Chapter 396

"Thank you." Holly pushed open the door and got out of the car.

As soon as she closed the door, the black Maybach started up and quickly disappeared from her sight.

By the time Felix and Constance returned to Golden Bay Villas, it was already past eleven at night.

Constance was sleeping so soundly that even when Felix picked her up, she didn't wake up.

It wasn't until he placed her on the bed that her hands suddenly hooked around his neck, and her legs clamped around his waist, pressing her entire body tightly against him.

Felix's throat moved, and his body stiffened involuntarily.

In the three years she had been gone, he hadn't been with another woman. So Constance's actions now were like playing with fire.

Constance moaned softly and slowly opened her eyes, seeing Felix's firm jaw and delicate features.

She unconsciously reached out to touch his face, a smile curling at the corners of her mouth. "So handsome."

Felix looked down at her. Her eyes were half-open, filled with confusion, her cheeks flushed from drinking, and her cherry-red lips slightly parted, as if inviting a taste.

Felix asked, "Constance, do you know what you're doing right now?"

"I'm uncomfortable." Constance frowned, releasing his neck and starting to tug at her clothes.

Afraid she might fall, Felix quickly reached out to hold her waist, pressing their bodies tightly together.

Constance paused, lifting her dazed eyes to look at him, her face full of confusion.

Felix's heart trembled violently, and he finally couldn't resist lowering his head to capture her crimson lips.

Constance was stunned. It took her a while to remember to struggle, but her strength was insignificant compared to Felix’s. Her hands, pressed against his chest, were soft and powerless, leaving her at his mercy.

After the kiss, both of them were panting. Constance leaned against Felix, her whole body as soft as water.

Felix took a deep breath, suppressing his inner urge.

Even if they were to be together, it had to be when she was sober. Otherwise, his actions now would be no different from taking advantage of her, and Constance would not forgive him.

After placing Constance on the bed, Felix intended to find a servant to help her bathe. Unexpectedly, Constance grabbed his wrist, not letting him leave.

Felix said, "Let go. I'll find someone to help you bathe. It's uncomfortable to sleep like this."

Instead of letting go, Constance held on tighter. "Can't you help me bathe? Why does it have to be someone else?"

Facing Constance's puzzled eyes, Felix felt his throat go dry. "Constance, do you really know what you're saying?"

Constance didn't answer, her clear eyes still fixed on him, as if she wouldn't give up until he gave an answer.

In the end, Felix compromised. He covered Constance's eyes with his hand, his voice hoarse and low. "Constance, don't look at me like that. I might really lose control and make a mistake."

Constance blinked, her long lashes lightly brushing against his palm, tickling him and causing the desire he had just suppressed to resurface.

He took a deep breath and quickly walked out of the bedroom.

It took an hour for the servant to finish bathing Constance.

After covering Constance with a blanket, the servant walked to the study door and knocked. "Mr. Clinton, Mrs. Clinton is asleep."

"Got it." Felix replied.

Felix closed the file. In truth, ever since he entered the study, he had been distracted, only reading two or three pages in an hour.

He took a deep breath and returned to the bedroom.

The master bedroom was lit by a small lamp, casting a dim light.

As he slowly approached the bed, Constance's delicate face came into view, her lips slightly swollen from his earlier kiss.

Felix's eyes darkened, and he reluctantly looked away, turning to enter the bathroom.

After showering, he lifted the blanket from the other side of the bed and lay down, extending his arm to pull Constance into his embrace.

They slept soundly through the night.

The next morning, Constance woke up with a splitting headache.

As she reached out to rub her throbbing forehead, she realized she was restrained and couldn't move.

She opened her eyes to see Felix's handsome sleeping face.

At the same time, memories of last night flooded her mind—what she had done to Felix after getting drunk.

Not only did she remember last night's events, but she also vividly recalled the feeling of Felix kissing her. She had even complimented his looks and clung to him.

Recalling that scene, Constance wished she could die on the spot.

Just as she wished she could vanish into thin air, Felix woke up.

Constance quickly closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep, but a soft laugh suddenly reached her ears. "Constance, do you know you're really bad at pretending to sleep?"

Constance opened her eyes and glared at Felix, taking the initiative. "Mr. Clinton, I remember telling you before that if I ended up on your side of the bed, I hoped you would push me away."

Thinking about waking up in his arms every morning, Constance blushed.

Felix said, "I also said that I really like it when you sleep over here. Why don't you tie yourself up before bed? That way, you won't end up on my side."

Constance glared at him. "Do you think you're being funny?"

Felix replied, "I'm just offering a solution out of kindness. I didn't expect you to misunderstand me. I'm really hurt."

Constance thought, 'I remember hearing others describe Felix as cold and ruthless, never showing mercy. Is this really the same person?'

Seeing Constance lost in thought, Felix's eyes darkened. He said in a low voice, "Constance, if you keep holding onto my pajamas, I can't guarantee what might happen."

Constance was stunned. Following his words, she looked down and found that she was indeed holding onto his pajamas. Embarrassed, she quickly let go.

Constance said, "Maybe you deliberately put your pajamas in my hand while I was drunk. After all, last night you..."

Her face turned even redder, and she bit her lip, not finishing her sentence.

Seeing her like this, Felix guessed she remembered last night's events. He couldn't help but smile. "What about last night? I kind of forgot. Can you help me remember?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Constance quickly covered her mouth, her eyes wide. "Felix, don't go too far!"

Felix raised an eyebrow. "How am I going too far? If you don't explain, how can I change?"

Constance felt a surge of anger, thinking, 'He clearly knows what I'm talking about but is deliberately teasing me. Do I really like such a mean-spirited man before?'

She rolled away from him and said angrily, "You know exactly how you're going too far. Don't kiss me when I'm drunk again!"

Felix suddenly understood, looking surprised. "Oh, you meant that. I thought you were talking about me having the servant change your clothes last night."

"I don't want to talk to you!" Constance snapped those words, got out of bed and quickly walked into the bathroom.

Felix's hearty laughter came from outside, making Constance feel even more annoyed. She brushed her teeth angrily, vowing not to talk to him for the next few days!
