Chapter 122

Gianna frowned, "What's the matter?"

"You'll find out when you go, Miss Redstone."

After a few seconds of silence, Gianna decided to go see Felix with Sophia.

"Mr. Clinton, what do you want from me?"

As soon as she spoke, a black card was handed to her.

"If you ever run out of money, just use this card."

Seeing Felix's expectant expression, Gianna understood that he had misunderstood her actions earlier.

Gianna pursed her lips and didn't take the card.

"No need. I have enough money."

"If you have enough money, why do you need to do odd jobs?"

Gianna couldn't be bothered to explain and said indifferently, "Mr. Clinton, this is my own business."

"Gianna, if you're willing to listen to me and reconsider going to college, you won't have to do these laborious jobs in the future."

Detecting a hint of disdain in Felix's tone, Gianna frowned at him.

"Mr. Clinton, even if it's laborious work, it's still my own business. I don't find it embarrassing."

"If you have a college degree, you'll have more options!"

Gianna nodded, "I don't deny what you're saying is true, but I should have the right to choose my own path in life. I won't listen to you to change myself."

After speaking, Gianna turned and left directly.

Felix watched her back with a cold expression, a flicker of anger in his eyes.

Back at the Villa, seeing Laura at home, Gianna was somewhat surprised.

"You're not participating in the event today?"

"Yes, I tend to rest for some time; but because of this event, I haven't been able to rest properly. I've already talked to the Agent that I won't attend this kind of events anymore."

"You should indeed take a good rest. You even have dark circles under your eyes."

"Yeah. I feel like my tiredness lately has affected my looks. By the way, where did you go today?"

"Just went out to handle some things."

Laura nodded and didn't ask further. "Do you have plans for tonight?"

"No. What's the matter?"

"Since you are available, how about accompanying me to have dinner with Mr. Lisa tonight to thank him for helping me last time?"

"Ok. Let me rest for a while first."

After Gianna went upstairs, Laura immediately called Mitchell to make dinner plans for the evening.

On the other side, the design competition was still actively ongoing.

A total of over thirteen hundred participants took part in the preliminary round, with only six hundred advancing to the next round.

It wasn't until after six in the evening that the participants advancing to the next round were finally tallied.

Both Bella and Emily's participant numbers were among them.

Upon learning this result, Bella showed no surprise on her face. The first round scores were on a percentage basis, with very small differences between participants. She scored 92.6 points, the same as over a dozen others.

Just as Bella was leaving the competition stage, she received a call from Lauren in the rest area.

"Belle, you were amazing today! Your dad and I saw the competition results, and he's booked a restaurant for us to celebrate!"

"Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Bella went to find Felix, only to be informed by a staff member that he had left long ago.

Feeling disappointed, Bella drove to the restaurant.

Lauren and Julian were both very happy tonight. Henry and Kimberly also knew about Bella advancing to the next round and called to instruct Julian to encourage Bella to continue working hard and strive for first place.

"Belle, you make me so proud! When I received the news of your advancement to the next round, I was having afternoon tea. Those wealthy ladies were so jealous, envying me for having such an outstanding daughter!"

Bella shyly smiled and modestly said, "Mom, I'm not that great. It's just the preliminary round. There are several more rounds to go."

Lauren looked proud. "My daughter is so amazing. You will definitely take first place!"

"I'll do my best!"

Julian also smiled and said, "Belle, if you can get first place, I'll give you a surprise."

"What surprise?!"

"If I tell you, would it still be a surprise?"

"Then, even if it's just for Dad's surprise, I'll aim for first place!"

The group laughed together, and Lauren handed the menu to Bella. "Bella, take a look and choose what you'd like to eat."

"Okay."

Just as Bella finished ordering, Julian's phone rang.

He glanced at it, stood up, and said, "It's a call from a client. I'll go out to take it."

After leaving the restaurant, Julian found a quiet corner to answer the call.

"I told you not to call me recently."

Before he could finish speaking, a panicked voice came through.

"Julian! The baby has a fever. Hurry back!"

Upon hearing this, Julian's expression changed instantly. "I'll be right there. Use a damp cloth to lower his temperature!"

After hanging up, Julian quickly walked back to the restaurant.

"Lauren, Belle, there's been a sudden issue at the company that I need to attend to right away. You guys go ahead and eat. If I finish before you do, I'll come back."

After Julian left, Bella and Lauren continued chatting and eventually the topic shifted to Gianna.

"Oh, Mom. There's something I'm not sure if I should tell you. It’s about my Gianna."

Lauren furrowed her brows, a hint of disgust flashing in her eyes.

"Has she gotten into trouble again?!"

Bella pursed her lips, seeming hesitant to speak.

"Not causing trouble. Just today when I went to the competition, I saw her at the scene."

"What was she doing at the competition venue?!"

For some unknown reason, Lauren's face suddenly became extremely ugly. "Does she know you're participating in the competition and deliberately causing trouble?!"

Bella shook her head. "No. Actually, she was working as a temporary worker at the scene. When I went there, she was carrying water for the competitors."

Lauren slammed the table with the cutlery, angrily saying, "Does she think she hasn't humiliated the Redstone family enough?!"

If news of Gianna doing temporary work like this spreads, it will definitely make the Redstone family a joke in Dawnridge's high society circles.

"You call her right away!"

Bella looked hesitant. "Mom, if Gianna finds out I told you about this, she will definitely misunderstand me again. My intention for telling you is so that you can give her some money. That way, she won't have to work as a temporary worker."

Lauren sneered, "I won't give her a penny! She doesn't deserve it! Since you won't call, I'll do it myself!"

Lauren picked up her phone and dialed Gianna's number directly, but several calls were hung up in a row.

During this time, Bella 'tried' to stop her, but to no avail.

Finally, the call was answered.

"What's up?"

Gianna's indifferent tone made Lauren even more furious; and she angrily said, "Gianna, I heard you went to the design competition venue to work as a temporary worker today?"
