Chapter 119
Gianna followed Ximena to a café next to MY FASHION.
As they sat down, Ximena handed her a cheque.
"Take this money and disappear from Felix's world!"
Gianna glanced down at the cheque, which was made out for a staggering fifty million dollars.
She lowered her gaze and said slowly, "Mrs. Ximena, it seems that the matter between Felix and me is not for you to decide."
Ximena let out a cold laugh, her gaze on Gianna as if she could devour her.
"Gianna, you almost killed Felix, and you have the nerve to say that to me?!"
If it weren't for Connor holding her back, Ximena would have had someone make trouble for Gianna as soon as she returned to Dawnridge this morning.
Gianna pursed her lips. "It was just an accident. I won't let something like that happen again in the future."
Ximena's eyes were filled with anger. "All these sweet words are useless now. Take the money and leave before I take other measures. Otherwise, you will regret it!"
If Ximena wasn't concerned about maintaining her image in public, she would have already spill her coffee on Gianna's face.
Thinking about how Felix had almost died, she wished she could slap Gianna fiercely.
Gianna looked at her calmly, speaking each word deliberately, "Mrs. Ximena, if you really want me to leave, have Mr. Clinton tell me himself."
"I have to work, so I won't keep you company."
Gianna got up and left. After taking a few steps, Ximena's mocking voice came from behind.
"You don't want to leave. You just want to get more money from Felix. I have the utmost disdain for people like you who would do anything for money!"
Gianna didn't even pause her steps, quickly leaving the café, leaving Ximena seething with anger.
By the time Felix received the message and rushed over, Gianna had already left. Seeing him, Ximena became even angrier.
"What are you doing here?!"
Felix sat across from her, his expression terrifyingly cold.
"Mom, please don't interfere in my matters with Gianna in the future. Otherwise, I won't let you see her again!"
Hearing this, Ximena gritted her teeth, her voice cold. "Felix, are you out of your mind? Last time, Gianna left you disabled; and this time she almost killed you. Do you still want to be with her?!"
"This is my business. I hope you won't meddle."
"Impossible! Last time I was soft-hearted and didn't insist on your divorce. This time I won't give in! Between me and Gianna, you can only choose one!"
Felix, with a cold expression, stood up and spoke coldly, "Mom, I won't make this choice. You should just go travel more with dad when you're free, and worry less about our affairs!"
"You!"
Ximena was so angry that her face turned pale green, pointing at Felix for quite some time without being able to utter a complete sentence..
"I'll ask Fabian to send you back."
After seeing Ximena off, Felix messaged Gianna.
[Did my mom meet you?]
[Yes.]
[Why didn't you tell me?]
[It wasn't anything important, so I didn't mention it. She didn't do anything to me either.]
[If she contacts you again, you don't have to pay attention to her.]
After sending this message, Gianna didn't reply for a while, so Felix couldn't help but frown and send a few more messages.
Half an hour later, Gianna finally replied to his message.
[I was in a meeting just now. I know. I won't take it to heart.]
For Gianna, Ximena was just a stranger to her. She didn't expect anything from her and naturally didn't care.
[Dinner tonight?]
[No, I have plans with Faith tonight.]
[Okay, tell me when you get home.]
Gianna was about to reply when Faith couldn't help but say, "Gianna, are you falling in love with someone? Why are you constantly replying to messages on your phone?"
Surprised by her keen observation, Gianna put away her phone and calmly replied, "No, I'm just replying to a client's message."
"Let's go eat Italian tonight."
"Okay."
The end of the workday arrived quickly, Faith took Gianna to a new restaurant next to MY FASHION.
After ordering their food, Faith looked at Gianna and said, "This time Felix saved you. Don't you think you should properly thank him?"
"How should I thank him?"
"I don't know. But he rushed over as soon as he knew you were trapped in Maple Valley. I don't believe he has no feelings for you!"
Gianna pursed her lips, took a sip of water, and didn't argue with Faith.
"Honestly, have you ever considered being with him again?"
Gianna choked on her water, coughing a few times.
Faith quickly handed her some tissues. "Calm down. I was just joking. I'm not asking you to be with him again right now."
After a few seconds of silence, Gianna suddenly asked, "Do you think I should get back with him?"
Faith pondered for a moment, then shook her head and said, "To be honest, given his relationship with Bella Redstone, they won't cut off contact. If you get back with him, you might still have to deal with Bella Redstone's interference. I suggest you don't."
"But if a man appeared and saved me when I was almost dying, I don't know if I would fall in love with him."
Gianna's fingers on the water glass turned white; her eyes downcast in deep thought.
Soon, their pasta arrived.
They chatted aimlessly while eating; and at one point, Faith mentioned Uriah.
Recently, Uriah had been trying to pursue Faith again.
Perhaps initially out of guilt to make it up to Faith, but later he genuinely fell for her again and wanted to win her back.
He had been trying to invite Faith out for dinner several times these days, but Faith remained unmoved.
Gianna furrowed her brow upon hearing this. "Didn't he used to really like Jasmine White? Why suddenly switch to someone else?!"
Faith shook her head. "I'm not sure. Maybe he suddenly lost his mind, but I have no feelings for him now. I won't get back with him."
When Faith truly let go of a relationship, she truly moves on. No matter what Uriah did, she won't change her mind.
"Did Jasmine used to like Uriah so much before? Wasn't she entangled with him?"
Faith sneered, "Recently, her dad invested in several dramas, so she's busy filming and networking. She had no time to bother with Uriah. But I heard she's been flirting with a rich second-generation from a film and television family. I guess she's forgotten who Uriah is by now!"
Thinking back to the few times they met before, Uriah's defense of Jasmine made Gianna feel a bit of sadness.
With Uriah's financial power, if he was willing to help Jasmine, her path in the entertainment industry would definitely be much smoother, but it was Jasmine who ruined it all.
Neither Jasmine nor Uriah deserved sympathy.
After dinner, Gianna and Faith left the restaurant.
Seeing the black Maybach parked on the side of the road, Gianna's eyes flashed with surprise; then she said to Faith, "Faith, you go back first. I want to take a walk alone."
Regarding her and Felix's situation, Gianna had also figured it out.
It's just that she hadn't figured out how to compensate Felix yet.
After Faith left, Gianna walked to Felix's car, opened the door, and got in.
Felix glanced at her and said softly, "Had a good meal? I'll take you back."
"No need. I have something to tell you."
After Gianna said what she was going to say later, Felix would probably just kick her out of the car.
Felix suddenly tightened his grip on the documents and turned to look at her.
"Have you thought it through, right?"
"Yes."
Gianna nodded and said seriously, "I think we might not be suitable after all."
