Chapter 178:Splurging for Her

The "Love of a Lifetime" was a necklace designed by a top jeweler for his wife. After she passed away, he kept it as a cherished possession.

Many wanted to buy it, but he always refused. When the designer died, the necklace went missing.

Gianna later found a necklace that looked similar but wasn't the same. It used the same materials, but the details were different.

"This isn't the 'Love of a Lifetime.'"

Felix nodded, "It's called 'Stardust'."

Gianna admired the tiny diamonds sparkling like a starry sky.

"It's beautiful, thank you."

"Let me help you put it on."

Felix placed the necklace around her neck. Already dressed up, the necklace made her look even more stunning.

Gianna loved it, touching it fondly. The designer must have been very talented.

"Who designed this? I'd love to meet them."

Felix's eyes darkened, "As long as you like it."

After dinner, on their way back, Gianna noticed all the billboards had birthday wishes for her.

She turned to Felix, "Felix, thank you for tonight. I'm really happy."

Since returning to the Redstone family, no one had shown her such open affection.

"This is what a boyfriend should do. Besides, don't you think thanking me makes us seem distant?"

Gianna smiled and nodded, "Alright, I understand."

At home, Gianna got a call from Faith.

"Gianna, I heard Felix spent a fortune on fireworks for you today?"

"Yes, aren't you on a business trip? How did you hear about it?"

"Even abroad, it's hard not to hear about something as grand as what Felix did."

Gianna laughed, "True."

"Happy birthday! I'll bring your gift back tomorrow. I won't intrude on your time together. Bye!"

After hanging up, Gianna put away her phone and went to take a bath.

Meanwhile, at the Redstone family home.

After the party, Bella saw Felix's birthday surprise for Gianna on social media and angrily threw her phone. Everything should have been hers. Gianna had stolen Felix and everything that rightfully belonged to her!

Bella vowed she wouldn't let Gianna off!

Sitting across from her, Lauren was in a daze and didn't notice Bella's outburst until Bella called her several times.

"Bella, what's wrong?" Lauren asked.

Bella looked inquisitive, "Lauren, what's wrong with you? You've been distracted since the party ended. Did something happen?"

Lauren shook her head, "Nothing, I'm just a bit tired. I'll go to my room now. You should rest early too."

"Okay."

Back in her room, Lauren sat on the bed, still in a daze, until a phone call startled her.

Seeing it was from the private investigator, Lauren quickly answered.

"How is it? Where is he now?"

"Lauren, Julian went straight to the office after leaving home and hasn't left since."

Hearing that Julian was indeed working late, Lauren finally felt relieved.

"Alright, I understand." Just as she was about to hang up, the private investigator spoke up, "Mr. Redstone is leaving the office now. We won't follow him any further."

"Alright."

Lauren waited at home for over an hour, but Julian still hadn't returned, and she couldn't help but let her mind wander.

After hesitating for a while, Lauren decided to call Julian.

"Where are you right now?" she asked.

Julian's sounded impatient as he responded, "Where else would I be but at the office? Do you need something?"

Hearing this, Lauren's anger flared up instantly.

"Julian, you left the office over an hour ago. Where exactly are you working overtime?!"

There was a brief silence on the other end before Julian's angry voice came through, "Lauren, are you having me followed?!"

Lauren let out a cold laugh, "So what if I am? You've been lying to me, Julian. Where are you right now?!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Julian hung up the phone.

Half an hour later, Julian returned home.

As soon as he opened the bedroom door, Lauren lunged at him, grabbing his collar with a crazed look on her face, "Julian, where were you just now?!"

Julian shoved her to the ground with a look of disgust, "I was out socializing. Do I need to report that to you?! What exactly are you suspicious of?!"

Lauren's eyes were filled with doubt, "What did you talk about with that woman in the gazebo tonight? She wasn't even on the guest list. What's your relationship with her?!"

Julian was startled, not expecting Lauren to have seen him talking to Daisy.

However, he quickly composed himself, glaring at Lauren with anger. "She's a client of mine. She came with a friend. The women you usually hang out with only know how to eat, drink, and have fun, so of course, you don't know her!"

Lauren's eyes flickered with doubt, "Really?"

Julian looked at her impatiently, "Believe it or not! I have a lot of work to do and no time to waste on you!"

With that, he turned and left.

Lauren stared intently at his retreating figure until he disappeared from sight, then lowered her head.

'Julian, you better not be lying to me!' she thought.

The next day, just before the end of the workday, Gianna received a call from Jonah.

"Gianna, are you free tonight? I'd like to take you out for dinner."

They arranged to meet at a restaurant. Because of the evening rush hour, Gianna arrived half an hour late.

Entering the private room and seeing Jonah, she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry I'm late."

Jonah smiled warmly, "It's alright, no rush."

He then handed her a box, "A birthday gift. See if you like it."

Gianna opened the box to find a bracelet that looked very expensive.

She frowned, "This birthday gift is too extravagant."

Seeing that Gianna was reluctant to accept it, Jonah said, "It's not extravagant at all. If it weren't for you, I might not even be sitting here having dinner with you."

Gianna pursed her lips. She didn't want to accept it at first, but knowing Jonah's personality, she decided to take it and made a mental note to give him a gift of similar value on his birthday.

"Let's order. See what you'd like to eat."

Gianna took the menu, "Since you gave me such an expensive birthday gift, this meal is on me."

This time, Jonah didn't refuse and nodded, "Alright."

In a private room not far from them, Bella and Thomas sat across from each other.

They were discussing the child Bella was carrying, but the conversation was clearly not going well.

Thomas's expression was cold, his gaze icy, "What will it take for you to agree to abort it?"
