Chapter 239
After Gianna and Felix left the banquet hall, they didn't head straight back to the villa. Instead, they went to a restaurant.
While eating, Gianna grumbled, "Good thing we left early. Otherwise, we'd be stuck with just desserts and still be hungry."
Felix noticed some sauce on the corner of her mouth, wiped it off, and smiled, "Take your time. It's all yours."
Gianna blushed and started eating more slowly.
They sat across from each other, one eating while the other watched lovingly, creating a warm and cozy vibe.
After their meal, just as they were about to leave, Felix's phone rang. It was Mitchell, which surprised him.
Mitchell said, "Felix, we're waiting for you at the usual spot."
Felix glanced at Gianna and replied, "Okay, I'll drop Gianna home first."
After hanging up, Felix told Gianna, "I'll take you home first, then meet up with Mitchell and the others."
Gianna nodded, "Okay."
After dropping her off, Felix drove straight to the bar. As he walked in, Mitchell joked, "Felix, I never thought the Astor senior would look down on you. You really held back today. Normally, if he offended you, the Astor Group would be bankrupt by now."
Felix shot him a cold look, sat down, and said, "Thomas has discovered my underground activities. If I move against the Astor Group, he'll notice."
Mitchell asked, "What about Ivy? Even though we know you don't like her, people believe it, and it's bad for your reputation."
"Do you think I care about my reputation?" Felix replied.
Raymond, sitting nearby, frowned, "Even if you don't care, think about Gianna. When people insult you, they drag her down too."
Felix said coldly, "I'll handle it. Don't worry about it."
Sensing the tension, Mitchell quickly said, "Alright, we're here to drink. Let's drop it."
Felix downed his drink, stood up, and said, "I've had my drink. I'm heading back. You guys keep on. It's on me."
After Felix left, Mitchell looked at Raymond and sighed, "Raymond, don't bring up Gianna around Felix. You like her, and it probably makes him uncomfortable."
Raymond took a sip and said, "I've said before. If he doesn't treat Gianna well, I'll take her away."
"There are plenty of women in Dawnridge. Can't you like someone else?" Mitchell helplessly said.
Raymond replied, "Can you give up Laura and like someone else?"
Mitchell's face changed instantly. Raymond said nothing more and left.
Uriah patted Mitchell on the shoulder, "You can advise on anything but matters of love. Stay out of it, or you'll offend both of us."
Mitchell drank in silence. Uriah, also in a bad mood, poured himself a drink and joined him.
A couple of days ago, Faith had invited Uriah to dinner to thank him for saving her. He was excited, spent hours picking out clothes, and even styled his hair. But when he arrived and saw Dominic with Faith, it felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped on him.
He barely remembered how he got through that meal, only recalling the closeness between Faith and Dominic.
Faith seemed genuinely happy now. The way she looked at Dominic was full of tenderness and smiles, her eyes practically glowing.
She had never looked at him like that.
Thinking about it, a sharp pain hit his chest, and he downed his drink in one gulp.
By the end of the night, both of them were so drunk they needed help getting into a car.
After Felix left, Gianna checked Thomas and Ivy's call records in the study but found nothing unusual.
It seemed they were using other phones to communicate.
As she pondered how to find evidence of Thomas and Ivy conspiring against Felix, she heard the door open.
Walking out, she saw Felix changing his shoes at the door, holding a food box. She was surprised, "Why are you back so soon?"
Felix looked up and handed her the food box.
"I didn't want you to worry if I came back late. I passed by your favorite restaurant and got some grilled chicken wings." Felix said.
Gianna smiled, taking the box and opening it to sniff, "This will be my midnight snack tonight!"
As Felix saw her rush to the dining room, his eyes filled with affection.
"Nobody's going to take it from you. Be careful, don't trip."
After finishing the wings, Gianna patted her stomach contentedly, "If I could eat this every day, that would be great!"
"No way, spicy food irritates the stomach. It's okay to eat it occasionally, but not every day."
Seeing his serious expression, Gianna pouted, "Alright."
"It's late. Let's go upstairs and rest."
Gianna nodded, "By the way, since you don't have anything to do right now, why not help out at my company for a while?"
Felix raised an eyebrow, "Why the sudden request for help?"
Gianna replied, "You're my boyfriend and great at management. Staying home is a waste of your talent. MY FASHION has a lot of problems and is almost bankrupt. If you help, it will recover faster."
She also knew losing the Clinton Group to Thomas must be hard for Felix, even if he didn't say it. Giving him something to do might help.
But she didn't plan to tell him that.
Felix smiled, "I'd be honored."
"Then it's settled. We'll go to MY FASHION together tomorrow morning."
"What position will I hold?"
"My personal assistant. I'll call Otis to set up a desk in my office for you."
Felix was silent for a moment, his gaze deepening.
Gianna felt his gaze was strange and frowned, "What's wrong? If you don't want to, you can sit outside."
But she didn't really want him to sit outside. He was her boyfriend, not an employee.
"No, I just didn't expect you to trust me so much."
All the company's confidential documents were in the CEO's office. Letting him work there meant she had no defenses against him.
Gianna was taken aback. She hadn't thought of that, just didn't want Felix to be out in the open. But Felix's interpretation wasn't wrong either.
Noticing his intense gaze, Gianna blushed, feeling overwhelmed.
She quickly stood up, "If there's nothing else, I'll go upstairs first."
As she turned to leave, Felix grabbed her wrist.
The next second, she fell into his arms.
Their eyes met, and the atmosphere grew increasingly intimate.
