Chapter 358

Facing Eliza's worried look, Constance shook her head. "Maybe the road was just too narrow, and I ended up in an accident."

Constance had a hunch this wasn't just a random accident, but she didn't want to stress her parents out, so she kept it to herself.

"Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?" Eliza asked, her eyes red with worry.

"Just a bit dizzy, nothing major."

Eliza nodded. "Alright. I'll have Mira whip up some chicken soup and bring it over."

"Okay."

Once Constance assured them she was fine, Timothy said, "I'll go talk to the doctor about Constance's condition. You stay here with her."

Eliza nodded. "Okay."

After Timothy left, Constance tried to calm Eliza down until she seemed more at ease.

Eliza said, "Constance, you really need to get a driver. Tom and Trevor have only been gone a couple of days, and look what happened. I can't relax like this."

Knowing her mom's personality, Constance agreed, "Okay, Mom. You and Dad should go home and rest later. I'll get a nurse to come over."

Eliza frowned. "No way. I don't trust anyone else to take care of you. I'll do it myself."

Constance sighed. "There's really no need, and you don't know how to take care of people."

Eliza remembered the last time Constance was hospitalized and she tried to take care of her but ended up making things worse. She relented, "Alright, but no nurse. I'll just send over a couple of the housemaids."

"Okay, I'll do as you say."

They chatted for a bit until Timothy came back, looking pretty grim. Seeing his serious face, Eliza quickly asked, "How is it? What did the doctor say?"

Timothy replied, "The doctor said she needs to stay in the hospital for at least a week."

Timothy's expression was complicated. He had learned that Felix and his secretary James had saved Constance. James was still in a coma, but Felix had woken up. Timothy had thanked Felix but also told him to stay away from Constance, saying the Drake family would repay the favor.

Felix, however, was stubborn and insisted it was between him and Constance, which made Timothy furious.

"Does it really take that long?" Eliza looked shocked.

Timothy nodded. "Yes. Constance hit her head and has a mild concussion, so she needs to be observed for a few more days."

Eliza said, "Timothy, should we get some doctors from abroad to check on Constance? I'm really worried."

Timothy was about to agree when Constance quickly said, "No need. I know my own body. I'll be fine. Mom, Dad, you should go home and rest. I need to rest too."

Eliza wanted to wait for the maids to arrive before leaving, but Timothy said, "Alright, then you rest well. We'll come see you tomorrow."

As they walked out of the ward, Eliza looked puzzled and said, "Timothy, what's wrong with you today? Constance just had an accident, and you're okay with leaving her alone in the hospital?"

Timothy's gaze was cold, and he said in a low voice, "Do you know who saved Constance?"

"Who?"

"Felix," Timothy replied.

Eliza's face turned grim, and she gritted her teeth. "He's like a ghost that won't go away. Wasn't it enough that he hurt Constance so badly before? Does he want to hurt her again?"

Timothy sighed. "Even though the Drake Group has cut all ties with the Clinton Group, it hasn't seemed to affect Felix. It looks like he still wants to keep in touch with Constance."

Eliza was fuming. "Where is he now? I'm going to find him right away! I won't let him near Constance again!"

If they hadn't let Constance go back to Dawnridge, she never would have met Felix, and he never would have married her!

Seeing Eliza's angry face and her rushing to find Felix, Timothy quickly pulled her back. "Let's go home first. We need to talk this over with our sons. Besides, Felix did save Constance, and he's still recovering. If you go after him now, what will people say about the Drake family? What will they think of Constance?"

Eliza shot back, "I don't care about reputation. I just want to protect my daughter!"

Even though Constance was adopted, Eliza truly saw her as her own. The thought of the pain Constance had gone through still made her heart ache.

"I know, which is why we need to plan carefully. Luckily, Constance doesn't seem interested in him right now. If we can find her a boyfriend quickly, I doubt Felix would dare to interfere," Timothy said.

Eliza nodded quickly. "You're right. I'll start looking for suitable men for Constance as soon as we get back. Once she's out of the hospital, she can start dating again!"

"Exactly."

Back in the hospital room, after Eliza and Timothy left, Constance remembered she had planned to ask the nurse who saved her, but she forgot when her parents arrived.

Thinking of this, she pressed the call button.

Five minutes later, she found out Felix had saved her. Constance was shocked. She didn't want any interaction with Felix, but now she owed him a huge favor. How was she going to repay it? Just as Constance was mulling over how to repay Felix, Rebecca walked in.

Seeing that Constance was okay, Rebecca finally breathed a sigh of relief and sat down by the bed. "Constance, you're usually a good driver. How did you get into an accident on the mountainside? When I heard your car almost went off the cliff, I was scared to death!"

Seeing Rebecca's lingering fear, Constance said in a low voice, "Rebecca, this accident wasn't an accident; it was deliberate."

"What?" Rebecca was shocked and furious. "Who would dare do such a thing? If I catch them, I won't let them go!"

"I felt like the truck deliberately hit me. Can you help me find out if the truck driver was instructed by someone?"

Rebecca frowned. "Why don't you let the Drake family investigate? They're better at this and could probably find out in a few hours."

"I don't want to worry them, and I haven't offended anyone recently, so I'm still unsure and don't want to jump to conclusions."

Rebecca nodded. "Alright, I get it. I'll call someone to investigate right away."

After making a call to her subordinates, Rebecca looked at Constance and said, "You should rest well during this time. I'll have someone else handle the costumes for that play."

Constance couldn't help but smile. "It's okay. Since I have to stay in the hospital and can't go to work, I can use this time to design the costumes."

Rebecca said, "You're still injured. I don't want people saying I'm mistreating you. Just rest for a few days."

"I'm really fine, and I promised you I'd do it. I can't go back on my word."

Rebecca finally agreed. "Alright, I'll bring the script over tomorrow."

"Okay." Constance smiled.

Rebecca stayed for a while longer, and after the Drake family's maids arrived, she left.

Constance called Grant to explain the car accident and asked for two weeks off.

To her surprise, the next morning, Eric found out about her hospitalization and came over with a bouquet of flowers.

"Miss Drake, I heard you were injured, so I came over right away. How are you feeling now?"

Before Constance could answer, Eliza suddenly said, "Young man, you look familiar. Are you the son of the Chambers family?"
