Chapter 200
"The developer of Fantasia City took off with the money, and now the unpaid workers are gearing up to sue the Clinton Group," James replied.
Felix's eyes flashed coldly, his voice icy, "Find him and bring him back!"
Fantasia City's development was a joint venture between the Clinton Group and a developer. With the developer gone, the workers naturally expected the Clinton Group to step up.
"What about the workers demanding their pay?" James asked.
"Send someone to verify, re-sign the workers' contracts, and pay the overdue wages so they can keep working," Felix replied.
James nodded, "Got it, I'll handle it."
After that, Felix picked up Gianna's contract and continued reading.
Soon, his phone lit up with a message from Bella. Felix opened it indifferently, and his eyes darkened after reading it.
An hour later, Bella sat across from Felix, looking exhausted and teary-eyed.
Felix's expression was cold as he spoke slowly, "Are you sure you want to use your second wish for this?"
Bella bit her lip, eyes full of tears, "Isn't this what you wanted, Felix? You pushed me to this point. I have no other choice!"
Felix's face remained emotionless, "Fine, I won't pull the one billion dollar investment, and I won't take action against LR Design Studio."
Bella's hand clenched at her side. Seeing Felix wouldn't go easy on her the next time around, she left without another word.
Back at LR Design Studio, Ella rushed to her as soon as she reached the top floor, "Bella, where have you been? The shareholders are in the conference room, and it's chaos!"
Bella nodded, "I know, I'll handle it. You get back to work."
When she entered the conference room, everyone turned to look at her. The room fell silent for a moment before the shareholders started hauling their accusations at her.
"Bella, where did fifty million dollars of the Clinton Group's one billion dollar investment go? Did you embezzle it?"
"Do we even need to ask? She must have diverted it. Otherwise, where's the fifty million dollar shortfall from?!"
"Now the Clinton Group wants their one billion dollars back. We've never seen the money, and we're not covering the fifty-million-dollar gap. Bella, you figure it out. If you can't, economic crimes only get you a few years in prison at most!"
Bella walked to her seat, her gaze icy, "So you're saying this one billion dollars has nothing to do with you? Whether it's a loss or a profit, it has nothing to do with you?"
The shareholders' expressions varied.
If it was a profit, they wanted a share. But now that the Clinton Group wanted their money back, and there was a fifty million dollar shortfall, they didn't want to be involved.
After a moment, a shareholder spoke up, "Bella, don't try to fool us. The Clinton Group wants their one billion dollars back, so there's no profit. You want us to cover the fifty million dollar gap. We're not that stupid!"
Seeing the others agree, Bella smiled slowly, "So, whether this one billion dollars is a loss or a profit has nothing to do with you, right?"
Under Bella's questioning, everyone agreed it had nothing to do with them.
Bella chuckled, "Alright, I'll handle the fifty million dollars myself. Meeting adjourned."
A shareholder looked at her suspiciously, "Bella, can you really come up with fifty million dollars?"
"Whether I can or not is none of your concern. Get back to work," Bella snapped.
Seeing Bella's dismissive attitude, the shareholders didn't press further. As long as they didn't have to fork out any money for it, they didn't care.
After they left, Bella asked Ella to notify the PR department for a meeting.
She allocated twenty million dollars to handle the PR crisis online.
"No matter what, I don't want to see any news about LR Design Studio and MY FASHION trending in the next three days."
The PR manager nodded, "Got it."
After dealing with that, Bella returned to her office and soon saw a notification of $950 million deposited into her private bank account.
This money was originally for the company's development, but since the shareholders only wanted the benefits without contributing, she had to kick them out first. Once she became the sole shareholder of LR Design Studio, she would reinvest the money.
In the evening, Gianna and Felix went to visit Natalie. The doctors had done a full-body check-up and found her health indicators normal, so they agreed to discharge her.
When they arrived at the ward, the nurse had just finished packing Natalie's things.
Seeing Gianna, Natalie said, "Gianna, you work so hard, you didn't have to come to pick me up."
Gianna sat down beside her, "How could I not? I heard you hadn't been eating well at home. Tonight, Felix and I will have dinner with you."
Natalie was overjoyed and nodded, "Alright, Thomas recently bought dozens of chickens from a friend's organic farm to help me recover. They taste pretty good. I'll have the kitchen prepare one tonight."
"Great, sounds like we'll have a delicious meal tonight."
They chatted and laughed all the way back to Harmony Garden. Gianna secretly checked Natalie's health from time to time and was relieved to find she was indeed fine.
As soon as they walked into the living room, Natalie said to Felix, "Felix, go attend to your work. I have something to discuss with Gianna, and it's not suitable for a man to listen in."
Felix glanced at Gianna, nodded, and said, "Alright."
Natalie pulled Gianna to sit on the sofa, holding her hand, "Gianna, is Felix treating you well?"
Gianna blushed, "He's been good."
"That's good. Although Felix is my grandson, I genuinely consider you family. If he ever bullies you, I won't stand for it. But if you two can reconcile, I would have no regrets."
Gianna bit her lip and said softly, "Natalie, I haven't decided whether to remarry Felix yet. I might need some more time."
Natalie smiled, "Gianna, you misunderstood. I'm not trying to pressure you. Take your time."
"Alright, thank you, Natalie."
Although the Redstone family didn't like her, Gianna was grateful to have met such an understanding and kind elder like Natalie.
They chatted for a while longer before the maid, Celeste, came to call them for dinner.
Natalie had Celeste serve Gianna a bowl of chicken soup, smiling while saying, "Gianna, drink more. You've lost weight from working so hard, and it makes me worry."
Gianna pinched her cheeks, "I haven't, and besides, being slimmer looks better."
"Gianna, you look good no matter what, but don't go on a diet like others. It could harm your health," Natalie advised.
Gianna nodded, "Alright, I know!"
Taking the chicken soup from Celeste, Gianna took a sip and her expression suddenly changed.
Seeing her put the bowl aside after one sip, Natalie quickly asked, "Gianna, why aren't you drinking? Is it not good?"
Gianna shook her head, "Grandma, it's just a bit hot. I'll drink it later."
"Alright."
Natalie was about to ask Celeste to serve her a bowl when Gianna suddenly said, "Natalie, it seems like this soup needs a bit more salt. I'll go add some in the kitchen."
With that, Gianna got up and walked towards the kitchen with the soup.
Natalie's voice called from behind, "Gianna, let Celeste do it."
Gianna lowered her eyes, "I'll do it."
Felix, sensing something was wrong, stood up and said, "I'll go check."
Natalie nodded, "Alright, and don't let Gianna carry the soup back. She might burn herself."
Felix walked into the kitchen and saw Gianna staring blankly at the pot of chicken soup. He approached her and whispered, "Is there something wrong with the soup?"
