Chapter 285

Seeing Gianna's flushed face, Felix couldn't help but smirk.

"Gianna, you promised me this, no backing out now," Felix said, his tall frame already closing the distance between them.

Gianna saw the hunger in his eyes and instinctively took a step back. Before she could say anything, Felix scooped her up and headed downstairs.

"Ah!" Gianna yelped, her arms wrapping around his neck as her shawl slipped off.

Felix glanced down, his body tensing up. The V-neck slip dress hugged Gianna's curves, teasingly revealing just enough to make his blood boil.

Taking a deep breath, Felix's grip on her tightened. "I suddenly lost my appetite," he murmured.

Gianna, catching the drift, quickly said, "But I'm starving. Let's eat."

Seeing the refusal in her eyes, Felix looked a bit disappointed but nodded. "Alright."

He carried her to the dining table, setting her down and sitting next to her, his eyes still full of that predatory gleam.

Gianna felt so uncomfortable under his gaze that she almost lost her appetite.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, she looked at Felix and said, "Remember, I only agreed to wear this dress for dinner, nothing more!"

Felix's eyes burned with intensity, and Gianna quickly looked away. "I know, I won't push you," he said.

Relieved, Gianna finally started eating. Felix barely touched his food, mostly serving her, his heated gaze never leaving her.

Gianna finished her meal, her face flushed. Felix asked, "Done eating?"

Gianna nodded, "Yeah."

Felix grinned, "Then it's my turn."

"What?" Gianna asked, confused.

Before she could react, Felix grabbed the back of her head and kissed her.

Gianna tried to pull away, but his other hand gripped her waist, the heat from his palm seeping through the thin fabric, making her feel like she was on fire.

His kiss was urgent and fierce, and Gianna felt herself melting into him.

Her hands unconsciously climbed up to his neck, the heat between them rising.

Gianna's mind grew hazy until a hot hand covered her chest, making her body tremble.

Feeling his body tense, his eyes burning with desire, Gianna smiled. "Carry me to the bedroom."

Felix lifted her up, kissing her passionately as he carried her upstairs.

Gianna clung to his shirt, her body soft and pliant.

In the bedroom, Felix gently laid her on the bed, quickly shedding his suit and covering her.

As he kissed her, his hands roamed, and Gianna let out a series of passionate sounds.

Felix pulled aside the straps of her dress, revealing her fair, jade-like skin, his breathing growing heavier.

Just as things were heating up, a phone rang nearby.

Felix ignored it, but Gianna pushed him. "Answer the phone first," she said.

Felix shook his head, "Ignore it."

Gianna insisted, "What if it's urgent?"

She reached for the phone on the cabinet and handed it to him, her voice still husky with passion. "It's not urgent for a few minutes."

Felix took the phone, his eyes dark with desire. "I'll make you understand later whether a few minutes matter."

He got out of bed to answer the call, and whatever was said on the other end made his face turn grim.

After hanging up, he turned to Gianna, "Gianna, there's an emergency at the company. I need to handle it. Wait for me to come back!"

Gianna slowly sat up, holding the blanket, and looked at him, "Okay."

Seeing her like this, Felix stepped forward, grabbed the back of her head, and kissed her hard. He put on his clothes and left.

Felix was gone all night, and when Gianna came downstairs the next morning, he had just returned, his eyes dark with fatigue. Clearly, he didn't sleep all night.

Seeing his grim face, Gianna couldn't help but ask, "Is it serious?"

Felix shook his head, "No, it's been handled."

Gianna replied, "Good, you didn't sleep all night. Go rest."

Felix said, "Okay, call me if you need anything."

Gianna nodded, "Alright."

It was Sunday, and Molly wasn't coming to cook.

After Felix went back to the bedroom, Gianna thought for a while and decided to make some porridge and a few small dishes for lunch.

He hadn't slept all night, so porridge would be the best for lunch.

At noon, just as Gianna finished cooking the porridge and was about to call Felix to eat, he hurriedly came downstairs.

Felix said, "Gianna, I need to go to the company. Don't wait for me for lunch."

He left quickly without waiting for Gianna's response.

Gianna looked down at the pot of porridge, suddenly losing her appetite.

After leaving Tranquil Haven Estate, Felix drove straight to the Clinton Group.

James was already waiting in the office and handed Felix a document as soon as he saw him.

James said, "Mr. Clinton, according to our information, NightShadow is likely connected to the Forbes family of Thundertop."

Felix took the document, and after reading it, his expression turned icy.

Felix replied, "Keep investigating, but don't act rashly."

the Forbes family was one of the eight major families in Thundertop, the strongest among them, and not much weaker than the weakest of the four great families, the Carnegie family.

Moreover, the Forbes family had strong connections with other familied in Thundertop, making it difficult to move against them.

But since they dared to covet the Clinton family's key, they had to be prepared for the consequences.

After giving these instructions, Felix asked, "By the way, the champagne roses I asked you to airship, are they not here yet?"

Now that the Clinton Group's situation had stabilized, he was planning to propose to Gianna soon.

James quickly replied, "There was a heavy rain in DamaScene recently, causing many champagne roses to be damaged. It will take a few more days to get them."

Felix nodded, "Alright, as soon as possible. How about the custom-made ring?"

James replied, "It will also arrive in a few days. I'll put it on your desk when it does."

Felix nodded, "Okay, get back to work."

After James left, Felix picked up the document again, his face dark and grim.

When Amara called, Gianna was just putting the porridge into the fridge to chill.

Amara asked, "Gianna, what are you doing now? I want to look at that patient's examination report. Do you have time to go to the hospital with me?"
