Chapter 284

Gianna bit her lip, hesitating, when Felix's voice buzzed in her ear again.

Felix said, "Amara's already got her eyes on us. You sure you don't wanna make a move quick?"

Hearing this, Gianna gritted her teeth and said, "Alright, fine. I’m in."

Felix grinned, "I'll be waiting for you at home."

He turned, gave Amara a nod, and hopped into his car, driving off.

Amara eyed Gianna, whose face was all flushed, and teased, "What did he say to you? You're blushing like crazy."

Gianna instinctively touched her warm cheeks, "Nothing, nothing... Let's just get inside."

Amara chuckled and let it go.

As soon as they stepped into the restaurant, a waiter approached them.

The waiter said, "Miss Redstone, Mr. Clinton has reserved the whole place. Let me take you to the best spot with a river view."

After they sat down and ordered, Amara started grilling Gianna, "Your boyfriend seems pretty powerful. His family owns a company or something?"

Gianna nodded, "Yeah."

Thinking of Felix, she couldn't help but recall what he had whispered in her ear earlier. Her face, which had just cooled down, started to heat up again.

She pursed her lips, took a sip of water, and said slowly, "Let's not talk about him. Let's discuss the upcoming surgery. This surgery has a very low success rate, and there could be various unexpected situations. We need to communicate in advance."

Talking about the surgery, Amara's expression turned serious. She nodded, "Yeah, I know. I heard the patient this time is your friend?"

Gianna added, "Yeah, we worked together for a while."

Amara didn't pry further. They discussed the details of the surgery for a while and then talked about Amara's life abroad in recent years.

Knowing she was still single, Gianna was surprised, "Amara, so many people are after you. Don't you plan to pick one to date?"

Amara smiled, a hint of sadness flashing in her eyes.

Amara said sadly, "What's the point of dating? I want to dedicate my life to the medical field."

Gianna sighed, "Alright, back when we were learning medicine from our mentor, you were the most diligent among us."

Amara raised an eyebrow, "Don't praise me too much. Why don't you mention how I caught you and Garrett memorizing drug names in the middle of the night?"

Talking about the past, both of them had a nostalgic look in their eyes.

Gianna said, "Learning medicine from Foster was the happiest time of my life."

Amara nodded, "Mine too."

They chatted about other things for a while. After dinner, Gianna took Amara to her hotel.

Gianna remarked, "Amara, there are still a few days before the surgery. If you want to explore Dawnridge, just call me anytime."

Amara refused, "Forget it. You still have to work. If I want to go somewhere, I'll just ask Garrett."

Gianna thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright, then I'll arrange two bodyguards for you to ensure your safety."

Amara said, "Okay."

After assigning Felix's two bodyguards to Amara, Gianna took a cab back to the villa.

Opening the door and not seeing Felix in the living room, she immediately lightened her steps, trying to sneak back to the bedroom.

But just as she reached the bedroom door, Felix said in slight amusement, "Gianna, why are you sneaking around like a thief?"

Gianna froze, turned to look at Felix, and pursed her lips, "I'm not. I just didn't want to disturb you."

Felix raised an eyebrow and said, "Afraid of disturbing me, or afraid I'll make you keep your promise now that you're back?"

"Of course, I'm afraid of disturbing you!" she said, trying to sound all righteous. If it weren't for the obvious guilt in her eyes, Felix might've bought it.

Felix said, "I've wrapped up all my work today and have been waiting for you to come back."

Seeing Gianna stay silent, Felix smiled and said softly, "Gianna, breaking a promise isn't something a businessperson should do."

Gianna gritted her teeth and glared at him, "Who said I was gonna break my promise?"

Felix smiled, "If not, then put this on."

Seeing the bag handed to her, Gianna finally realized she had fallen into his trap.

Gianna said angrily, "Felix, you did this on purpose, didn't you!"

She glared at him, her eyes flashing with anger, but her ears turned red involuntarily.

Felix nodded, unabashedly admitting, "Yep, this is what you promised me."

After staring at each other for a while, Gianna snatched the bag from his hand and gritted her teeth, "Wait until tonight!"

Felix reminded, "Remember to put it on before dinner."

Gianna slammed the door shut without a word.

Felix looked at the closed door, a smile playing on his lips, and he turned to leave.

It wasn't until she heard footsteps fading away outside the door that Gianna finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking down at the lace nightgown in her hand, her face turned crimson. She couldn't help but curse herself for being foolish enough to agree to wear this for dinner tonight.

But now she had to keep her promise. If she didn't wear it tonight, who knows what Felix would come up with.

However, the thought of wearing such revealing clothes made her feel a wave of shame.

Gianna spent the entire afternoon hiding in her room.

It wasn't until Molly finished cooking and left that Felix came upstairs and knocked on the door, "Gianna, dinner's ready."

Gianna had been psyching herself up all afternoon. Hearing Felix's voice now, she felt like it was a devil's call. She raised her voice, "I know, I'll be down soon. You can leave now!"

Felix agreed, "Alright."

After Felix left, Gianna's gaze fell on the nearly transparent lace nightgown on the bed. Except for the key areas covered with white fabric, the rest was all transparent lace. She could already imagine what she would look like wearing it.

After hesitating for a while, Gianna finally put on the nightgown.

She walked into the bathroom and saw herself in the mirror. Her face turned red with shame, and her body blushed with embarrassment.

If she had to go out looking like this, she would rather die.

She walked to the bedroom, took a shawl from the closet, and draped it over herself before opening the bedroom door and walking out.

The nightgown was very short, barely reaching her thighs. If she took larger steps, her underwear would be visible.

Gianna walked slowly, dragging her feet as she headed downstairs. Just as she reached the top of the stairs, Felix came out of the kitchen with two bowls.

The first thing he saw was a pair of slender, fair legs, and his breathing became heavier.

Looking up, he saw Gianna wrapped herself tightly in a shawl, and he frowned.

Felix asked, "Gianna, I don't remember our agreement including that shawl."

Gianna was mortified, gritting her teeth, "Felix, don't push it!"

Felix placed the bowls on the table and slowly walked towards her.

With each step he took, Gianna felt a growing sense of danger.

Gianna shouted, "Don't come any closer!"
