Chapter 90
Felix put away his phone and looked up at a distressed Bella sitting across from him. In the past, he would have gone over to comfort her, but now he felt somewhat irritated.
"Belle, I'm having dinner with you today to thank you for your efforts for Grandma's birthday banquet. It's not about whether I want to or not," he said.
Bella forced a bitter smile. "Even if you divorce my sister, I still won't have a chance, right?"
She lowered her gaze, involuntarily tightening her grip on her side. She could lose to anyone, but why did it have to be Gianna? She couldn't accept it.
After a few seconds of silence, Felix spoke up. "Belle, I only see you as a sister now."
Tears welled up in Bella's eyes. "Felix, I can never see you as my brother. I've been with you, I've had feelings for you. I can't go back to being just a sister. If I hadn't been so stubborn, if I had come back earlier, would you not have fallen in love with my sister?"
"Belle, there are no 'ifs' in this world."
"But she doesn't love you, and you still got divorced."
Felix's expression turned cold, and he said each word with emphasis. "There's only a misunderstanding between us. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, we will be together again."
Bella shook her head. "You don't understand her. Once she makes a decision, she won't change her mind."
She had put in so much effort to get them divorced, and she would never let them reconcile!
"It's none of your business."
Felix's expression turned icy as he looked into Gianna's Bella’s eyes.
He never used to look at her with such eyes, and Bella felt an overwhelming pain in her chest, almost suffocating her.
She stood up, took a deep breath, and said, "Felix, I'm tired. Can you take me home?"
Felix didn't say a word and got up, walking out of the restaurant.
On the way back, Bella kept crying, but Felix didn't comfort her as he used to.
When the car stopped at the entrance of the Redstone family's house, Bella turned her red eyes to look at him. "Felix, I'll wait for you. I won't give up!"
After saying that, Bella got out of the car and left, as if she was afraid to hear anything that would further break her heart that Felix might say.
Felix drove to Villa and found it pitch dark inside. He called Sophia Mars and learned that Gianna had moved to Northern Suburbs Villa.
Without hesitation, he turned the steering wheel and headed straight to North Town Villa. Just as he stopped at the door, Jonah appeared and knocked, holding a plate of fruits. Gianna quickly opened the door and let him in.
Felix involuntarily tightened his grip on the steering wheel, his face filled with anger.
It hadn't been long since their "divorce," yet Gianna was shamelessly associating with Jonah!
It was infuriating!
He dialed Sophia Mars' number and said coldly, "Find something for Jonah to do immediately! Preferably something that would make him leave Dawnridge right away!"
In the living room of the Villa, Gianna, Laura, and Jonah were playing a card game called "Dou Dizhu."
Laura and Jonah had only found out half an hour ago that they both knew Gianna. Considering they had also recently collaborated on a movie, Laura invited Jonah to join them for some fun.
Suddenly, Jonah's phone rang.
Just a few moments after answering the call, his expression changed immediately.
"I have something urgent to attend to. Let's get together next time."
Seeing Jonah's anxious look, Gianna nodded, "Alright, go take care of your business."
After Jonah left, they didn't continue playing cards. They tidied up the table and sat on the couch, watching TV.
"Gianna, does Jonah have a crush on you?"
Gianna was eating watermelon and choked when she heard the question.
After finally swallowing the watermelon, she turned her head in surprise and said to Laura, "Have you been watching too many romantic dramas lately?"
"No, do you know how reserved Jonah usually is?" Laura replied. "On set, he rarely speaks a word unless it's related to filming. Even when someone tries to have a conversation with him, he keeps his distance. Although I've worked with him on a movie, I rarely see him smile."
When they were playing cards together earlier, Jonah's smile seemed to come from the heart, completely different from his usual reserved self as Redstonelly.
Gianna frowned, "That's because you're not familiar with him. He takes more time to establish trust, but once he considers you a true friend, he becomes very gentle."
Laura shook her head, "I still think he's different with you."
Gianna wanted to explain that it was because she had helped him during his lowest point and even served as his agent behind the scenes for a while. But then she realized that maybe he didn't want others to know about those experiences.
"Enough, don't overthink it. What you're suggesting is impossible!"
Laura wanted to say something more, but the doorbell suddenly rang.
Gianna got up to answer the door and saw that it was Felix outside, which made her frown.
"Mr. Clinton, what brings you here?"
Felix's expression was indifferent. "Why did you sell the Villa I gave you?"
Gianna hadn't expected him to find out so quickly and replied, "I thought you gave it to me, so it's mine and I can decide whether to sell it or keep it."
"Are you together with Jonah?"
Gianna felt somewhat puzzled by Felix's questioning gaze.
"Mr. Clinton, it seems like this has nothing to do with you."
A cold glint flashed in Felix's eyes. Just as he was about to speak, they heard Laura's voice coming from the living room.
"Gianna, is the Movie Star back?"
Worried that Laura might misunderstand, Gianna hurriedly said, "No, it's just a person selling goods."
While speaking, Gianna pushed Felix out and closed the door, looking at him and saying, "Mr. Clinton, if there's nothing else, please leave now. I don't want my friend to misunderstand."
Felix sneered, "Are you afraid of your friend's misunderstanding or Jonah's misunderstanding?"
Gianna was annoyed by his words and retorted, "Not everyone is like you, able to seamlessly transition to the next relationship after divorce!"
Felix furrowed his brow, about to ask when exactly he had seamlessly transitioned, when he suddenly remembered the incident with her and Laura when he went out to eat with Bella.
He raised an eyebrow and said, "Are you jealous?"
It seemed that she didn't show as much indifference when there were other women around him.
Gianna rolled her eyes. "Mr. Clinton, excessive self-love is a disease!"
"How's your work going lately?"
His seemingly random question left Gianna speechless.
"What exactly is your purpose in coming here today?!"
"No particular purpose, just wanted to see if you're doing well."
"Thanks, I'm doing very well, and it would be even better if you didn't appear in front of me."
As they were talking, footsteps approached.
"Gianna, where are you?"
Gianna's face changed, and she grabbed Felix's hand, pulling him into the nearby shadow, while she stood at the doorway to answer Laura.
"Laura, I've sent the person away, come in right away."
As soon as she finished speaking, Laura opened the Villa door and saw only Gianna outside, which finally put her at ease.
"If you didn't come in soon, I would have thought you were kidnapped!"
"Okay, I'll go in right away, you go in first. I drank alcohol just now and want to take a walk to sober up," said Gianna.
"Then I'll go with you," said Laura.
