Chapter 148
Everyone present had their faces changed drastically, filled with fear and terror.
Having achieved his goal, Kevin sneered, "Faith, transfer all your money to me, or else I will make everyone here accompany me in death!"
Before Faith could speak, Gianna spoke first, "Do you know that once the bomb's countdown starts, it cannot be stopped?"
Only disarming it could prevent it from exploding.
Given Kevin's current capabilities, he shouldn't have the money to buy such a bomb, and it was unlikely he could easily obtain such a bomb without connections.
Kevin showed no fear in his eyes and coldly said, "If it can't be stopped, then we'll all die together!"
Gianna furrowed her brows, feeling that Kevin's emotions didn't seem like those of someone making a desperate gamble.
Before Gianna could figure it out, she suddenly saw a tall figure entering through the hall door out of the corner of her eye.
Gianna turned her head and saw Felix, her eyes filled with shock.
"Felix, Kevin has a bomb on him. Get out of here!"
The sudden appearance of Felix startled Kevin behind her, and seeing Felix, he looked incredulous.
Before the Walton family went bankrupt, they had collaborated with the Clinton Group, so Kevin knew Felix.
"Mr. Clinton, what are you doing here?"
Felix looked at him coldly, enunciating each word, "You've taken my wife hostage. What do you think I'm here for?"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone except Faith around them looked shocked.
After all, the news of Felix and Gianna's marriage was only known within a small circle of high society and had yet to be widely spread.
Gianna furrowed her brows. They were divorced, so why was Felix saying this?
But at this moment, there was no time to dwell on these matters. Gianna frowned at Felix and said, "The bomb on him is real. You need to leave!"
At the sight of Felix, Kevin's legs had already weakened, and the hand holding Gianna was trembling.
If he had known earlier that Gianna was Felix's wife, Kevin definitely wouldn't have dared to cause a scene at MY FASHION.
But things had already happened, and Kevin pretended to remain calm as he faced Felix.
"Mr. Clinton, if it weren't for Gianna meddling in my family affairs, making Faith refuse to give money to me, I wouldn't have come here causing trouble!"
Felix stared at Kevin as if he were looking at a dead man. "You brought a bomb to MY FASHION to cause trouble?"
"As long as Faith transfers all the money to me, I can let Gianna go!" said Kevin.
Gianna remained silent for a few seconds, suddenly understanding what had been off before.
If Kevin had come to MY FASHION with a determination to die, he wouldn't have asked Faith for money.
"Kevin, do you think the bomb on you is fake?"
Kevin stiffened, then angrily retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about? Why would I use a fake bomb?"
Gianna smiled calmly and said, "The bomb on you is real. I guess the person behind you deceived you, making you bring this bomb to MY FASHION, pretending to threaten MY FASHION to get all of Faith's money."
"It's impossible! You're trying to trick me! He couldn't have deceived me!" Uncertainty was creeping into Kevin's voice.
"I had already called the police before coming down. If you don't believe me, wait for the bomb disposal experts to arrive, and you'll know I didn't deceive you," said Gianna.
Kevin was visibly shaken by Gianna's words, showing a moment of distraction.
Soon, Kevin regained his composure. "It's impossible. You must be lying to me!"
"Why would I need to lie to you? Now, we are tied together. When the bomb explodes, we will both die here."
Kevin's eyes were filled with panic, and the countdown sound in front of his chest was piercing.
Hayden had told Kevin that the bomb was fake, but what if it was real?
"Why should I believe you?" asked Kevin.
Gianna's expression turned indifferent. "If you don't believe me, then forget it."
This time, Kevin was truly panicked. He only wanted to ask Faith for money, not to risk his life.
Felix's eyes were cold. "There are only twenty minutes left until the bomb explodes. Even if the bomb disposal experts come now, it's too late."
"What should we do? Am I really going to die here today?"
A hint of hatred flashed in Kevin's eyes, and he coldly said, "Even if I die, I will drag you down with me!"
Gianna lowered her gaze, pondered for a few seconds, and then said, "I have some knowledge of bomb disposal."
Kevin looked at her skeptically. "How do I know you're not planning to kill me?"
Feeling helpless, Gianna thought to herself, 'No wonder his company went bankrupt with smarts like his.'
"I'll be right next to you when I disarm it, okay? If the bomb explodes, I'll die with you."
Kevin swallowed hard and remained silent for a moment.
Gianna was getting impatient and said coldly, "Do you want me to disarm it or not? If you don't, we'll all die when the time runs out."
"Fine, I agree to let you disarm the bomb."
As soon as he finished speaking, a cold voice rang out.
"Gianna, I'm here to help you."
Gianna furrowed her brows and turned to Felix impatiently. "Don't come over here and cause trouble!"
Disarming the bomb was extremely dangerous. If there were any mistakes, the bomb would immediately detonate. Gianna was willing to take the risk herself and didn't want to involve Felix.
Felix remained silent but walked directly to Gianna's side.
"Don't be afraid. I'll be with you no matter what."
Gianna shot him a frosty stare. "I don't need you here. Leave immediately."
"I also have some knowledge of bomb disposal. I can help you here."
"No need. I can handle it myself," said Gianna.
"Gianna, there are only seventeen minutes left on the countdown now. Are you sure you want to waste time telling me to leave?"
After a few seconds of silence, Gianna gritted her teeth and said, "You came here on your own. You bear the consequences."
Gianna had someone bring a pair of scissors over. Except for Kevin, Gianna, and Felix, everyone else left the scene. The entire hall fell silent, with only the sound of the bomb's countdown ticking away.
Kevin was so scared at that moment that his legs were trembling. Seeing Gianna and Felix's serious expressions, he finally believed that the bomb was real.
Each tick of the countdown pushed Kevin's emotions to the brink of collapse.
As time passed, sweat began to bead on Gianna's face.
The construction of the bomb was simple, but identifying the wires to cut was extremely difficult because all the cables were the same color.
Gianna had eliminated several wires through the process of elimination, but there were still two left, and there was no time left to continue eliminating.
Seeing Gianna hesitating with the scissors in hand, Kevin was trembling with fear.
"Are you going to do it or not?"
"Shut up!"
Gianna took a deep breath, then turned to Felix and said, "Step back. I'm going to cut the wire."
Seeing the uncertainty in Gianna's eyes, Felix nodded. "Okay."
After Felix had walked about ten meters away, Gianna finally made up her mind, knowing that she had to take a gamble.
One of the wires was cut.
