Chapter 421
Timothy sneered, "You shouldn't be asking me this question, but should be asking yourself what you can do to make Constance forgive your daughter."
Preston's expression froze on his face, filled with anger, but he didn't dare show it in front of Timothy.
Timothy stood up and said word by word, "I'll give you three days. If you can't come up with a way to appease my daughter, I won't let the Chambers Group off the hook!"
With that, Timothy left directly.
Preston was furious and called Jade into the office, shouting, "Bring Jennifer to me!"
Jennifer was always causing him trouble!
Half an hour later, as soon as Jennifer walked into Preston's office, he slapped her to the ground.
"Jennifer, your little antics were one thing, but you got fired from Luminary Ventures Group for offending Constance, and you still haven't learned your lesson. Now you're online cursing Constance. Do you want to see the Chambers Group destroyed?" Preston shouted.
Jennifer clutched her aching face, unable to hold back her previous grievances and resentment.
She looked up at Preston, crying, "You all blame me! Is it all my fault? If Constance hadn't targeted me from the start, I wouldn't have fought back. She was wrong too, so why are you hitting me?"
Preston looked at her coldly. "The Chambers family isn't as strong as the Drake family, yet you still provoke them. That's your fault!"
"She's just an adopted daughter of the Drake family! Her biological parents are from Dawnridge. How can she compare to me?"
Seeing Jennifer show no remorse, Preston's face turned red with anger, and he said coldly, "I'll give you two choices: first, go to Luminary Ventures Group and beg Constance for forgiveness; second, we cut ties, and I won't care about anything you do from now on."
Jennifer's eyes filled with disbelief. "Dad, why are you forcing me like this? You're pushing me to my death!"
If she went to Luminary Ventures Group to beg Constance for forgiveness, the news would spread through Thundertop's socialite circle in no time. How could she ever show her face among them again?
"This is all your own doing. If you don't apologize, believe me, the Chambers Group will be bankrupt in three days!"
Facing Preston's angry gaze, Jennifer sneered, "In your heart, the company is always the most important."
Preston slapped her again, shaking with rage. "You fool! You caused this mess, so you should fix it. If you can't, get out of the Chambers family!"
His eyes were filled with overwhelming anger, and Jennifer finally felt scared.
Compared to losing face, losing her status as the Chambers family's eldest daughter was more painful for her.
"Fine, I'll go!" Jennifer said reluctantly.
She would beg Constance for forgiveness, but she would also remember today's humiliation and make Constance pay one day!
After leaving the Chambers Group, Jennifer drove straight to Luminary Ventures Group and knelt at the entrance.
The receptionist, who knew her, quickly approached when she saw Jennifer kneeling.
"Jennifer, what are you doing?" the receptionist asked.
Jennifer's expression was cold as she said word by word, "I spread rumors about Constance online. Now I'm here to kneel and apologize! Until she forgives me, I won't get up!"
The receptionist frowned and quickly said, "Jennifer, there's no need for this. Besides, kneeling here affects the company's image."
Jennifer gave her a cold look. "Just tell Constance about this. Besides, I'm kneeling in a place that doesn't belong to Luminary Ventures Group."
Hearing this, the receptionist stopped persuading her. "Alright, I'll contact Ms. Drake."
The news of Jennifer kneeling at Luminary Ventures Group to beg for Constance's forgiveness quickly spread through Thundertop's high society, with some even going to the entrance to take photos and share them in their groups.
[Jennifer always acted so high and mighty, and now she's kneeling in public to beg for forgiveness!][I saw those nasty things she posted about Constance online. Kneeling at Luminary Ventures Group to beg for forgiveness is already lucky for her. Otherwise, with the Drake family's power, it wouldn't be hard to send her to jail!]
[I kind of feel sorry for Jennifer. The Drake family is being a bit overbearing. Given Jennifer's pride, kneeling at the company entrance must be more painful than death for her!]
[She brought this on herself. Who forced her to type those words and curse Constance? If you're so sympathetic, why don't you go kneel with her?]
When Holly came to tell Constance about Jennifer kneeling downstairs, Constance's expression didn't change at all.
"I see," Constance simply replied.
Surprised by Constance's indifferent reaction, Holly couldn't help but frown. "Ms. Drake, if you let her keep kneeling downstairs, it might affect your reputation."
Constance smirked at her. "So what do you think I should do?"
Holly couldn't shake the feeling that Constance's gaze was mocking her.
Her hands clenched at her sides, but she couldn't help but say, "I think Jennifer has learned her lesson. If you go down and forgive her now, you'll gain a good reputation."
"What good is a good reputation to me? Besides, I didn't make her kneel. If she wants to kneel, just let her!"
Holly didn't agree with Constance's approach, but seeing Constance's cold face, she couldn't say a word.
"Go back to work. I'm busy. Don't bother me with such trivial matters."
"Okay."
Everyone was speculating when Constance would show up, but it wasn't until the end of the workday that Constance walked out of Luminary Ventures Group. She didn't even look at Jennifer and left directly.
Jennifer had been kneeling all day and was on the verge of collapse.
When she saw Constance appear, she thought her suffering was finally over, but Constance didn't even glance at her and left directly.
Jennifer was so angry she almost fainted. She struggled to stand and stumbled towards Constance.
Finally blocking her, Jennifer looked at her weakly and said, "Constance, I apologize for the things I said about you online. Can you forgive me?"
Constance's gaze finally fell on her face, and seeing the hatred in her eyes, she smiled. "Do you really regret saying those things about me?"
"Yes, if you don't believe me, I can keep kneeling and apologizing." As she spoke, Jennifer was about to kneel in front of her again.
Constance just looked at her indifferently, without any reaction.
Jennifer felt a glimmer of hope and a cold smile appeared on her lips as she lowered her head.
However, just as she knelt down, Constance's mocking voice rang in her ears. "Jennifer, do you think kneeling in public will force me to say I forgive you?"
