Chapter 28

<Chapter>Chapter 28: Irresistible Urgency </Chapter>

"I don't know..."

Gianna's face was flushed, with a thin layer of sweat appearing on her forehead as heat emanated from her body.

Felix grasped her chin firmly, his voice deliberate. "Look at me. Recognize who I am!"

The intense pain made Gianna briefly clear her mind as she tried to open her eyes.

"...Felix..."

He bent down, kissing her cherry-red lips, his hands around her waist, enjoying her like a forbidden fruit.

She felt like she was burning in flames one moment and then plunged into icy waters the next.

The night was still young.

Upon waking, Gianna felt a pang of soreness running through her body, causing her to let out a soft moan. Her eyes snapped open, and seeing Felix lying close by, his sharp features in full view, confirmed that last night had indeed been real.

Rubbing her throbbing temples only intensified her headache.

Stirred by her movement, Felix woke up, too.

Their gazes met, and for a moment, neither broke the silence.

Gianna, with a sore throat and hoarse voice, struggled to speak and was suddenly reminded of the night's passions as her hand involuntarily tightened by her side.

After a long pause, she whispered, "Let's pretend last night never happened."

They were on the brink of divorce, and she didn't want to complicate things further or give Felix the impression that she was trying to use the incident to stay in his life.

Felix's eyes went cold. "What do you mean by that?!"

Gianna frowned, gazing directly at him. "We're both adults, Felix. It was an accident. Trust me, I don't expect you to take responsibility."

Felix let out a bitter laugh. "Should I be thanking you for your generosity?"

He had hoped that their meeting might have bridged the gap between them, but it was evident that he had been mistaken.

Gianna fell silent.

She wasn't asking him for anything, so what was he so upset about?

They were at an impasse when Felix suddenly spoke up, "I saved you last night. I did it to help you. Don't you think you owe me?"

Gianna stared at him in disbelief, her voice showing hints of anger. "You were the one who took advantage, and now I'm supposed to be responsible for you?!"

"Remind me, who was clinging to me again and again last night? Need me to jog your memory?" he prodded.

Her cheeks turned slightly red with embarrassment and warmth. Even though the events of the previous night were somewhat blurry, some memories remained vivid. Just thinking about them made her feel incredibly warm.

Felix's mood brightened slightly at her silence. "Looks like you haven't forgotten, after all."

Gianna clenched her teeth and glared at him. "What do you want?!"

"Stop mentioning 'divorce' around me," he demanded.

"That's impossible!"

Her gaze turned icy in an instant, devoid of any warmth.

"Felix, keep your domestic bliss and your extracurricular activities to yourself. I don’t want to be caught between you and Bella. If it weren't you last night, it would've been some other man!" she snapped.

Her words angered him. He seized her wrist and held her down beneath him.

"Say that again!"

They were close together, and Gianna's face was flushed—whether from anger or embarrassment, it was difficult to discern.

"Let me go first!"

Felix leaned in and bit her lip. As she winced in pain, he spoke in a cold tone, "Now that you've been in my bed, forget about getting involved with any other man. In my world, there's no divorce, only widowhood."

Gianna met his gaze with a frosty look. "Are you trying to provoke me into killing you?"

Felix raised an eyebrow. "If you're capable."

After that, he let go and stood up. His well-proportioned body caught her eye, the abdominal muscles perfectly defined, showcasing his impressive physique.

Memories from last night flooded her mind, and she quickly looked away, coldly asking, "Are you some kind of pervert?"

A trace of amusement flickered in Felix's eyes. He spoke softly, "You've already seen everything there was to see last night. Isn't it a bit late to play shy?"

"Get out!"

When Gianna pulled the blanket over her head, Felix didn't tease her anymore. He got dressed and said, "I've ordered some clothes for you; they should be delivered soon. There's a meeting later, and we'll have dinner together tonight."

"I'm busy!"

"I'll pick you up when it's time."

Gianna ignored him, and only when the room fell silent again did she uncover her head, letting out a sigh of resignation.

If she had known that last night would lead to this chaos, she wouldn't have returned for her phone. It appeared that Felix was now even less inclined to agree to a divorce. She reached for her phone on the nightstand and dialed a number.

"Find out who was in room 5 on the eighth floor of the Grandeur last night!"

After issuing the command, Gianna placed her phone down and went to the bathroom for a shower. She cursed Felix under her breath when she noticed the marks on her body.

Not long after her bath, the clothes Felix ordered arrived, complete with intimates.

Gianna put on the clothes and discovered they fit perfectly, causing a mix of emotions to darken her face.

She called her assistant, Faith, to say she wouldn’t be coming into the office today and then left the Grandeur.

Meanwhile, on her way to the company, Sophia had already identified the person who had drugged Gianna the night before.

"Felix, the guy who planned against Miss Redstone is Yusuf. He wields much power in North Town, holds stakes in many clubs, and made his fortune through some shady businesses back in the day. He has connections on both sides of the law."

Felix frowned and said coldly, "Make sure he’s gone from Dawnridge by the end of the day!"

"Understood."

...

In the MY FASHION office, Faith hesitated for a moment before finally deciding to call Uriah.

"What do you want?!"

Uriah sounded irritated. "Faith, we’ve broken up. Don’t keep hounding me; it’s unattractive."

Faith smirked, "Don’t worry, I have no interest in losers. I just need you to return the dress I left in your car last night!"

"I'll have my assistant drop it off," he said curtly.

Without saying anything more, Faith ended the call.

Uriah instructed his secretary to retrieve Faith's dress from his car and deliver it. As the secretary prepared to leave with the dress, she was stopped by Jasmine Astor, who had arrived to see Uriah.

Jasmine's eyes lit up with delight at the sight of the dress, already recognizing the designer clothing. "Is this the surprise gift Uriah mentioned for me?"

Earlier that day, Uriah had promised her a surprise.

A flicker of embarrassment crossed the secretary's face. "Miss Astor, this dress belongs to Miss Walton. Uriah requested that I return it."

Jasmine's smile froze, and jealousy and rage flared in her eyes. "Did Uriah buy that dress?"

The secretary shook her head. "I'm not sure about that."

"Just give me the dress. I'll ask Uriah myself."

She still adored the dress just as much as before; whether or not Uriah bought it didn't matter to her. Jasmine Astor was determined not to return it to Faith.

She planned to make it perfectly clear to Faith that both the dress and Uriah belonged to her and only her.

The secretary's face was a portrait of difficulty. "Jasmine, it was Uriah's direct order. I..."

Before she could finish, Jasmine Astor cut her off abruptly, her tone icy. "Don't worry, if anything happens, I'll take full responsibility!"

Seizing the dress from the secretary's hands, she strode into Uriah Corporation.

Watching her leaving figure, the secretary sighed helplessly, suspecting that catering to Uriah's new girlfriend was going to be a tough job from now on.

As noon drew closer and the dress had yet to be returned, Faith, unable to hold back, dialed Uriah's number once more.

"Why haven't you returned my dress yet?!"
