Chapter 86
Gianna hadn't spoken yet when Felix coldly interrupted, "This is our business, please do not interfere."
Ximena, with an angry expression, said, "Felix, until when are you going to defend her?!"
Felix remained silent with a cold face, but the temperature around him kept dropping, and anyone could tell he was displeased.
"Ximena, rest assured, I have made an agreement with Mr. Clinton. We will get divorced when his leg recovers," Gianna said.
"Gianna!"
Felix coldly looked at her with anger in his eyes.
Gianna remained composed and calmly replied, "It's only a matter of time, and I don't want Mr. Clinton to have any conflicts with his family because of this."
"You are certainly considerate!"
Noticing the mockery in his tone, Gianna pursed her lips and didn't speak.
Ximena sneered, "Gianna, you better keep your promises and stop pestering Felix!"
Gianna smiled and said, "Mr. Clinton is not precious, why would I pester him?"
Taken aback, Ximena's expression turned sour.
"No wonder the Redstone family dislikes you. With such sharp speaking skills, who can like you?"
Gianna frowned, her gaze turning cold.
Felix, beside them, had an icy expression and coldly said, "Mom, if you have nothing better to do, go get some rest."
Ximena, filled with disbelief, said, "Felix, I am your mother. Are you siding with a stranger against me?"
"If it weren't for you constantly causing trouble, things wouldn't have escalated to this point."
"So, you're saying I was wrong for advising you to divorce?"
"If you know it was wrong, then don't bring it up again."
Seeing his indifferent look, Ximena left angrily, saying, "Fine, I won't interfere in your affairs anymore!"
"I couldn't ask for more."
Ximena stormed out in anger.
The hospital room returned to silence, and Gianna sat quietly by Natalie's bedside, watching her treatment with no emotions in her eyes.
Over half an hour passed, and Natalie finally woke up quietly.
Seeing her trying to get up, Gianna quickly went to assist her.
"Grandma, be careful."
Connor saw that Natalie was awake and hurried over. "Mom, are you feeling okay?"
Natalie's face still looked slightly pale and she shook her head. "I want to be alone for a while, you and she shook her head. "I want to be alone for a while. You all go outside."
"If you feel uncomfortable, just call us, we'll be right outside."
As they left, Gianna tucked the blanket in for Natalie and as she turned to leave, she saw a tear fall from Natalie's eye.
Natalie always had a smile on her face, and it was the first time Gianna had seen such a sad expression on her.
Outside the hospital room, Thomas also arrived homas also arrived outside the hospital room.
Connor whispered, "Since Grandma is awake now, I'll have the housekeeper come over later. You all should go get some rest, having so many people here is not necessary."
Thomas nodded. "Alright, if there's anything, let me know."
After leaving the hospital and parting ways with Thomas, Felix spoke in a cold tone, "This incident must have been planned, just like my car accident."
Gianna's grip on the wheelchair armrest tightened unconsciously as she whispered, "Perhaps it was just an accident."
Felix let out a cold laugh, his voice devoid of any warmth. "Actually, my grandmother had four children. The youngest one was kidnapped by the nursemaid when still a baby and was found dead upon being rescued.
This matter is a taboo in our family, no one dares to mention it. Only a few people knew about it back then. By investigating one by one, we can find out who's behind this!"
Gianna never expected such a past to exist.
‘No wonder Natalie looked so sad just now, she must have been reminded of the sorrow from back then by the delivery The delivery must have reminded her of the sorrow she felt back then.’
"Do you suspect that these two incidents were done by the same person?"
"I'm not suspecting, I'm certain!"
Gianna pursed her lips and didn't continue the topic. "Let's go back first."
Back at the villa, after settling Felix on the bed, Gianna immediately opened WeChat in her room.
The person with the black profile picture had sent a document and a dozen messages already. Gianna read through them one by one, her expression growing more and more grave.
It really was the Scorpion!
She had originally planned to deal with the Scorpion after Felix's leg had healed, but he had repeatedly harmed the people around her!
Gianna lowered her gaze and quickly typed on the keyboard.
【Help me find out the Scorpion's location!】
Soon, a message came back from the other side.
The last place where the Scorpion appeared was a bar called The Den, located at 383 Dawnridge Road.
"Thank you!" Gianna replied.
"The Scorpion is very powerful. I suggest you make a plan before going after him," she was advised.
Gianna didn't respond to this statement. She changed into a different outfit and quietly left the Villa.
However, she didn't notice that there was a slight opening in the curtains of Felix's room. Standing by the window was a tall figure, silently watching as she left.
