Chapter 351
The word got to Felix real quick that the Drake Group wanted to end their partnership.
James looked pretty worried. "Mr. Clinton, if we cut ties with the Drake Group, the Clinton Group's gonna take a big hit. A lot of our plans will have to be put on hold."
The Clinton Group had been doing well in Thundertop lately, but they weren't strong enough to challenge the big families there. They still needed to work with them.
The Drake Group was one of the top four families in Thundertop and was starting to look like the leader. If they ditched the Clinton Group, other families might follow, and that would be a huge blow.
Felix stayed calm. "Just agree to it."
Felix knew Gianna was with the Drake family, so he figured this partnership was never gonna last.
James tried to warn him, "Mr. Clinton, falling out with the Drake family now isn't the best move."
Felix replied, "Even if we don't agree, the Drake Group will find a way to force us out. It's better to agree now and make sure they pay the penalty. Get our best legal team on it."
Seeing Felix's firm stance, James knew there was no point in arguing. He nodded and left.
Once the office was quiet again, Felix's eyes turned cold. Timothy's actions made him more sure that Constance was Gianna. But he needed to figure out why she didn't remember him before he could go to her with the evidence.
Time flew by, and soon it was the twentieth.
In the morning, Grant called Constance and Jennifer to a meeting room to check if they had finished their design drafts.
Jennifer was ready and smiled. "I worked late and finished everything last night. Grant, take a look."
Grant reviewed her work and looked pleased. "Very good. You've improved a lot."
Jennifer beamed with pride. "Glad you're happy with it."
Grant then turned to Constance. "Constance, did you finish your work?"
Just as Constance was about to answer, Jennifer cut in, "Constance, today's the deadline from the Collins Group. If you haven't finished, we might lose this partnership. You did finish, right?"
Her eyes were full of mischief.
Constance remembered Clara had told her the deadline was the twenty-ninth. A cold glint flashed in her eyes.
Clara was Jennifer's assistant. She wouldn't have messed with Constance without Jennifer's orders.
Constance raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Jennifer, don't worry. It's done. I'll go get it from my office."
Jennifer was taken aback, then scoffed. "Constance, I gave you half the work, and you don't even have an assistant. There's no way you finished all the drafts in a few days. If you haven't, just say so. I can help. Lying is wrong, and Luminary Ventures Group won't keep a designer with poor character!"
Constance asked, "Why are you in such a rush, Jennifer? It only takes a few minutes to get it. And how are you so sure I haven't finished?"
Jennifer's face stiffened under Constance's half-smiling gaze. She gritted her teeth. "Because the workload is huge. Clara and I worked late every night and barely finished. You leave on time every day, so it's impossible you finished."
Constance shot back, "That's you, not me. Don't assume everyone works as slowly as you!"
"You!" Jennifer was fuming, but Constance ignored her and walked out.
Five minutes later, she came back with a USB drive and handed it to Grant. "Grant, here are my design drafts."
Grant took it and was about to plug it into the computer when there was a knock on the door.
"Grant, Mr. Collins is here. He wants to see the completed design drafts."
Grant looked surprised and quickly told his assistant, "Bring him to the meeting room."
When Liam Collins and Felix walked into the meeting room, Grant quickly stood up to greet them. "Mr. Collins, Mr. Clinton, what brings you both here together?"
Seeing Felix, Constance couldn't help but frown and immediately looked away, clearly not wanting to see him for even a second longer.
Liam explained, "The Clinton Group plans to invest in this collaboration, so I asked Mr. Clinton to come with me to take a look. You can continue your meeting. Don't mind us. We're just here to listen."
Grant nodded. "Alright, we were just about to review Constance's design drafts."
As Grant finished speaking, a look of panic flashed across Constance's face, which Jennifer, sitting opposite her, noticed.
Jennifer sneered and said slowly, "Grant, I'm afraid Constance hasn't finished her design drafts. Why don't we look at mine first?"
Constance glared at Jennifer angrily. "Jennifer, stop making baseless accusations!"
Jennifer mocked, "Baseless accusations? You were so flustered when Grant said he wanted to see your design drafts. Are you still pretending?"
Constance was silent for a few seconds and then said helplessly, "Since you want to show yours first, go ahead."
This statement made Jennifer even more certain that Constance was guilty. She sneered, "I gave you a chance earlier, but you didn't take it. Now I'll expose your true colors in front of Mr. Collins and Mr. Clinton!"
With that, she walked over to Grant and opened the folder. Seeing that there were indeed design drafts inside, she enlarged them.
The next second, the smile on her face froze.
Constance's design drafts were far superior to hers. Compared to these drafts, her own designs had no merit at all.
Jennifer flipped through a dozen more pages in disbelief. Each design was unique and captivating at first glance.
Jennifer shouted, "No, this is impossible! How could you create such perfect design drafts? You must have copied these from the internet!"
Grant's voice turned cold. "Jennifer, have you had enough?"
Jennifer was furious. "Grant, she really copied them. There's no way she could create such good designs. Just check online, and you'll definitely find these drafts!"
Constance smiled and raised an eyebrow. "Jennifer, it's one thing to dislike me on a regular day, but today, with Mr. Collins and Mr. Clinton here, you're still trying to embarrass me. What you're actually doing is bringing shame to the company."
Jennifer felt the cold stares from Liam and Felix on her and gritted her teeth. "You must have copied them. Otherwise, why were you so flustered when Grant said he wanted to see your designs?"
Constance retorted, "Did I tell you I was flustered?"
"Your expression clearly showed it!"
Constance didn't want to waste any more words with her and directly addressed Grant, "Grant, if this were a private matter, it's fine. But with Mr. Collins and Mr. Clinton here, Jennifer's slander requires an apology. Plagiarism is the most malicious accusation for a designer. If this isn't cleared up, how can I continue in the design industry?"
Seeing Constance so confident, Jennifer suddenly had a bad feeling. But given the situation, she couldn't think too much.
Jennifer coldly looked at Constance and said, "Fine, let's clear it up. If you really didn't plagiarize and completed your work, I'll kneel and apologize to you!"
A look of surprise flashed in Constance's eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.
Jennifer was putting all her bets on this gamble, hoping for a turnaround. Little did she know, this would only make her loss more devastating.
Grant's face turned extremely grim, fearing that Liam and Felix might reconsider their cooperation with Luminary Ventures Group upon seeing his poor management of subordinates.
Grant looked at Liam and Felix, who had remained silent, and apologized. "Mr. Collins, Mr. Clinton, I'm sorry for this spectacle."
Liam smiled. "Grant, since Jennifer insists, let's have someone check. It won't take much time."
Grant agreed, "Alright."
The staff worked quickly, and within ten minutes, the results were in.
"Grant, it's been verified. None of Constance's design drafts are plagiarized; they are all original."
As soon as the words were spoken, Jennifer's face turned deathly pale!
How could this be?
