Chapter 114
Adrian's eyes lit up, his demeanor no longer tense as before. He smiled and said, "Yes, they are all grown by the villagers here, without any pesticides. You can eat them with peace of mind. Miss Redstone, if you like them, I'll pick some for you when you leave."
"Great, thank you."
"I won't disturb you while you eat. Just leave the dishes on the table when you're done. I'll come by later to clean up and show you around the village."
"Okay."
After Adrian left, Gianna looked at Zoey and Otis beside her.
"Let's eat."
Zoey and Otis sat next to Gianna in the morning, eating breakfast in silence since they had not had time to have breakfast earlier.
Zoey didn't expect that although the dishes didn't look good, they tasted delicious. She ate a lot of mashed potatoes.
After the meal, Adrian came to take them around the village.
Sunnydale Meadows was a village with hundreds of households. The young people in the village have all gone out to work, leaving behind only some middle-aged and elderly people with low education levels and left-behind children..
As Adrian walked, he introduced the scenery of the village to Gianna. When they reached a fork in the road, a little girl suddenly ran over from the other side and collided with Gianna.
The bowl in the little girl's hand fell out, and she fell to the ground.
Gianna supported the little girl with one hand and caught the bowl that fell out with the other hand. Before the others could react, she had already handed the bowl to the little girl.
"Are you ok?"
Gianna's voice was gentle, with a faint smile on her face. The little girl was stunned, forgetting to reach out to take the bowl.
Adrian looked at the little girl and said, "Emma, where are you going? Why are you so worried?"
Emma came to her senses and took the bowl, saying, "Uncle Storm, Jonah Brother is back. I'm going to bring him some food."
Adrian couldn't help but smile, "Jonah Brother has already had dinner."
"That doesn't stop me from bringing him food."
"Alright, go ahead."
After Emma left, Adrian explained, "Jonah Brother she mentioned used to live in our village. Later, he went out to find work, was discovered by talent scouts, and became an actor. It seems that he even won some Movie Star award recently."
Gianna's eyes flashed with surprise. When Emma mentioned Jonah Brother just now, she didn't feel anything, but now hearing Adrian say it, she realized that the person must be Jonah Getty!
"Mr. Storm, is the actor you mentioned Jonah Getty?"
Adrian nodded quickly, "Yes, he's very famous. It seems that Miss Redstone knows him too."
Gianna was surprised to find out that this was actually Jonah's hometown. She said slowly, "Yes, I know him."
Upon hearing this, Adrian was momentarily stunned, then quickly said, "Since Miss Redstone knows him, I'll take you to see the Getty family. We should run into them next few days."
"Okay."
On the way to Jonah's house, Adrian pondered whether it would be easier to negotiate the deal if Gianna knew Jonah.
Just as they arrived at the door, they heard Jonah teaching Emma how to read; and Adrian knocked on the door.
Soon, the door opened from the inside.
Jonah saw Adrian and smiled, "Uncle Storm, you're here to see me."
Seeing Gianna standing next to Adrian, a look of shock flashed in his eyes. "Gianna, what are you doing here?!"
Gianna smiled and said, "I've been looking for suppliers recently. I saw Sunnydale Meadows' fabric factory online, so I came here to inspect it in person."
Jonah nodded, "Uncle Storm mentioned it to me a few days ago."
"I didn't expect it to be your hometown. Have you been here on vacation these days?"
A strange light flashed in Jonah's eyes; and he smiled, "Yes, I come back here when I'm not working."
Recently, Jonah's family has been urging him to go back to search for his ancestors; but he didn't want to be bothered, so he came here to take a break.
"We won't disturb you then."
Jonah looked at her, with many words in his heart but unable to speak them, nodded, "Okay."
Adrian dropped them off at home; and before leaving, he looked at Gianna and said, "Miss Redstone, I'll come to pick you up at 8 am tomorrow to visit the factory."
"Alright, thank you for your hard work, Adrian."
After Adrian left, they freshened up and went back to their rooms to rest.
On the other side, in Dawnridge, Sophia found out where Gianna was and hurried to Felix's office to report.
"Felix, I've figured it out. Miss Redstone is currently at Sunnydale Meadows, the southernmost part of Maple Valley."
Felix's eyes showed surprise as he frowned, "What is she doing there?"
"She's probably there for work."
"I see. You can leave now."
After Sophia left, Felix called Faith.
"Faith, why is Gianna at Sunnydale Meadows?!"
Hearing Felix's tone, Faith couldn't help but furrow her brows, "Felix, do I need to report MY FASHION's work arrangements to you?"
If Felix hadn't snatched the collaboration with Musk's team before, Gianna wouldn't have had to find a new fabric factory. Thinking about this, Faith was annoyed.
"Gianna is my wife, so I have the right to know why your company sent her on a business trip."
Faith smiled slightly and said, "If you are so curious, you can call her and ask her. Why ask me?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Faith hung up the phone.
Felix's face instantly turned ice-cold; but after a few seconds, he still dialed Gianna's number.
After a few rings, the call was answered.
"Mr. Clinton, why are you calling me all of a sudden?"
Felix's eyes darkened as he spoke softly, "I'm going to visit my grandmother in a couple of days, would you like to come with me?"
"I'm currently on a business trip, so I probably won't have time to go. Maybe next time."
Felix unconsciously tightened his grip on the phone, remaining silent.
"Mr. Clinton, if you have nothing else, I'll hang up now. I need to sleep."
Without a response from Felix, Gianna hung up the phone.
Over the next few days, Gianna took Zoey and Otis to visit the fabric factory to see the production and dyeing process of the fabrics.
The fabric factory at Sunnydale Meadows mainly employed middle-aged people over forty. Although the number of employees was not large, they were highly efficient; and the quality of the fabrics met Gianna's requirements.
By the third day, Gianna had decided to collaborate with the fabric factory at Sunnydale Meadows.
After Adrian learned of her decision, he was so excited that he had his wife slaughter the old hen they had been raising for years and prepared a table of delicious food to entertain Gianna and the others.
At the dinner table, Adrian raised a glass to Gianna; his eyes slightly red. "Miss Redstone, thank you very much for choosing us. We promise to work hard and not disappoint you!"
After speaking, he downed the glass of wine in one gulp.
Without Gianna's order, their fabric factory might have been shut down another month.
When Gianna first arrived, he was actually unsure, afraid that she would not want to cooperate after seeing their simple environment. To his surprise, not only did Gianna not mind, she even agreed to collaborate.
Gianna smiled and said, "Adrian, there's no need to thank me. Although your fabric factory is small, the efficiency and quality of the fabrics are not inferior to those of other fabric factories outside, and even better in some aspects. That's why I chose you."
"Alright, we will work hard to produce even better quality fabrics!"
"I believe in you!"
After dinner, it was already past nine in the evening; and just as they were about to leave, the sky opened up with pouring rain.
Adrian glanced at the rain and said, "We often have this kind of rain here. It will stop in half an hour at most, you guys stay a while longer."
However, as time passed, the rain did not diminish; instead, it showed signs of getting even heavier.
Adrian's house was situated on a higher elevation, and by now, a stream of water had gathered and was flowing towards the lower-lying areas.
Zoey unconsciously furrowed her brows, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.
"It seems like the rain is getting heavier?"
She had never seen such heavy rain before.
Before she could say more, a man in a raincoat suddenly appeared at the courtyard gate, walking urgently towards Adrian's house. "Mr. Storm! The houses at the village entrance are flooded!"
