Chapter 242

"Alright, let's head back."

Gianna got in the driver's seat and drove to Elm Bay.

Felix called Leon at the Clinton estate, asking him to arrange care for Ximena at the hospital, then closed his eyes to rest.

Soon, Gianna heard Felix's steady breathing from the passenger seat.

At a red light, Gianna glanced over. Even asleep, his brows were furrowed. He'd been under a lot of stress lately.

She felt sorry for him and reached out to smooth his brow, but a horn blared. She snapped back, saw the green light, and started driving again.

Back at the villa, Felix was still asleep. Gianna didn't wake him, draped a coat over him, and went inside.

Felix hadn't eaten since last night, so she decided to make some porridge.

Just as it was ready, Gianna heard a car engine outside. Her expression changed, and she quickly walked out, only to see Felix's car disappearing into the distance.

Gianna called Felix, but he didn't answer. Worried, she quickly drove after him.

Felix was driving fast, and soon Gianna was left behind. Watching his car vanished, she had someone check Thomas's location.

The message came quickly: [Thomas is holding a press conference, claiming Felix's parents killed his and calling for a reopened investigation into the car accident six years ago.]

Gianna texted: [Send me the address now!]

Gianna drove straight to the press conference. It was clearly a trap. If Felix went, he'd fall right into it.

But she was too late. When she arrived, Felix was beatingThomas.

Gianna's face darkened. She rushed to pull Felix away, but he pushed her aside, nearly making her fall.

Steadying herself, she saw reporters eagerly filming, their faces excited.

Gianna gritted her teeth and said coldly, "Felix, if you keep this up, we're done!"

Felix's fist froze in the air. He turned to Gianna coldly, "Even you are trying to push me?"

Gianna met his gaze, "I'm not pushing you. Just calm down."

The scene fell silent.

Bruised and battered, Thomas laughed mockingly, "Felix, if you're so tough, kill me. Otherwise, I'll destroy your family to avenge mine!"

Felix's jaw tightened, eyes filled with rage. The oppressive aura he exuded made it hard to breathe.

Gianna shot Thomas a cold look. She wanted to kick him too.

In the end, Felix let Thomas go. He walked past Gianna with a cold face, not even looking at her.

Gianna knew he was angry at her for stopping him and quickly followed.

Thomas stood up, smiling as he straightened his shirt, eyes cold. This wasn't over.

Felix walked quickly, and by the time Gianna reached the garage, he had already driven away.

Gianna hesitated but decided not to chase him. Instead, she had someone keep an eye on Thomas and inform her if he met with Felix.

She'd been up all night and now had a throbbing headache.

Her phone rang. It was Faith, sounding anxious.

"Gianna, the video of Felix hitting Thomas is trending. Everyone's criticizing Felix, and Thomas is saying Felix's parents killed his. What happened?"

Gianna's headache worsened, "I'll explain later. Let's leave it at that for now."

She hung up and checked Facebook. People were already criticizing Felix.

[If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it. Felix actually hit someone in public!]

[So what? Thomas said Felix's parents killed his. He wouldn't say that unless he knew something. I support Thomas!]

[Rich families are complicated. If Felix's parents really killed Thomas's, then Thomas is really pitiful!]

Gianna pressed her lips and turned off her phone. They needed to uncover the truth about Thomas's parents' deaths.

She made a call, "I need infotmation on the car accident involving Thomas's parents, their social connections, and anyone they might have offended."

After hanging up, she drove back to the villa. Just as she sat down, her email notification chimed. Gianna opened it and frowned as she read.

Meanwhile, Felix drove back to Oakwood Estate. James was at the villa entrance and approached as soon as Felix got out.

"Sir, I've found out what you asked me to investigate," James said.

Felix nodded. "Let's talk inside."

In the study, Felix calmed down.

James continued, "There's a force behind Thomas, quietly infiltrating our territory. If we hadn't discovered it, our forces would have been uprooted within half a month."

Felix showed no surprise, "We'll halt our actions for now and wait for a better chance. We've been exposed, and any move we make will be noticed."

James frowned, "If we do nothing, the situation will get worse for us."

"I have my plans."

After a moment, James added, "By the way, the video of you hitting Thomas is online, and people are criticizing you. Do you need me to handle it?"

Felix smirked coldly, "No need. The bigger the fuss, the better."

The bigger the fuss, the more Thomas would think he was powerless.

"Understood."

Seeing James hesitated, Felix frowned, "Speak up if you have something to say."

"Sire, people are saying you're violent and might be abusive in the future. And you should explain your plan to Gianna. If she misunderstands, it could be a big loss."

Felix frowned, "I know what to do. Continue to keep an eye Thomas."

"Understood."

After James left, Felix picked up a document but couldn't focus. Gianna's words about not forgiving him if he lied again kept replaying in his mind.

Felix stared at the document for a long time before grabbing his car keys and heading to Elm Bay.

When he reached the villa, it was completely dark. He called Gianna, but she didn't answer. His face darkened, and he had James find out where she was.

Soon, James's message came back.

[Felix, I've found her. Gianna went to the Clinton Group half an hour ago.]
