Chapter 338

Bella asked, "Mom, did you hear? Gianna's funeral is today."

Lauren's face went all stiff for a sec before she snapped, "Don't bother with that. She was just a pain when she was alive."

She handed Bella some chicken soup. "Here, drink this. It's been days since you had the baby, and no one from the Clinton family has shown up. Natalie promised you 10% of the shares; she wouldn't back out, right?"

Bella looked a bit uneasy. "No way. I gave birth to Natalie's great-grandson. She'll keep her word."

Seeing Bella's determined look, Lauren didn't push it, but something felt off to her.

Just as something clicked in her mind, Bella suddenly asked, "Oh, has anyone from the Redstone family come by?"

Lauren's face brightened up. "Jared's still recovering from his injury. The whole Redstone family is busy finding doctors for him, hoping he can get better!"

A cold look flashed in Bella's eyes. "Act like you don't know anything about this, and don't mention it to anyone, or we're toast."

Lauren nodded. "Don't worry. I won't say a thing!"

Since Gianna's funeral, Felix practically moved into the office, spending all day in meetings or buried in paperwork.

Every time James left work, he'd see Felix still grinding away. He tried to talk some sense into him, but Felix wouldn't listen.

Seeing Felix getting more and more worn out, James had no choice but to call Natalie over.

Felix gave him a cold look. "James, I am your boss!"

James looked down, feeling guilty, but before he could say anything, Natalie chimed in, "Felix, James is just looking out for you. Instead of scolding him, you should give him a raise!"

James silently agreed. Felix already paid him well, but who'd say no to more cash?

Felix looked at Natalie, unimpressed. "Grandma, if you're here to lecture me, you can leave."

Natalie had James leave and sat down across from Felix, looking pained. "Felix, no matter how much you hate to admit it, Gianna's gone. You need to get it together."

Felix cut her off, calm as ever. "Grandma, am I not getting it together right now?"

Natalie shot back, "If you keep ignoring your health, you'll be down for the count in a month."

"I know."

Seeing he wasn't budging, Natalie got mad. "From now on, you leave work on time and come back to Harmony Garden for dinner. You'll stay at Harmony Garden, or I won't eat and I'll stay here with you. No matter how late you stay up, I'll stay up too!"

Felix felt a bit helpless. "Grandma, please don't make this harder for me."

Natalie snapped, "Am I making it hard for you? Felix, you're the one making it hard for yourself."

Felix went quiet. After a long pause, he said slowly, "But I don't know what else to do to forget her."

Every time he thought about not being able to save her, it felt like a knife twisting in his heart, causing unbearable pain.

Natalie tried to soothe him, "Felix, it's okay to not be able to let go right now. Don't push yourself to forget. Just take some time to rest, and let time do its thing."

Felix looked down, his eyes red. "I get it. I'll come back to Harmony Garden from now on."

After Natalie left, Felix called James in.

James thought Felix was gonna chew him out for bringing Natalie over, but Felix just asked coldly, "Have you found Thomas?"

James replied, "We've got a lead. Our guys are on it. We should have him in a few days."

Felix said, "I need a definite answer."

"We'll have him within three days."

Felix nodded. "Alright, you can go."

Once the office door closed, Felix picked up a document, but Gianna's face popped into his mind again.

This time, he didn't try to push it away. Instead, he closed his eyes and let the memories wash over him.

After Gianna left, he realized just how much he loved her, to the point where he couldn't forget her for even a second.

That evening, Felix went back to Harmony Garden.

Seeing Connor there, he was surprised but didn't say anything, just walked over and sat down, looking lost.

Seeing his dazed look, Connor couldn't help but say, "Felix, you should visit your mom. She wants to divorce me. Can you help talk her out of it?"

Felix glanced at him and then said indifferently, "Right now, she probably hates me the most. If I go, it'll just make her want the divorce more."

Thinking of Ximena's disgusted look when she mentioned divorce, Connor figured Felix had a point.

Connor said, "Forget it. I'll head back now. Take good care of your grandma."

During this time, the Clinton family had been through a lot.

Natalie's health had taken a hit, and the doctor said she couldn't handle any more stress.

After Connor left, Natalie and Felix ate in silence.

Seeing him mechanically shoveling food into his mouth, Natalie's eyes filled with pain, but she felt helpless.

Knowing about Gianna's passing, she couldn't accept it for a while, let alone Felix.

After dinner, just as Felix was about to leave, Natalie suddenly said, "Felix, I'm planning to visit Gianna this Saturday. Do you want to come?"

Felix's back stiffened for a moment before he replied indifferently, "No need."

With that, he left.

Watching him go, Natalie's eyes gradually reddened.

Natalie asked, "What can I do to ease his pain?"

The servant, standing nearby, quickly lowered her head. "Mrs. Clinton, Felix will come around after some time. He just can't accept that Miss Redstone is gone yet."

Natalie closed her eyes, thinking of how Thomas had caused Gianna's death, wishing she could have him locked up right then and there.

Before, she could persuade Felix to spare Thomas's life, but now, not only Felix, even she wanted to personally end Thomas.

Natalie said, "It's my fault for not keeping Thomas in check, leading to all this."

Natalie's voice was filled with regret, but the servant didn't dare to speak, pretending not to hear.

The next afternoon, James rushed into Felix's office, his face lit up with excitement. "Mr. Clinton, we've caught Thomas!"

Felix's grip on the document tightened as he looked up at James.

Felix asked, "Where is he? Bring him here immediately!"
