Chapter 215

Garrett's brows knitted with worry. He asked, "What about you?"

Gianna assured, "Don't worry about me!"

Garrett said with concern, "Just be careful!"

Gianna agreed, "Okay."

He quickly placed Natalie in the wheelchair, and Garrett pushed her into the bathroom, locking the door behind them.

Almost immediately, they heard a key card swipe at the door.

With a beep, the door opened.

Gianna had already turned off all the lights, making the room pitch black.

From the footsteps, Gianna could tell there were about a dozen skilled people.

The first person to reach the sink sensed danger, but before he could react, he felt a cold blade on his neck.

In the darkness, the scent of blood quickly filled the air.

One of the intruders said, "Be careful!"

Using the sound to locate him, Gianna swiftly moved behind another person. Before he could say a word, he collapsed.

Half an hour later, Gianna knocked on the bathroom door and whispered, "It's done, but it's pretty bloody. Garrett, you might want to wait a bit before coming out."

Hearing Gianna's voice, Garrett finally felt some relief. He had been tense, worried about her.

As for the bloody scene, he had been a doctor for years and had seen all kinds of things.

With that thought, Garrett opened the bathroom door.

He immediately covered his mouth, gagging.

Gianna, bandaging her wounds, glanced up. She remarked, "I warned you."

Garrett hadn't expected it to be so gruesome. Bodies were everywhere, and blood splattered the walls.

Looking at Gianna, she was covered in blood and had various wounds but calmly bandaged herself as if nothing had happened.

At that moment, Garrett realized he never truly knew Gianna. They had studied medicine together for three years under Foster Price, and that was it.

After a few minutes, the strong smell of blood made Garrett nauseous again. He covered his nose and frowned as he asked, "How are we going to clean this up?"

Gianna replied calmly, "I've already contacted someone."

Soon, the cleanup crew arrived. Five people, all wearing masks and hats.

The leader walked up to Gianna with a smile, and said, "This scene is pretty brutal. We'll need to charge extra."

The other four started putting the bodies into black bags and carried them out.

Gianna nodded and replied, "I'll transfer the payment to your account."

The man squinted, amused, and asked, "Pleasure cooperation. Are you getting back into your old job?"

Gianna stayed calm, and answered, "No, just handling some personal matters."

The man didn't ask further and left.

The team not only removed the bodies but also cleaned the scene thoroughly. If it weren't for the faint smell of blood, it would have been as if nothing had happened.

Gianna turned to Garrett, and said, "I want to take a shower. Let's put Natalie back in bed first."

Garrett snapped out of his daze and quickly helped her put Natalie back in bed.

When Gianna came out after her shower, Garrett's complexion had returned to normal. He didn't ask how she managed to kill a dozen men or how she got people to clean up. Everyone has things they don't want to share, and he had his own secrets too.

As long as he knew she wouldn't harm him, that was enough.

Gianna sat down across from Garrett, looking apologetic. She spoke remorsefully, "Garrett, I'm really sorry for dragging you into this. Once this is over, I'll be frank to Felix about my identity and won't trouble you again."

Garrett shook his head in disagreement, and said, "It's okay. I don't regret helping you."

Gianna felt touched, and replied, "Garrett, thank you."

Before she could finish, Garrett added, "But scaring me like this, one Celestial Starflower isn't enough. How about ten Reishi mushrooms too?"

After a brief pause, Gianna nodded in agreement, and said, "Alright, and I'll add ten of my homemade pills."

Garrett's eyes widened with surprise, and said, "Really?"

Gianna confirmed, "Yes."

Garrett offered seriously, "Gianna, if you ever have any trouble, you must tell me. Your problems are my problems, and I'll definitely help you!"

Seeing his serious expression, Gianna felt lighter. She smiled and nodded, saying, "Alright, but not this time. You should go back to Thundertop tomorrow. I'll take Grandma to Herb Valley myself."

She didn't want Garrett to break Herb Valley's rules because of her. Going to Herb Valley was her choice, and she was prepared for the worst, but she didn't want to drag Garrett into it.

Garrett frowned as he asked, "What do you mean by that? Are you afraid I'll be a burden?"

Gianna sighed, and rebutted, "Garrett, you know what I mean."

Garrett reasoned, "No way. I've come this far, and I'm not leaving just like that. Besides, Herb Valley's rules only punish those who break them. When that senior brought his family and a junior into Herb Valley, only the senior was punished."

Gianna spoke hesitantly, "But..."

Garrett reassured her, "No worries. I won't be in any trouble! I know Herb Valley's rules better than you do."

Seeing Gianna had frowned, Garrett raised his eyebrows in disapproval and said, "Do you think I would risk my life to go to Herb Valley with you if I wasn't sure?"

Gianna agreed reluctantly, "Alright."

Garrett suggested, "Okay, let's not think about this anymore. Get some sleep. We might be able to leave tomorrow."

Gianna nodded, and agreed, "Okay."

Despite Gianna's agreement, Garrett woke up the next day to find she had already left with Natalie.

Meanwhile, at Thomas's villa.

Learning that the people sent to kill Garrett and Gianna were all dead, Thomas was filled with disbelief and anger.

Thomas remarked angrily, "Didn't you say there wouldn't be any problems this time?"

He was starting to doubt whether Gianna and Garrett were too formidable or if the people he sent were useless. How could they not manage to kill an unconscious old lady, a woman, and a man who only knew how to use a scalpel?

The subordinate trembled in fear, not understanding why this had happened.

The subordinate suggested, "Thomas, could it be that our intelligence was wrong? Gianna and Garrett might not be as simple as they look like?"

Thomas sneered, "A useless woman who spent over a decade in the countryside and a man who only knows how to use a scalpel; how complicated could they be?"

The subordinate advised, "Maybe we should investigate again. After all, the people we sent were the best of the best. Even if they failed, it's impossible that none of them survived."

Hearing this, Thomas's eyes narrowed, and he said coldly, "I want results within three days. Also, send more people. I refuse to believe those three are that formidable!"

The subordinate responded, "Yes!"

After discussing this matter, the subordinate quickly added, "By the way, Thomas, when are we making a move on the Clinton Group?"

Thomas stated, "Tonight. Tomorrow morning, I'll personally go to the Clinton Group to take over as CEO from Felix!"

The subordinate replied, "Understood."

After the subordinate left, Thomas thought about Felix's reaction when he sees him tomorrow, and he felt excited, his smile gradually becoming twisted.

In the Clinton Group CEO's office.

Felix's face had become extremely grim after a whole day of not finding Gianna's whereabouts. His entire demeanor was shrouded in a cold aura, making people afraid to approach him.

After working through the night, James suddenly rushed in early the next morning.

James reported, "Felix, we've found Gianna. She took Natalie to Willow Creek!"

Felix stood up abruptly and said coldly, "Book the earliest flight to Willow Creek!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a cold voice came from the doorway.

Thomas declared, "You can't go anywhere today!"
