Chapter 144
"Felix Clinton, let go!"
Gianna's voice was somewhat anxious as she reached out to push Felix, unexpectedly pushing him away with ease.
The next moment, seeing Felix about to crash to the floor, Gianna instinctively reached out to catch him.
He was burning up!
Seeing Felix's clenched eyes and his unusually rosy cheeks, Gianna hesitated, wondering if Felix had a fever.
"Felix Clinton, wake up! Don't think I'll sympathize with you just because you're pretending to be pitiful!"
However, no matter how much Gianna called out, Felix showed no response.
Gianna furrowed her brow, hesitated for a moment, then dragged Felix to the sofa first and took his temperature with a thermometer.
Thirty-nine point three degrees centigrade.
Gianna gave him a fever reducer and then called the assistant Sophia to come and pick up Felix.
"Miss Redstone, I'm currently on a business trip miles away. Why don't you take Mr. Clinton to the hospital and then inform his family?"
Gianna fell silent for a few seconds before saying, "I understand. I'll do that for now."
After hanging up the phone, Gianna couldn't help but glare at the still-unconscious Felix, speechless.
Sending Felix to the hospital was impossible. Notifying Ximena or Natalie would only complicate things. Now, she just hoped Felix would recover from the fever soon.
Two hours later, Gianna touched Felix's forehead and finally felt the fever had subsided. She then went to the kitchen to stew some chicken soup.
Felix woke up to the smell of the chicken soup. He opened his eyes, looked around, got up, and walked toward the kitchen.
Seeing Gianna chopping vegetables in the kitchen, Felix couldn't help but smile faintly, leaning against the door frame and watching Gianna.
Felix knew that Gianna wouldn't just leave him in the lurch.
Just as Gianna finished stewing the chicken soup and was about to prepare other dishes, she sensed something behind her. Turning around, she saw Felix standing at the kitchen door, watching her.
Felix's lips were a bit pale due to the fever, but this didn't diminish his good looks. It even added to his charm, lending him a vulnerable look.
"You sit in the living room for a while. I'll fry two eggs," said Gianna.
"No need. I'll stay here with you," replied Felix.
Gianna didn't say anything more and turned to start frying the eggs.
Soon, the eggs were ready, and Felix took the initiative to help in the kitchen.
Gianna carried the already-cooled chicken soup to the dining room, sat across from Felix, and started sipping it.
"Thanks for today," said Felix.
Without looking up, Gianna replied in a flat tone, "Just don't show up at my doorstep when you're sick next time. I won't bother next time."
Felix's eyes dimmed slightly as he looked at Gianna. He asked, "Are you still angry about what happened before?"
"No, I'm not angry. Mr. Clinton, I just hope you won't bother me again," said Gianna.
Whatever happened between Felix and Bella was their business. Since she and Felix were already divorced, Gianna had no right to interfere.
After finishing the soup and tidying up the table, Gianna looked at Felix indifferently. "I've called you a ride. When the driver arrives, you can go back."
Felix smiled bitterly. "Do you really dislike me that much?"
Gianna furrowed her brow. "Mr. Clinton, it's not about disliking you. I just think it's better we don't get tangled up. It doesn't do any of us any good."
After a long silence, Felix finally spoke, "You just came back from a business trip and must be tired. Rest well. I'll come to see you another day."
"You don't have to. I'd rather not see you again," said Gianna.
Felix hesitated for a moment, then left without saying anything. The rain outside quickly blurred his figure.
Gianna felt an inexplicable sense of annoyance and closed the curtains directly.
In the following days, Felix did not come to see Gianna again.
They met again at a business cocktail party.
Gianna didn't want to go, but Faith mentioned that some important clients would be there, so she went to network.
These kinds of events always involved drinking, which Gianna disliked.
While Gianna was having drinks with business partners, Felix and Bella entered the venue together.
Bella's eyes flashed with disgust when she saw Gianna, but she still managed a fake smile on her face.
"Felix, seeing Gianna here was unexpected. Is she now entertaining clients?"
Following Bella's gaze, Felix saw Gianna in a red V-neck dress, her face adorned with delicate makeup, standing calmly next to a few men, smiling gracefully, captivating everyone's attention.
Felix noticed several men stealing glances at Gianna, feeling displeased as if something he treasured was being eyed by others.
Seeing Felix's displeased expression, Bella whispered, "I didn't expect Gianna to work so hard, even entertaining clients now. Felix, should we offer her a job at LR Design Studio? Although it might pay less, at least she's not out here mingling with men every day and being taken advantage of."
As soon as Bella finished speaking, Felix gave her a cold look. "Bella, another word against Gianna, and I can revoke the conditions I offered you at any time!"
Bella's face paled; she did not expect Felix to protect Gianna like this.
Feeling resentful and angry, Bella dared not show any of it in front of Felix, knowing he could take back everything he had given her at any moment.
"Felix, I was wrong. I thought I was helping," said Bella.
"She doesn't need it!" With that, Felix walked straight toward where Gianna was.
Watching Felix leave, Bella wanted to call out to him but didn't dare, her eyes filled with grievances.
As Bella turned to leave, she suddenly saw Raymond not far away, also looking in Gianna's direction.
A hint of surprise flashed in Bella's eyes, followed by a sly grin.
'Does Raymond like Gianna? If that's the case, things could get interesting,' she thought.
On the other side, Gianna was talking to clients when she suddenly felt a cold gaze on her.
Gianna turned slightly and saw Felix walking toward her, frowning involuntarily.
The business partner, upon seeing Felix, looked pleasantly surprised. "Mr. Clinton."
Felix stood next to Gianna and smiled. "I'd like to have a few words with Gianna."
"Mr. Clinton, please. Ms. Redstone, let's discuss our collaboration at MY FASHION tomorrow."
Gianna nodded slightly with a smile. "Alright."
As the business partner left, Gianna's expression turned icy, and she turned to leave.
But not even a few steps away, Felix grabbed her wrist.
"Ms. Redstone, why do you smile so happily at other business partners but act so cold toward me?"
Gianna shook off Felix's hand and said expressionlessly, "Mr. Clinton, if I remember correctly, there's no collaboration between MY FASHION and Clinton Group, so there's nothing for us to discuss."
"How could that be? Clinton Group has a project in mind that would be perfect for collaboration with MY FASHION."
Gianna furrowed her brow and said coldly, "Let's leave it to LR Design Studio. MY FASHION can't collaborate with Clinton Group."
"I'm pretty sure you can handle this collaboration," said Felix.
Gianna's patience was wearing thin as she coldly replied, "I'm sorry. I'm not interested."
Felix raised an eyebrow. "Alright, let's not talk business. Let's talk about something else."
Gianna looked at Felix coldly. "Don't you have anything to do?"
"When it comes to you, I'm always available," said Felix.
"Suit yourself!" Gianna couldn't be bothered with Felix anymore and walked quickly to the dessert area, grabbed a few pieces of cake, and found a quiet corner to eat.
Not long after, a shadow suddenly fell in front of her.
Thinking it was Felix, Gianna looked up impatiently. "Leave me alone."
The next moment, she saw that it was Raymond, and a hint of embarrassment flashed in her eyes. "I'm sorry. I didn't catch it was you, Mr. Musk."
"Gianna, are you the CEO of MY FASHION?"
