Chapter 244

After a while, Connor finally spoke up, "Why'd you ask about him out of the blue?"

"The car accident with Jesse and Maria might be linked to him," Felix said. "Thomas thinks the killer is one of you, and you're next. If we find William, we might uncover the truth."

Connor was quiet for a bit before saying, "Even if you find William, it won't help."

Felix frowned, "Why not?"

"He's been insane for years, in a sanatorium in Country F," Connor explained. "I visited him once, and he didn't recognize me. We won't get anything from him."

"Still, we have to try. Do you remember the sanatorium's address and name?"

"I do. I'll write it down, but don't get your hopes up."

After getting the address, Felix left.

Connor lost his appetite and sat at the table for a while before changing and leaving the old house.

He headed straight to the Clinton Group.

When Thomas saw him, his eyes were cold. "What do you want, Connor?"

Connor sat down and sighed, "Thomas, your parents' accident had nothing to do with Ximena and me. Even if I wanted the Clinton Group, I wouldn't harm Jesse and Maria."

Thomas sneered, "I don't believe you. Get out."

He looked back at his documents, "Leave!"

Connor stood there for a moment before finally leaving.

Once the door closed, Thomas's grip on the documents tightened, his eyes cold.

Late at night, Thomas returned to the villa and saw Bella still awake, frowning. "Sleeping early is good for the baby. Why are you up?"

Bella found it amusing. Thomas had wanted her to have an abortion, and now he was concerned. She wondered if he really wanted the baby.

She lowered her eyes, hiding her coldness.

This baby was never meant to be born.

"I was waiting for you," Bella said.

Thomas paused, "What's the matter?"

"Tomorrow is my mom's birthday," Bella replied. "I want to spend time with her. I won't be back tomorrow night."

Thomas nodded indifferently, "Alright, I'll have a gift prepared for her."

"Got it."

As Bella turned to leave, Thomas called her back. "By the way, how much do you know about Gianna?"

Bella was surprised, not understanding why he asked. She shook her head, "I'm not close to her. Why?"

"Nothing. Go get some rest."

As Bella watchedThomas left, her eyes flickered as she went back to the bedroom.

Felix's team worked fast. They found William by the next morning and even sent a video.

In the video, William looked haggard, with a silly smile, drooling, and muttering words like "Food... My stomach hurts," like a two-year-old child.

Felix's face turned grim, and he stayed sullen during breakfast.

Noticing this, Gianna asked, "What's wrong? Why do you look so upset this morning?"

"We found William, but he's already insane," Felix sighed.

Gianna frowned, 'How could a perfectly fine person suddenly go mad?'

"Did you find out why he went insane?"

Felix shook his head, "Not yet, but from the video, it seems we can't get anything out of him."

"Let me see the video."

After watching it, Gianna stayed silent. A grown man doesn't just become foolish overnight. Either he's faking it, or someone made him that way.

Either way, it means someone wants to hide the truth about Thomas's parents' death.

They dropped the subject. After breakfast, Gianna took Felix to MY FASHION for work.

Seeing them arrive together, Faith was shocked and quickly pulled Gianna aside.

"Why'd you bring Felix here?"

Gianna raised an eyebrow and smiled, "He has a lot of experience managing companies, so I asked him to help out."

Faith frowned and whispered, "Gianna, there are rumors about Felix harassing Ivy and hitting Thomas. People avoid him. Bringing him here could hurt our reputation."

Gianna's smile faded, "Do you really think he'd harass Ivy and hit Thomas for no reason?"

Faith sighed, sensing Gianna's displeasure, "No, but as a shareholder, I have to think about the company's image."

After a pause, Gianna said, "He did nothing wrong. We shouldn't care about rumors. If there's a problem, I'll take full responsibility."

Seeing Gianna's determination, Faith didn't push further.

News spread quickly that Gianna made Felix her personal assistant. Some partners, eager to please Thomas, immediately sent people to terminate their contracts with MY FASHION.

Ironically, some had previously benefited from collaborating with the Clinton Group.

Otis came to see Gianna several times in the afternoon, looking increasingly anxious. But with Felix around, he couldn't speak openly and had to email Gianna about more partners wanting to terminate contracts.

Felix, being perceptive, noticed Otis's frequent glances and knew it had something to do with him.

The next time Otis came in, Felix calmly asked, "Otis, is there a problem with me working here?"

Before Otis could answer, Gianna spoke first, "Just focus on your work. Don't worry about anything else."

Felix stood up, walked to Gianna's desk, and looked down at her, "I came to help you. If I'm causing trouble, I should leave."

"No!" Gianna stood up, grabbed his wrist, and said firmly, "You're not leaving!"

Felix was momentarily stunned by her stubbornness. He rarely saw her act so childishly.

"Gianna, my leaving would be good for you and MY FASHION."

Given his reputation, staying would negatively impact her and the company.

Gianna looked at him seriously, "If I keep a distance from you now, I'd be no different from those who wrongly accuse you. You're innocent, and I'll stand by you until the truth comes out!"

As soon as she finished speaking, Felix suddenly pulled her into his arms.
