, what brings you here?" she asked, all smiles.

Felix shot her a frosty look. "What did you just say to her?"

Penelope's smile faltered. "Nothing, really."

But Felix wasn't buying it. His eyes were ice-cold. "Penelope, from day one, I told you not to mess with her. Did you think I was joking?"

"Felix, it's not like that," Penelope stammered. "I just bumped into Miss Redstone in the restroom and said hi."

Felix didn't even bother responding. He just turned and started to walk away.

Panicking, Penelope tried to follow, but a bodyguard blocked her path.

"Miss Clifford, please behave," the bodyguard said firmly.

Penelope's face twisted with fury. "Get out of my way! You're just a bodyguard. Who do you think you are?"

Felix turned back, his voice colder than ever. "It's over between us. I don't want to see you again."

"What?" Penelope's face went pale, shock and disbelief written all over it.

All she did was warn Gianna, and now Felix wanted to dump her? What about all the sweet moments they shared?

"Felix! I don't agree to break up! We were even talking about getting married. Just because I warned Gianna to stay away from you, you want to end it?" she fumed.

Felix's expression didn't change. "When you talked about marriage, I never agreed. And you had your parents spread rumors in Dawnridge that I proposed to you by the sea. Did you think I didn't know?"

He had let her do as she pleased because he simply didn't care.

"Didn't you tacitly agree?" Penelope pressed.

Felix had enough. "Take her away," he ordered coldly.

"No! Felix, I don't want to leave. I don't want to break up. Please! I promise I'll never bother Miss Redstone again. Just forgive me this once!" Penelope pleaded.

But Felix didn't even flinch. He didn't look back, not once.

The bodyguard dragged Penelope out of the restaurant. "Miss Clifford, please leave immediately."

Penelope struggled. "No! Let me in. I need to talk to Felix. Move!"

The bodyguard, clearly fed up, sneered. "Do you really think you have a chance to see Mr. Clinton again? If you had behaved and not messed with Miss Redstone, maybe Mr. Clinton would have kept you around. But now, after offending her, do you think Mr. Clinton will let you off?"

Penelope stood there, stunned. "Didn't he already break up with Gianna? He was so good to me lately."

The bodyguard laughed. "Can't you see? Mr. Clinton was just using you to make Miss Redstone jealous. You really thought he had fallen for you?"

"Impossible! He likes me," Penelope insisted.

But then she remembered. Before they got together, Felix had told her he could give her everything except love.

She had forgotten those words because he had been so good to her recently.

Now she realized she was just a pawn to make Gianna jealous.

Seeing the despair on Penelope's face, the bodyguard knew she finally understood. Felix never loved her. He turned and walked away.

Inside the restaurant, Gianna and Faith finished their dinner and, after a bit of rest, got up to leave.

As they hit the door, they bumped into Felix. "Don't sweat what she said at the restroom earlier," he said.

Gianna's face was stone-cold. "If Mr. Clinton is apologizing for your girlfriend's nonsense, then I accept."

Felix's eyes chilled, but he quickly masked it with a smile. "Alright, I won't keep you two any longer."

After he left, Faith couldn't help but glance at Gianna and whisper, "Gianna, are you still hung up on him?"

"How could I be?" Gianna chuckled.

"When he talked to you just now, you tensed up for a sec," Faith pointed out.

Gianna bit her lip and looked down, staying silent.

Faith sighed. "Gianna, if you still have feelings for him, maybe you should give him another shot."

Faith had seen their drama unfold for years and knew Felix had a special place in Gianna's heart.

Gianna didn't answer that, just smiled. "Didn't you want to go shopping? Let's go."

The whole evening, Gianna seemed a bit out of it.

When she got home, she was about to take a bath and chill when she got a call from Raymond.

"Gianna, you still up?" Raymond asked.

Gianna walked to the balcony with her phone, her face blank. "Yeah, what's up?"

Raymond said, "My grandpa wants to meet you tomorrow. Can you come over for dinner?"

Gianna pursed her lips. She and Raymond had been faking a relationship for over half a month now, and it was getting too real for comfort.

"Mr. Musk, let me think about it," Gianna replied.

Raymond nodded. "Alright, just let me know by noon tomorrow."

After hanging up, Gianna went back to her room, took a bath, read a bit, and then hit the sack.

In the middle of the night, the sound of rain woke her up.

She remembered the kitchen window was open, so she got up and went downstairs.

As she was about to close the window, she froze.

Through the rain, she saw a black car parked at the villa's entrance.

Even with the lights off, she just knew it was Felix.

Her fingers turned white gripping the window handle. She took a deep breath, looked away, closed the window, and went back upstairs.

She lay back in bed but couldn't sleep, tossing and turning.

She got up and walked to the window, saw the car still there, and felt a surge of irritation.

He was with another woman, so why was he at her place in the middle of the night?

After watching for a bit, Gianna angrily drew the curtains. Out of sight, out of mind.

The next morning, when she got up, she instinctively looked out the window, and Felix's car was gone.

Gianna washed up, had breakfast, and drove to work.

As she passed the security booth, the guard looked worried. "Miss Redstone, your husband has been coming and going early and late recently. Did you two have a fight?"

Gianna frowned and instinctively asked, "Has he been coming here every day?"

The guard nodded. "Yeah, he didn't come for a few days, but other times he shows up around midnight and leaves around six in the morning."

After a moment of silence, Gianna said, "We've broken up. If you see him again, don't let him in."

The guard was stunned, then got serious. "Alright, I understand. I'll have two colleagues patrol around your villa daily."

Realizing the guard thought Felix was a stalker, Gianna smiled. "No need for that. He won't harm me."
