Chapter 30
<Chapter> Chapter Thirty: Urgent Situation</Chapter>
For a brief moment, a glint appeared in Gianna's eyes. She pressed her lips together tightly but ultimately chose not to say the word "divorce."
After the incident, neither of them had an appetite; they went directly back to the villa.
Entering the living room, Gianna said to Felix, "I’ m thinking of making some noodles. Do you want some?
I can help you."
"No need. Just wait for me."
Gianna collected fresh ingredients that were regularly kept by the housekeeper—scallions, greens, a few eggs, and noodles—and went into the kitchen.
First, she fried the eggs. Once done, she set them aside, added water to the pot, and brought it to a boil before adding the noodles.
As the noodles cooked, she blanched the greens in the same pot and prepared the seasoning in bowls. With the noodles almost done, she skillfully drained them, placed the fried eggs on top, sprinkled them with chopped scallions, poured the soup over, and just like that, two bowls of egg and greens noodles were ready.
Gianna took the bowls from the kitchen, but Felix wasn't around.
Heading towards the study, she reached the door just in time to hear Felix's icy voice on the phone, "Keep this under wraps for now. Don't let anyone find out."
After hanging up, Felix turned to see Gianna at the doorway. "The noodles are ready. Come and eat."
Felix put his phone away and joined Gianna at the dining table.
They sat across from each other. As Gianna began to eat her noodles, she did so quietly.
"Don’ t you have anything you want to ask me?" Felix broke the silence.
Gianna stopped eating, glanced up, and responded. "If you want to talk, you'll tell me without me asking. And if you don’t want to talk, asking won't do any good."
"I'm open to your questions—as much as I can share, I will tell you."
Looking into Felix's sincere eyes, Gianna remained quiet for a moment before speaking calmly. "Let's eat for now. The noodles won’t taste good when they turn soggy."
After they finished eating, when Gianna stood up, Felix took the bowl from her hand, saying, "I’ll wash up."
Gianna didn't protest; instead, she turned and headed upstairs to the bedroom.
The following day, Gianna was at the office bright and early. She had already tackled the pile of paperwork left over from the previous day by the time Faith came to see her.
"Gianna, we had scheduled a ten o'clock meeting this morning with the CEO of Sirius Trading Syndicate."
Gianna pursed her lips and looked at Faith. "You handle it. Whatever acquisition offer they throw at us, just don't agree to anything."
A flicker of surprise crossed Faith's eyes. Hadn't Gianna planned on meeting with Felix herself? Why the sudden change of heart?
However, Faith didn't insist further and simply nodded in understanding. "Got it."
"All right. These files have all been signed. Take them with you."
After Faith left, Gianna resumed her work, and before she realized it, it was already noon. She was just about to leave for lunch when Faith returned.
"Gianna, you wouldn't believe the offer Sirius Trading Syndicate made for MY FASHION. If my love for MY FASHION wasn't so deep, I might've caved into temptation and sold it just now."
Gianna raised an eyebrow. If Faith was considering it, then Sirius Trading Syndicate must have made a significant offer.
"How much?"
"One billion. Can you believe that?!"
Gianna frowned. Even if MY FASHION were up for sale, three hundred million would be the maximum price. So, why would Sirius Trading Syndicate offer three times the market value?
"Did you ask Felix why?"
Faith nodded, "I did, but he wouldn't say."
"Understood. If anyone from Sirius Trading Syndicate comes to discuss acquisition again, just reject them outright."
"Okay."
On their way back to Sirius Trading Syndicate, Sophia couldn't resist commenting, "Felix, our offer was already way above MY FASHION's value. It seems we can't push through with the acquisition."
Felix's gaze was frosty, and after a brief pause, he spoke, "Compile a list of all the apparel companies under the Sirius Trading Syndicate banner."
He had planned to purchase MY FASHION as a learning opportunity for Bella, but the MY FASHION team wasn't willing to negotiate, so he had to explore different possibilities.
"Sure thing, Felix."
Time passed quickly, and before Gianna realized it, Saturday had arrived—the day she was scheduled to have dinner at the Redstone family's historic home.
Getting dressed early in the morning, Gianna came downstairs to find Felix deeply focused on some documents on the couch. The sound of her footsteps prompted him to put away the papers and glance up at her quickly.
Today, she wore a fitted waist dress that highlighted her natural beauty—her makeup-free porcelain face and her hair styled in a casual bun. She exuded the lively energy of a college student, a sharp contrast to Felix's corporate, polished appearance.
Felix frowned slightly at her appearance, reached out, and removed the elastic band from her bun, letting her hair cascade down her back.
Gianna glared at him, clearly annoyed. "What are you doing? Give me my hair tie back!"
Felix casually tossed it into the trash can, his tone relaxed. "The bun doesn't suit you. You look better with your hair down."
Gianna was speechless. What did her looks have to do with him?
"Come on, we'll be late if we don't leave now."
Felix walked towards the door but noticed that Gianna hadn't followed. He turned back, his brow furrowing in confusion. "What are you daydreaming about?"
"Did my dad also invite you to the Redstone's dinner?" she asked.
"Yeah, is there a problem?"
Gianna paused for a few seconds, then calmly replied, "No, let's go."
It appeared Julian had made this decision without consulting her, knowing she would disapprove. It was evident he didn't value her opinion much.
An hour later, Felix's car pulled up in front of the Redstone estate.
Bella, aware of Felix's arrival, had been waiting at the door. Her expression didn't change at the sight of Gianna, whom she blatantly ignored.
"Felix, we've been waiting for you. Let me show you in," Bella said.
Felix, with an air of indifference, glanced at Gianna. "Let's go," he said.
Gianna was confused by Felix's behavior. It was clear he had feelings for Bella, so why was he now acting as if Gianna didn't matter? However, as Gianna remembered the pictures of Felix and Bella together, her expression turned cold.
The two of them entered the Redstone home, one after the other. As soon as they stepped into the living room, Old Mr. Redstone greeted them warmly.
"Felix and Gianna, welcome! Please, have a seat!"
Seeing Old Master Chi's face bloom into a chrysanthemum-like smile, Gianna coolly shifted her gaze away. They had summoned her back for a meal under false pretenses; their actual aim was for her to meet with Felix.
Fed up with pretending to be polite, Gianna said to Felix, “I'm going to take a stroll in the garden.”
No sooner had Gianna settled at the gazebo than Bella appeared before her.
"Gianna, don't think you've won just because you're Felix's wife now," Bella snapped, her voice laced with venom. "Felix still loves me in his heart!"
"Oh really?" Gianna raised an eyebrow, a hint of scorn flashing in her eyes. "But just now, at the doorstep, it seemed like he didn’t even give you a glance."
Bella's face flushed with anger, then retorted through gritted teeth, "That's because we've been arguing lately. We'll make up soon enough! Remember how , during Grandpa's birthday, the news about you hiring a male model blew up? Felix found out it was linked to me, but he didn’t blame me. He even helped me cover it up. So what if you're his wife now, he'll always stand by my side!"