It didn't take long after leaving the Villa for Gianna to realize that she was being followed. After half an hour of shaking off the person tailing her, she hailed a taxi and went straight to LoseDemon.
LoseDemon was a high-end bar with a cover charge of $20,000, making it a spot for wealthy individuals. It offered bolder and more daring entertainment than other bars, but due to its connections, it had never encountered any trouble.
Gianna paid the cover charge and received a fox mask from the waiter at the entrance. She put it on and walked into the bar.
The bar was located on the second basement floor, and as soon as she entered, she was overwhelmed by the deafening music. Seeing several couples dancing provocatively on the dance floor, Gianna casually averted her gaze and walked to the bar to order a drink.
Since the Scorpion had been frequenting Dawnridge lately, Gianna wasn't sure if he would show up at LoseDemon tonight.
The bartender was also experienced in reading people. Seeing Gianna's delicate chin and fair, snow-like skin, he knew she was a beauty. After making her drink, he even gave her a pudding.
Gianna smiled at him and then rested her chin on her hand, occasionally glancing at the people around her with a curious expression.
After observing Gianna for over half an hour, the bartender was certain that she was alone. That's when he approached her and struck up a conversation.
"Are you here alone, beautiful lady?" he asked.
Gianna raised her glass and finished her drink before smirking at the bartender. "Yes, can't a person come alone?"
"Of course they can, but it's more dangerous to be alone. It would be better to come with friends," he replied.
If she hadn't seen the desire in his eyes, Gianna might have actually thought he was genuinely concerned for her. She raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why is that?"
"Coincidentally, I'm about to finish work. I can take you home, as it's dangerous for a girl to walk alone at night. But if you still want to have fun, I can also accompany you," he offered.
After a moment of silence, Gianna nodded. "I'll just go home. It's not much fun being alone. Thank you for your trouble."
"No trouble at all. It's an honor to serve a beautiful lady," the bartender replied.
After changing his clothes, the bartender led Gianna towards the private room.
Gianna looked puzzled. "Shouldn't we leave from the entrance?"
““That exit is crowded, so we usually take a different one that leads to the subway station. Just follow me,”” Gianna said the man replied.
““Okay,” Gianna replied” the man replied.
Gianna followed him for over ten minutes, and the music from the bar grew fainter ,and there were fewer people around.
““How much farther is the subway station you mentioned?”” she asked.
"“We're almost there, just up ahead,”” he answered.
As they turned a corner, two tall men suddenly appeared beside them and reached out to grab Gianna's hand.
She took a step back, avoiding their grasp, and coldly looked at the bartender standing behind them. "What do you think you're doing?"
The bartender smirked. "Little sister, aren't you here at the bar for some excitement? Let me give you a taste of it!"
In an instant, the two men charged at her.
The bartender had a confident expression on his face, but after just a few seconds, his face turned extremely ugly.
He hadn't expected that this seemingly frail girl would be able to beat the two big men to the ground, leaving them unable to get up.
"Little sister, it's all a misunderstanding. Let's talk things out!" he pleaded.
Gianna walked up to him and forcefully pulled his arm, prompting him to let out a scream that echoed through the hallway.
"I'm sorry, beautiful lady. Spare me, and I I won't dare to do it again!" he begged.
"If you want me to spare you, you have to answer a few questions for me," Gianna stated.
"What are they?" he asked.
"Has the most luxurious Private Room at the bar recently been reserved for someone?"
A hint of surprise flashed in the bartender's eyes. "How do you know?"
"You just need to tell me yes or no," Gianna replied.
"Yes," he admitted.
"Now tell me everything you know about the people in that Private Room," Gianna demanded.
"That's customer privacy. I can't, I can't! Just let me go," he pleaded.
"“"You don'’t have the right to negotiate with me,”" Gianna said, biting her lip.
The bartender gritted his teeth and spoke, "That man is very mysterious. Although he reserved the room for three months, he only comes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Every time he comes, he brings a group of people with him. They all seem intimidating, but I only delivered drinks to the room. I don't know anything else."
"What time does he usually arrive?" Gianna asked.
"Around 9 pm in the evening. He usually stays for one or two hours before leaving," the bartender answered.
Gianna let go of him and said with a cold expression, "If I find out you have deceived me, you won't be able to bear the consequences!"
"I swear on my life, if I tell a single lie, I'll be struck down by lightning!" the bartender promised.
Gianna ignored him and turned around, walking away briskly.
Sure enough, as she reached the end of the hallway, there was the subway station. It seemed that the bartender had planned to take advantage of that blind spot to try and kidnap her.
She returned to Villa, and it was already past 3 am.
