Chapter 68

Gianna furrowed her brows, seemingly lost in thought, and suddenly, a smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.

“Mr. Clinton, this is Jonah Getty’s Mansion. Wouldn’t it feel awkward for you to live here?”

Felix’s gaze turned cold. Just when Gianna thought he would get angry and leave, Felix suddenly spoke up: “Since he’s willing to lend you the Mansion and knows that we are a couple, he probably wouldn’t say anything about having one more person.”

Gianna fell silent.

She gritted her teeth and coldly said, “But I don’t want to live with you!”

“Gianna, I won’t leave. Arrange a room for me, or come back with me! Don’t forget, my paralysis is related to you!”

After a long silence, Gianna finally compromised.

“Fine, I’ll go back with you.”

She didn’t want Felix to live here, as it would only lead to more entanglement once he discovered the truth.

After a long night, Gianna took a shower and went to sleep as soon as she returned to Grand View. Felix didn’t force her to share a room with him this time.

Early the following day, as Gianna arrived at the entrance of MY FASHION, she saw Lauren and Bella waiting there.

Upon seeing her, the anger in Lauren’s eyes seemed to find an outlet, and she quickly walked toward Gianna, raising her hand to hit her.

“Gianna! Withdraw the lawsuit now! You’ve tarnished the reputation of the Redstone family!”

Gianna took a step back to dodge her slap, making Lauren even angrier.

“You dare to dodge!”

Gianna’s expression remained indifferent. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“I am your mother!”

Bella chimed in, “Gianna, Mom didn’t sleep last night because of your situation. She cried several times. Should we withdraw the lawsuit, or do you want to watch Mom apologize to The Astor family?”

Gianna smiled and said, “Jasmine slandered me, yet instead of confronting her, you come to me, the victim, and ask me to withdraw the lawsuit. Don’t you find it laughable?”

Before anyone could reply, Lauren’s sharp voice rang out.

“Gianna, if you’re not at fault, who made those accusations? Let me tell you, if you don’t withdraw the lawsuit, I’ll consider you no longer my daughter!”

Gianna nodded firmly and said, “I did make a mistake!”

Lauren glanced with surprise in her eyes, seemingly unexpected at how quickly she had changed. She coldly snorted, “As long as you’re willing to apologize, I won’t pursue this matter further!”

“Lauren, I haven’t finished speaking yet. My mistake was when I returned to the Redstone family at sixteen. I thought you found me to compensate me, but I didn’t expect it was to donate bone marrow for Bella!”

The faces of the two opposite each other changed. Lauren gritted her teeth and said, “You are Belle’s sister. Saving her is the right thing to do!”

“I haven’t finished speaking yet, Lauren. There’s no need to be so impatient.”

Lauren coldly looked at her, eager to see what else Gianna could say!

“I was also wrong to have any illusions about you and Julian or about the Redstone family. Originally, I wanted to maintain a little peace, but now it’s impossible.”

For the three years Bella was abroad, every time Lauren fell ill, Gianna would rush to take her to the doctor.

She had thought Lauren would one day value her, but now she realized that no matter how hard she worked for another three years, she still couldn’t compare to Bella.

Hearing the strangeness in Gianna’s tone, Lauren’s anger intensified. “Gianna, do you really have no intention of apologizing?”

A hint of mockery flashed in Gianna’s eyes. She raised her gaze and looked at Lauren. “I won’t apologize, and I won’t return to the Redstone family in the future.”

After speaking, Gianna turned around and was about to leave.

Lauren lost her sanity with anger and cursed at Gianna, “If I had known you would turn out like this, I should have killed you back then!”

Gianna didn’t look back or even pause her steps.

Bella supported Lauren, comforting her with a face full of sadness. “Mom, don’t be angry. Your health isn’t good, to begin with. Gianna's words were just out of anger."

Lauren angrily declared, "Regardless of whether she is sincere or not, I will never look for her again! Belle, you are my only daughter!"

Bella felt satisfied in her heart, but she put on a hesitant expression on her face. "Mom, let me take you home first. I'll think of a way for The Astor family's matter."

Lauren patted her hand tiredly. "Belle, you've worked so hard!"

Bella shook her head. "It's not hard as long as our family can be happy together."

Lauren didn't say anything on the surface, but she was even more dissatisfied with Gianna in her heart.

After dropping Lauren off at home, Bella made a call to Emerson.

"Emerson, there's something I want to talk to you about. Are you available now?"

In the evening, Gianna had just finished work and walked out of MY FASHION when suddenly a figure sprang out from the side, holding up a bucket and splashed it toward her.
Gianna's face turned cold, and she quickly dodged.

The bucket's contents splashed onto the ground, and the red paint resembled blood. She wondered what consequences it would have had if it had splashed on her.

The person who threw the paint noticed it didn't hit Gianna and dropped the bucket before turning and running away.

Soon, a person on a motorcycle came to pick him up. After getting on the bike, they made a provocative gesture toward Gianna before quickly disappearing into the traffic.

Gianna smiled and took out her phone to make a call.

"Find out who instructed the two people who splashed paint downstairs at MY FASHION today."

An hour later, Gianna laughed as she dialed the police.

The police were efficient, and while Gianna was still giving her statement, Emerson was brought into the police station.

As soon as she saw Gianna, she lost control and pounced on her, "Gianna, how dare you report me to the police. Just wait! I will ensure my dear Redstone family terminates your cooperation!"

Gianna grabbed her by the hair and slapped her.

Emerson's screams echoed in the police station, and the police quickly stepped in to separate the two.

With a cold expression, Emerson stared at her and said, "Gianna, just wait to regret this!"

Gianna glanced at her indifferently, "Regret? I will regret not slapping you a couple more times just now!"

"You!"

Emerson pointed at her, anger filling her eyes, "Just wait!"

Gianna couldn't be bothered with her anymore. After giving her statement and signing the documents, she turned and walked out of the police station.

The news of Gianna reporting Emerson to the police quickly spread, and the upper-class residents of Dawnridge were discussing the matter.

When Lauren went to play cards, she was mocked by someone.

"Lauren, you still have the mood to play cards! We don't dare to play with you anymore if your daughter catches us and reports us to the police one day!"

Lauren's face stiffened, and she smiled, "It was a misunderstanding. I have already asked Gianna to apologize, and I believe Jasmine will be released soon."

Before she finished speaking, the other person looked at her strangely.

"Don't you know Gianna reported Emerson to the police again today? Your daughter dared to offend The Astor family!"
