Chapter 194
Gianna rushed to the hospital, and it was already past nine at night.
As soon as she got off the elevator, she saw Faith and Emily's parents talking outside the hospital room.
She quickly walked over. "What happened? How did Emily pass out?"
Alexander, looking angry, said, "Emily got a black box tonight with a dead rat and a death threat. She was terrified and, with all the online hate, she got too emotional and fainted. Luckily, she's okay. Sorry to trouble you, Gianna."
"As long as she's fine. Emily works for MY FASHION, and since this is about the plagiarism issue, it's my duty to check on her."
Alexander sighed and looked at Gianna. "Gianna, I've almost figured this out. Did Emily really plagiarize?"
Before he could finish, Gianna cut in calmly, "Mr. Johnson, you know your daughter. I believe she didn't plagiarize and will find proof to clear her name."
Seeing Gianna's determination, Alexander nodded. "Alright, I believe you."
After chatting a bit, Gianna and Faith left.
On the way back, Faith said, "Bella is so shameless. Someone from LR Design Studio stole Emily's designs, and now they're suing MY FASHION and Emily. It's outrageous!"
"Talking about it won't help. We need to find proof that LR Design Studio plagiarized MY FASHION."
Faith looked puzzled, "Why do you trust Emily so much? What if she did plagiarize LR Design Studio's designs?"
"The clothes LR Design Studio is selling overseas aren't Emily's original drafts but the first version I revised for her. Unless I also plagiarized LR Design Studio, there's no way Emily could have."
Faith looked shocked, then frowned, "We need to check everyone who had access to your revised designs to find out who leaked them."
Gianna said calmly, "I asked Emily, and she didn't show the designs to anyone. Besides Felix saving the designs for me, no one else saw them."
Faith scratched her head, "Felix is your boyfriend. He wouldn't do that. And Emily wouldn't hand over the designs willingly. This forms a closed loop."
Gianna smiled, "We must have missed something. Don't worry, I've sent the design photo LR Design Studio posted on Facebook for analysis. We should have results soon."
Faith nodded, "We can only wait for the results."
Soon, the court summons arrived at MY FASHION.
Gianna had the legal department handle it and called a shareholders' meeting to discuss when to start mass production after the new product launch.
The meeting had just started when Hayden said, "Gianna, these clothes are still under plagiarism controversy. Isn't it too soon to prepare for mass production? If MY FASHION loses the lawsuit, we won't recover the production costs."
Gianna looked at Hayden and said calmly, "Mr. Walton, rest assured, MY FASHION will not lose the lawsuit."
"Gianna, you're confident. If MY FASHION were just you, you could do whatever you want. But now, every decision you make affects us shareholders, so I have to be cautious."
The meeting room went silent. Even though the other shareholders didn't speak, Gianna knew they agreed with Hayden.
She nodded, "Mr. Walton has a point. If we don't prepare for production, what should we do next?"
Hayden, caught off guard by her agreement, became wary, "You're the president, Gianna. I'll follow your lead."
Gianna smiled, "Mr. Walton, if you follow my lead, why did you oppose me earlier? Speak up now, or don't blame me for not giving you a chance."
Hayden's expression darkened. After a deep breath, he said, "Since you've asked, Gianna, I'll speak."
Gianna nodded, "Please go ahead, Mr. Walton."
"Many companies in Dawnridge want to enter the fashion industry but don't want to invest too much initially. They want to collaborate with companies like ours that have factories and machines. They provide the designs, and we produce the finished products. I've been in contact with a few companies, and their offers are reasonable. I suggest we take on some of these orders to tide us over until the lawsuit with LR Design Studio is resolved. What do you think, Gianna?"
Gianna thought for a few seconds, "You make make a good point, Mr. Walton. I agree with your proposal. What about the rest of you?"
Faith frowned, "I disagree. These orders are usually large, taking at least a month or even several months. If we take on a few of these orders, the factory won't have time to produce MY FASHION's new products for a year!"
Hayden glared at Faith, "The machines need to run for the company to profit. Should we just let the factory stay idle until the lawsuit ends? Who will pay the workers' wages? You?"
Faith was about to speak when Gianna interrupted, "Enough, stop arguing. I understand your points. We'll take one or two of these orders to tide us over until the lawsuit ends. Mr. Walton, since you proposed this, you will handle this project."
Hayden's eyes flashed with disbelief, then he quickly said, "Alright, I won't let you down, Gianna!"
After the meeting, Faith angrily approached Gianna, "Gianna, why did you agree to Hayden's proposal? He's always looking out for his own interests. There must be something in it for him to be so eager!"
Gianna smiled, "As long as he doesn't violate company rules, it's his skill to gain benefits."
Faith gritted her teeth, "It's impossible for him not to violate company rules! He doesn't care about the company's interests, only his own gain!"
"Isn't that better?"
Faith looked at her in disbelief, "What do you mean?"
"If he harms the company's interests and violates company rules, we can remove him from the board."
Faith finally understood, "You're planning to do away with Hayden?"
Gianna remained calm, "If he does his job well, I won't do anything to him."
Faith shook her head.
Hayden valued profit so much that he wouldn't care about the consequences as long as he could make money. But Gianna didn't plan to warn him. Over the years, he had gained too much from MY FASHION's 10% shares.
"If there's nothing else, get back to work. I have a lot of documents to review," Gianna said.
As soon as Faith left, the internal phone rang. "Gianna, the president of the Musk Group wants to have dinner with you tonight to discuss the cooperation between MY FASHION and the Musk Group."
