Chapter 107
"No, Grandma will only think we have a good relationship."
Gianna frowned, about to say something, but Felix had already taken her hand and walked inside.
As soon as they entered the living room, Natalie Clinton walked over with a smile. Seeing their hands intertwined, her smile deepened. "Gianna, let me see if you've lost weight. Did you feel tired after work these days?"
Gianna shook her head. "I'm fine."
Natalie Clinton pulled her to the sofa and said, "If work is too tiring, don't do it. It's men's job. We only need to shop and enjoy."
Gianna couldn't help but smile as she knew that Natalie had been a powerful shareholder in the Clinton Group, a company built by Felix's grandfather. She never expected that Natalie would be so lovely and would suggest that she not work and have fun at home.
"Grandma, I would be bored if I stayed at home all the time."
Seeing her insistence, Natalie had to say, "Well, as long as you like it."
"Okay."
Gianna picked up the coffee on the table and took a sip, finding it different from what she had before. She couldn't help but squint and asked, "Grandma, what kind of coffee is this? It's delicious!"
Natalie smiled and said, "It's what Thomas brought back from abroad. If you like it, I'll have the housekeeper pack some for you later."
Gianna shook her head. "No need, I'll ask Cousin Thomas where he bought it. I'm not really a coffee drinker anyway."
She then said to a maid, "Maya, pack the coffeeThomas gave me last time and give it to Gianna later."
"Okay."
"Grandma Natalie, thank you. I'll bring you some coffee cookies next time!"
"Good. You always know what I like!"
Natalie's affectionate gaze made Gianna feel a bit shy. The snacks she had brought for Natalie were inexpensive, but this coffee was top-notch, definitely of a higher quality.
Felix, who was sitting across from her, said, "I'll go ask later."
Gianna nodded. "Okay."
She wasn't familiar with Thomas Clinton, so if Felix went to ask, it would save her a lot of trouble. The two of them finished dinner with Natalie Clinton, stayed for a while, and were about to leave.
"Gianna, come visit me when you have time!"
"Alright, Grandma, you should get some rest early."
After getting in the car, Felix turned to Gianna and said, "I've already arranged for the coffee. It's being purchased now and should be ready in about two weeks. How do you plan to thank me?“
Gianna looked at Felix, his eyes filled with a smile as if he was waiting for her to praise him. She pushed aside the unrealistic thought and replied casually, "Mr. Clinton, how would you like me to thank you?"
"Have dinner with me."
A hint of surprise flashed in Gianna's eyes, and she nodded. "Sure." It was just a meal, nothing major.
"When do you plan to treat me?"
"In a few days. I have a lot of work to do these days."
"Okay!"
After sending Gianna back to the villa, Felix left. Just as Gianna watched his car disappear from sight and turned around, she was startled. Laura was standing right behind her, her eyes full of smiles.
"Gianna, why did Felix send you back?" Laura asked.
"We just had dinner at Grandma Natalie's."
A look of confusion flashed in Laura's eyes, and she frowned. "You two are already divorced; why did you go to accompany his grandmother for dinner?"
"It's not me accompanying him; it's him accompanying me, and we have agreed not to announce the divorce for the time being."
"Why?"
Gianna slowly said, "Natalie is not in good health. She just had a stay in the hospital recently, and we plan to wait until she is better before announcing it."
Laura nodded thoughtfully. "Okay."
They walked into the villa, and Gianna sat with Laura on the sofa for a while before showering.
It wasn't until she was showering that Gianna had time to think about what had happened that day. Suddenly, she remembered that Trinity had said someone gave her a USB drive containing a video of her going to find Naomi. Almost instantly, the name "Martin" flashed through her mind. There shouldn't be anyone else monitoring her except him. Thinking that he was monitoring her, Gianna's look grew cold. It seemed that she really had to find a way to deal with Martin; otherwise, not only she but also the people around her would be in constant danger.
After taking a shower, Gianna was about to go to bed when she received a call from Faith.
"Gianna, do you remember letting me introduce men to you previously?"
"I remember. What's up?"
Gianna put her phone on the dressing table and picked up a towel to dry her hair.
"Now that the plagiarism incident and Trinity's matter have been resolved, I'll send you the photos later. You can see if there's anyone you like. If not, I'll find another batch!"
Hearing the excitement in Faith's voice, Gianna couldn't help but smile. "I don't have such high standards. I only plan to find someone to deal with Felix and tell him that it's impossible between us."
"That won't do. If you randomly find someone who is not as good as Felix, he definitely won't believe it."
Gianna frowned. "Why wouldn't he believe it?"
"Think about it. You used to like him, but how could you still be interested in an ordinary man? I will definitely find you a tall, rich, and handsome man!"
Gianna agreed with Faith's words, so she let her toss about it. "Okay."
"Wait for a while; I'll send you the photos right away!"
After hanging up the phone, Faith's dozen or so messages came in. Gianna clicked on the photos and found that each man looked good indeed, but she always felt like they all lacked something.
[What do you think? Do you like any of them? I have more!]
[These are all second-generation rich men from Dawnridge. Pick one you like, and I'll bring him to you!]
Gianna couldn't help but laugh and slowly typed a reply to Faith.
[How about the first one? But will the second-generation affluent be willing to play along with me?]
Soon, Faith's message came back.
[Don't worry, I know them all quite well. If you explain the situation clearly, he will definitely agree.]
[Okay, Faith, thank you!]
[Don't thank me in a hurry; treat me to a meal if it works out.]
Looking at Faith's messages, Gianna always felt something strange, but she didn't think much about it and went to bed after blow-drying her hair.
When she woke up the following day, Gianna saw several messages from Faith on Facebook and a friend request. She opened her chat with Faith first, read her messages, and then went to wash up after accepting the friend request. Faith came to find her as soon as she arrived at the company.
"Gianna, how about I invite Eugene Walton to lunch today? You two can get to know each other."
"Okay, I was supposed to have dinner with Felix in a few days. If it goes well, I'll bring him along."
Faith nodded, her enthusiasm already beyond the normal range, making Gianna feel uncomfortable. "Okay, I'll make a reservation!"
At noon, Gianna and Faith drove to the agreed restaurant. When they arrived, Eugene was already there. Seeing Gianna, he stood up with a smile. "Miss Redstone, I'm Eugene."
Eugene was dressed in a gray suit, wearing a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, exuding an elegant aura all over. Gianna smiled. "Mr. Walton, I'm Gianna." After exchanging greetings, they sat down and started to order, unaware that another person was watching them.
