Chapter 267

Gianna dropped her gaze and after a bit, she finally said, "Natalie, we're both all about our careers right now. We'll chat about it in a couple of years."

For the last six months, every time Bella went for a prenatal check-up, she'd shoot Felix a message about the baby's status. At first, Felix ghosted her, but eventually, he'd toss back a line or two.

Gianna knew Felix was thankful to Bella for saving Natalie and Ximena, but she still couldn't get over Bella being a wedge between them.

Natalie scrunched her face and huffed, "Did Felix mess up again? When he gets back from his trip, I'm gonna have a word with him!"

Gianna looked up and grinned, "Natalie, no, it's not about him. My company's just finding its footing, and I wanna wait until it's more solid before thinking about remarriage."

Hearing this, Natalie felt a pang of sympathy. She'd seen Gianna busting her butt over the past six months.

If Felix hadn't been such a jerk and let her down back then, she wouldn't be grinding so hard now.

"Do what you gotta do. I just want you to be happy. If Felix treats you like crap, don't worry about me. Handle your business."

Gianna looked at Natalie with gratitude and nodded, "Yeah, Natalie, I get it."

After dinner, Gianna bounced from Harmony Garden.

On the drive back, Gianna couldn't help but mull over her thing with Felix.

Felix had been super sweet to her over the past six months, always coming through on her asks. But she always felt this wall between them, no matter how hard she tried, the gap stayed the same.

She knew they had issues, but she was lost on how to fix it.

Just as she pulled up to the villa, her phone buzzed.

Gianna quickly checked it and saw it was Faith. A flicker of disappointment crossed her face.

Felix'd been on a business trip for three days, and in those three days, he hadn't called her once.

She didn't know if he was really swamped or just didn't care.

Pushing down her annoyance, Gianna answered the call.

"What's up?" Gianna asked.

"Gianna, Jonah's in the hospital. I'm planning to visit him. Wanna come?"

The last time Jonah was in the hospital, Faith had gone to find Gianna. Back then, Felix had gone MIA, and Gianna was busy looking for him, so she didn't get to see Jonah.

For the past six months, every time Faith saw Gianna, she wanted to spill that it was Jonah who saved her, but never got the chance.

When Faith heard Jonah was back in the hospital today, the first thing she thought of was to tell Gianna.

Even if Gianna didn't know what Jonah had done for her, it would be good for her to visit him.

A look of surprise flashed in Gianna's eyes, and she immediately started the car, "Which hospital? I'm on my way."

Half an hour later, Gianna walked into Jonah's hospital room.

His agent, Kyle, was peeling an apple for Jonah. When he saw Gianna, he was momentarily stunned, then his face turned sour.

"Miss Redstone, what are you doing here?" Kyle asked.

If it weren't for the time Jonah ran into the fire to save Gianna and got clocked on the head by a falling chandelier, causing a blood clot in his brain, Jonah wouldn't be dealing with constant dizziness, headaches, and occasional nausea. He'd been passing out on set over the past six months.

And Gianna knew nothing about it and had never visited Jonah once.

Jonah delayed his work and lost tens of millions of dollars. He also endured the pain of the aftereffects.

Sensing Kyle's hostility, Gianna was a bit puzzled but still smiled, "Kyle, did I step on your toes or something? Why the attitude?"

Kyle wanted to throw more shade, but Jonah cut him off from the hospital bed.

"Kyle, I'm starving. Can you grab me some food?"

Kyle shot him a glare but still put down the apple and left.

As he walked past Gianna, he didn't even glance her way, his face like ice.

Gianna plopped down by the bed, looking at Jonah with a puzzled expression, "Did I unknowingly piss off Kyle?"

Jonah chuckled and said slowly, "He's just in a bad mood today. Don't sweat it."

Gianna nodded, "How's your health holding up?"

"I keep saying I'm fine, but Kyle's adamant I stay in the hospital."

"It's good to get checked out, for peace of mind."

"Yeah, but what brings you here today? I've been seeing you all over TV these past six months. Your company's killing it, but no matter how well it's doing, you gotta take care of yourself. You've lost a ton of weight."

He looked genuinely worried about Gianna.

Gianna raised an eyebrow, "Really? Nowadays, being thin is all the rage. If I've lost weight, I'm stoked!"

"You looked great before. Dropping more pounds isn't good for your health."

Gianna couldn't help but tease him, "You should worry about yourself first. You're the one in the hospital."

Jonah smiled, but just as he was about to speak, a sudden, intense pain hit his head, like someone was hammering inside, causing him unbearable agony.

He clutched his head, his face twisted in pain, veins bulging on his forehead and arms. He almost slammed his head against the wall.

Gianna grabbed his arm with one hand and pressed the call button with the other.

Soon, a dozen doctors and nurses rushed in. After giving Jonah a painkiller injection, his condition gradually stabilized.

Gianna frowned, wondering how Jonah's condition had gotten so bad, when a surprised voice sounded behind her.

"Gianna? What are you doing here?" Garrett asked.

Gianna turned around and saw Garrett, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes, "Garrett, what are you doing here?"

Garrett didn't answer her question but instead frowned and walked up to her, "How did you get so thin?"

"Thin? I feel the same as before."

'Why did both Jonah and Garrett say I had lost a lot of weight?' Gianna wondered.

Garrett pulled her aside and examined her, his expression turning serious, "Haven't you been taking the medicine Foster prescribed every day?"

"I have. What's up?" Gianna asked.

"How have you been feeling these past six months? Can you handle the pain when it flares up every day?"

Gianna nodded, "Yeah, I can barely manage. It's only an hour, and it passes quickly."

Although she spoke lightly, Garrett could imagine the pain she endured every day. Even with the medicine from Foster, it was probably just a drop in the bucket.

"Your body is really weak right now. I'll prescribe some medicine to help you recover." Garrett said.

Gianna couldn't help but laugh, "Garrett, did you forget I'm also a doctor?"

Garrett glared at her, "If you're a doctor, why haven't you taken better care of yourself? I'll prescribe the medicine and have the hospital deliver it to you every day."

Seeing him a bit angry, Gianna quickly nodded, "Okay, thank you."

Garrett hesitated but couldn't help asking, "Is Felix treating you well?"

Gianna bit her lip and said softly, "He's been good."

"Good enough to let you lose this much weight in six months?"

"Garrett, don't blame him. He's been busy reorganizing the Clinton Group, often working until dawn. And I'm not a child anymore."

Seeing her defend Felix, Garrett's face darkened, "If he doesn't treat you well, I won't let him off!"

"Alright, don't say that. I won't let myself be mistreated."

Garrett snorted and didn't say anything more.

"By the way, Garrett, what are you doing at the hospital?"
