Chapter 378

Rebecca grinned and raised an eyebrow. "I knew you'd say that."

Constance kept quiet. They walked for about five minutes and reached the set.

Rebecca led her straight to the dressing room. "The lead actress here is the award-winning Laura. She's got this fierce beauty, so we might need to tweak the costumes a bit."

Constance knew Laura. Eliza was a big fan, always watching her shows and movies.

Speaking of Eliza, she hadn't seen her in days. Maybe she could get Laura's autograph later; Eliza would flip.

Rebecca scanned the dressing room, then quickly approached Laura with a smile. "Laura, I've got a new costume designer for you. She's also handling all the costumes for this show."

Laura, resting with her eyes closed, opened them and turned to look. When she saw Constance, shock and disbelief flashed in her eyes. "Gianna?" she whispered.

Constance was taken aback. Did she know her?

"Hi, Laura. I'm your new costume designer, Constance. Looking forward to working with you."

Laura jumped up, grabbing her hand excitedly. "Are you really Gianna? You're alive?"

Constance was puzzled. "Did we know each other?"

"You don't remember?" Laura was stunned.

Constance nodded. "Yeah, I lost all my past memories. Did we meet at Dawnridge?"

"Yes, we were really close. You helped me a lot when I started in the industry."

Constance thought for a moment. Jonah had mentioned she used to work behind the scenes. It seemed Laura knew her from back then.

Seeing Laura's emotional state, Constance gently said, "Laura, you have a scene soon. Let's check the costumes first."

"Okay."

After Laura changed, Constance made a few tweaks and let the makeup artist continue.

Half an hour later, a stunning young woman stood before them. Though Laura was twenty-eight, her skin was flawless. She stood quietly in a light pink gown, looking like a lotus about to bloom, exuding serene elegance.

The makeup artist couldn't help but gush, "Laura, you're gorgeous! I'm falling for you!"

Laura laughed, covering her mouth. "Thanks."

She then looked at Constance. "Wait here for me. I'll find you after the shoot."

"Okay," Constance replied.

After Laura left, Constance found a spot to sit and started modifying the costumes.

The original colors were too light, not doing justice to Laura's beauty. She decided to deepen the colors to better complement Laura's look.

While she was working, an impatient voice suddenly interrupted, "Hey, who are you? A paparazzi sneaking in to snap pics of me?"

The voice was so arrogant, it annoyed Constance. But when she looked up, the other person looked like they'd seen a ghost. "Gianna? How are you here? Aren't you supposed to be dead?"

Constance frowned and looked at the woman speaking. Her once beautiful face twisted with fear, and she was pale as a ghost.

From the way the woman was staring at her, Constance figured they probably weren't on good terms. Deciding it wasn't worth engaging with someone she clearly had a history of conflict with, Constance began packing up her things to leave. But the woman blocked her path. "I'm talking to you. Are you deaf?"

Jasmine glared at Constance, her eyes full of mockery and disdain. Now that she was an award-winning actress with a powerful backer, she didn't fear Constance.

At first, she was startled to see Constance, but once she realized she was a living person, her fear vanished. Not even Felix could touch her now!

Constance looked at her, confused, and raised an eyebrow. "Were you talking to me? Sorry, I thought I heard a dog barking."

"You!" Jasmine sneered and raised her voice. "Get security over here! I just lost a necklace worth millions of dollars, and I suspect this stranger stole it!"

Her assistant immediately got the hint and went to find security.

Constance looked at her indifferently, her eyes cold.

Soon, security arrived. "Jasmine, I heard you lost a necklace?"

Jasmine nodded, looking anxious. "The necklace is a treasure of the Harrison family. Because I'm close to Ms. Harrison, she agreed to let me wear it for the shoot. I was supposed to return it after filming today, but it went missing shortly after I arrived in the dressing room."

Before the security could speak, Constance couldn't help but laugh.

Jasmine was infuriated by her mocking laughter and gritted her teeth. "What are you laughing at?"

Constance mocked, "I'm laughing because you're such a good actress. Your performance is so convincing that you probably believe it yourself."

Seeing the disdain in her eyes, Jasmine sneered, "I think you're just feeling guilty. My necklace must have been stolen by you!"

Constance retorted, "You accuse me of stealing your necklace. Do you have any evidence? If you slander me without evidence, I can sue you."

"Whether you stole it or not, we'll know once you let me search your bag. Besides, you don't seem to be part of this crew. Sneaking in here, you must be up to no good. You can't be here just for fun!" Jasmine looked confident, as if she was sure the necklace was in Constance's bag.

Constance's expression turned cold. "Why should I let you search my bag? Even the police need a warrant to search someone's belongings. Do you think you have more authority than the police?"

Jasmine said, "I'm done talking to you. Grab her!"

As soon as she finished speaking, two security guards behind Jasmine rushed towards Constance.

However, before they could touch her, two strong men suddenly appeared beside Constance. With a single kick each, the security guards were sent flying!

After dealing with the security guards, the two men disappeared from everyone's sight as quickly as they had appeared.

"What just happened? Did I see that wrong?"

"No, I saw it too, but I couldn't even see what those two looked like before they disappeared."

"Wow, who is this woman? Those two guys seemed really skilled!"

Listening to the surrounding chatter, Jasmine gritted her teeth in anger. "Skilled? She's just a thief! She probably already handed my necklace to those two accomplices!"
