Chapter 235
Thomas chuckled, "Manager Foster, remember, without Felix, your dad wouldn't dare come back to Dawnridge. I'm helping you out here."
Ivy Foster's voice was cold, "Making a scene won't help any of us. Hope you know what you're doing!"
She hung up.
Thomas tossed his phone on the table, his smile fading.
Gianna raised an eyebrow at the info James sent. She hadn't realized Ivy was Wayne's daughter. Now it made sense why Ivy teamed up with Thomas against Felix.
After Trinity and Wayne falsely accused MY FASHION of plagiarism with LR Design Studio, Felix kicked them out of Dawnridge. They hadn't dared return.
Ivy framing Felix was probably her way of getting back at him.
As Gianna put away her phone, the lawyer arrived.
After a quick briefing, the lawyer led them inside.
The lawyer went in alone to see Felix. When he came out, he looked grim.
"Gianna, this is tricky. Felix didn't bring an assistant to the meeting, and the other side claims he harassed them, with restaurant staff as witnesses."
Gianna's face turned cold, "The staff must be lying."
The lawyer was surprised by her trust in Felix.
"The key is to find inconsistencies in their testimonies. If we do, we might win."
Gianna nodded, "Got it. I'll find a way."
Ivy would stick to her story. Otherwise, she'd fail to get revenge and risk her career.
But Gianna's eyes turned cold. Ivy's career was doomed the moment she plotted against Felix.
"I'll handle the bail."
Felix was quickly released.
Unlike tense James, Felix was calm. He showed emotion only when he saw Gianna.
He walked up, looking guilty.
"Sorry for worrying you."
Gianna looked up, "Let's go home first."
Back at the villa, Felix hugged Gianna tightly, burying his head in her neck, "I didn't touch her. I'd never touch another woman."
Gianna smiled, "I believe you, but be more careful. You knew Thomas had bad intentions."
Felix remained silent at first, then said, "I didn't expect him to stoop so low."
Gianna rolled her eyes, "Realize it now? This has blown up online. The comments are nasty!"
Just reading them made her angry. The priority was proving Felix's innocence. Words wouldn't help.
"I'll be more careful."
"Okay, go shower and rest. We'll order takeout."
Felix nodded and was about to leave when the doorbell rang.
It was Connor and Ximena. They had gone to Tranquil Haven Estate first and, not finding Felix, called James to learn he had moved in with Gianna.
As Ximena saw Gianna, hers face twisted with disdain.
"Gianna, if it weren't for you, Felix wouldn't be in this mess! Stay away from him!" she spat.
Remembering Bella's warning from a fortune teller that Gianna would ruin the Redstone family, Ximena felt disgusted, as if just looking at Gianna brought bad luck.
Gianna's expression turned cold, but before she could speak, Felix frowned and said, "Ximena, if you keep talking nonsense, don't come near Gianna again."
Ximena stepped back, eyes red, "Felix, I'm doing this for your own good. This woman will only bring you disaster. You must stay away from her!"
Felix's eyes were icy, "No way. I won't break up with her!"
"You!"
Ximena pointed at him, both angry and anxious, hating Gianna even more for changing Felix.
Connor spoke coldly, "Enough, stop it. We're here about the harassment case with Ivy. Say less!"
Ximena pressed her lips together, not speaking, but in her heart, she cursed Gianna fiercely.
To her, all of Felix's troubles were Gianna's fault. If he stayed away from her, nothing bad would happen.
Gianna had no feelings for Connor and Ximena, but since they were Felix's parents, she didn't want to make things harder for him. She looked at Felix and said, "I'll go upstairs. You guys talk."
"Okay."
After Gianna left, Ximena sneered, "Look at her, no respect for her parents-in-laws. A woman like that will only bring chaos to the family."
Felix looked at her coldly, clearly impatient, "Ximena, if you want Gianna to respect you, you have to treat her well first. Expecting her respect while despising her is just wishful thinking."
Connor, already annoyed, looked at Felix and said, "I heard this was Thomas's doing?"
Mentioning Thomas made Felix's eyes even colder.
"Yes, he seems to hate me even more than before. He probably still thinks you and Ximena were responsible for Jesse and Maria's deaths."
Ximena's face changed, and after a while, she gritted her teeth, "If he really thinks that, he should provide evidence! Doing these underhanded things is despicable!"
Connor glanced at her coldly, "I remember you had a fight with Maria before their car accident."
Ximena's eyes flashed with shock and anger, "Do you think I did it too? No matter how dissatisfied I was with them, I wouldn't resort to murder!"
Since Jesse and Maria's deaths, rumors in Dawnridge suggested she and Connor were unhappy with Jesse managing the Clinton Group, so they plotted to kill them.
At that time, she was busy arranging their funerals and had no time to deal with the rumors.
She hadn't expected Thomas to believe those rumors and hate her ever since.
She still remembered the night before Thomas suddenly left the Clinton family. He had found her and said that one day, he would make her and Connor pay.
She had tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen and disappeared the next day.
Now that he was back, he was even less willing to listen to her explanations, convinced that she was the one who killed his parents.
Thinking of this, Ximena felt full of grievances.
Connor snorted coldly, "You better not be."
His eyes, full of suspicion, made Ximena's long-suppressed emotions explode. She stood up and raised her voice, "Connor, what do you mean? Are you suspecting me? When those rumors started, if you hadn't been so weak and didn't even defend me, Thomas wouldn't still think I killed his parents!"
