Chapter 82
Gianna frowned and remained silent for a while before speaking, "I'll go over after work."
"GoodThank goodness."
It is hoped that when Gianna comes over, she can resolve the unpleasantness between the two, so that the entire company's employees do not have to be on edge.
At the end of the workday, Gianna immediately drove to the Clinton Group.
This was her first time at the Clinton Group. In the past, the two had a secret marriage, and Felix had clearly stated that he didn't want her to come to the Clinton Group to find him, and she didn't want to bother herself.
Sophia came downstairs to greet Gianna, "Felix is still in a meeting. I'll take you to his office first."
Gianna's expression was indifferent, "No need. Just take me to the meeting room directly."
With Gianna's insistence, Sophia Mars still took her to the meeting room.
"Ms. Redstone, would you like some water or a beverage?"
Gianna waved her hand, "I don't want anything. You can go and do your work. Don't mind me."
"Alright, if you need anything, just give me a call."
An hour had passed since Felix finished his meeting. As soon as he walked out of the conference room, Sophia approached him, "Felix, has Miss Redstone arrived?"
"Which Miss Redstone?"
"Gianna."
"Where is she now?"
"In the meeting room."
Felix wheeled himself directly to the meeting room. As he pushed open the door, a hint of surprise flickered in his eyes.
Gianna was actually sleeping with her head on the table.
"Felix."
"Shut up!"
He turned to Sophia and whispered, "Go get a blanket."
Five minutes later, Felix slowly wheeled himself to Gianna's side and gently covered her with the blanket in his hand.
Gianna was a light sleeper and woke up in the blink of an eye.
When she saw Felix, surprise flashed in her eyes. There was mist and confusion in her gaze, clearly indicating that she hadn't fully woken up yet.
"Clinton, have you finished your meeting?"
Felix had a nonchalant expression, "Yes, what brings you here?"
Gianna was now fully awake and looked at Felix. "I heard from the doctor that you told him not to come and treat your leg anymore. Why?"
"I don't have a reason. I just don't want to continue the treatment," Felix replied.
Gianna's eyes were filled with disbelief and she frowned. "Clinton, do you really want to experience what happened three years ago all over again?"
Three years ago, when Felix had a car accident and became partially paralyzed, the shareholders of the Clinton Group took advantage of the situation and Felix's cousin Hayden took over as CEO of the Clinton Group. At that time, Connor was also framed and Felix was too preoccupied to do anything about it. It was only after his leg slowly started to recover that he was able to reclaim the Clinton Group from Hayden.
Felix's expression turned cold and his eyes showed no warmth. "What happened three years ago is in the past. I won't let it happen again."
"Why won't you get your leg treated, then?!" Gianna asked in frustration.
Felix unconsciously tightened his grip on the wheelchair's armrests and replied coldly, "It's none of your business."
Gianna grew angry and said, "How can it not be my business? We agreed before that once your leg wasis healed, we would divorce. Now that you refuse to treat it, are we supposed to be stuck together forever?!"
As she finished speaking, Felix let out a cold laugh. "Finally, your true intentions are revealed. You want my leg to get better just so you can escape from me!"
Gianna was speechless and frowned at Felix.
"Have you lost your mind recently?" she asked.
"What do you mean?" Felix replied.
"Getting your leg treated and divorcing is a win-win situation. If you're unwilling to get treated, then I'll proceed with a divorce lawsuit!" Gianna said.
Felix's gaze suddenly turned icy and snow-like. "Gianna, how dare you!"
Gianna smiled and said, "Why wouldn't I dare?! It's your own choice to refuse treatment and give up on yourself. Why should I be obligated to stay with you for the rest of my life? If you want to go crazy, then go ahead!"
After saying that, Gianna turned around and left.
Once she arrived at the entrance of the Clinton Group building, Gianna contemplated for a moment and decided to call Natalie. After telling her about Felix's refusal to get treatment, Gianna drove straight back to the Villa.
She had just finished taking a shower and was about to eat when Felix angrily returned.
"Why did you tell Grandma about me not continuing the treatment?!" Felix asked.
Gianna put down her fork and calmly looked at Felix. "She would find out eventually anyway, so what's the difference between telling her now or later?"
Felix's face turned pale and he struggled to suppress his anger.
"You really have nerve!" he said with contempt.
Gianna slightly smiled and said slowly, "If you don't continue with the leg treatment, I don't see the need to stay here. I will move out tonight."
"You dare!"
"You can see if I dare!"
Felix took a deep breath and coldly said, "I can continue with the leg treatment, but the condition is that we don't get divorced."
Gianna rolled her eyes and coldly replied, "Felix, whether you treat your leg or not is your own business. Trying to threaten me with this matter only makes me look down on you!"
"You!"
Seeing Felix's angry expression, Gianna lost her appetite and stood up, saying, "Whether you want the treatment or not, it's not as if I'm the one who's crippled. When Bella abandons you again like she did three years ago, you'll deserve it!"
After speaking, she went straight back to the bedroom to pack her things.
While halfway through packing, Felix came in.
"I will continue with the leg treatment, and you can't move out!"
Gianna silently rolled her eyes, threw the neatly arranged clothes on the bed, and said irritably, "If you had been like this earlier, it would have been over! You need someone to coax you while you treat your leg, you lunatic!"
Felix was: Sspeechless
After this incident, their days returned to the peaceful state they were in before.
Soon, it was Natalie's birthday.
During this time, they didn't mention the matter of Natalie's birthday gift again, but they both knew that giving a gift together was no longer possible.
Gianna left work early and went to the store to pick up the gift she had reserved months in advance, then went directly to Harmony Garden.
Natalie originally didn't want to make a big fuss, but this year she turned’s turning seventy, and under Connor and Ximena's insistence, she still invited many business elites from Dawnridge.
When Gianna walked into the living room of Harmony Garden, there were already many guests inside.
Ximena was talking to Bella, but she saw Gianna at a glance and deliberately ignored her, pretending not to see her.
Gianna didn't mind and went straight to find the old lady.
When Natalie saw her, a kind smile appeared on her face. "Gianna, you finally came. I thought you had forgotten my birthday."
Gianna handed over the brocade box in her hand and smiled, "How could I forget, Ggrandma? Happy birthday!"
Natalie took the brocade box and opened it to find a diamond bracelet inside. She immediately smiled with delight.
"Gianna knows my preferences. I really like it. Thank you, Gianna!"
Seeing Natalie immediately put the bracelet on her wrist, everyone understood Gianna's significance to her.
"By the way, where's Felix? Why didn't he come with you?"
