Chapter 181 Breaking Up

After hesitating, Bella finally picked up.

"Felix, why are you calling me out of the blue? Is there..."

Felix cut her off, his voice icy, "Bella, didn't I warn you before?"

Even over the phone, Bella could feel his anger. She bit her lip, knowing he must have proof, and panic set in.

She tried to argue, "Felix, I did it for your own good."

Felix laughed coldly, "For my good, you schemed against Gianna? I told you not to mess with her."

Hearing his protective tone, Bella felt a surge of jealousy and anger. She took a deep breath to calm down.

"If she hadn't gone out with another man, I wouldn't have had the chance, right?"

Silence on the other end.

Bella knew she hit a nerve and continued, "Felix, I was going to send you the photos, but I thought Gianna needed a lesson. So, I sent them to the paparazzi. They only reported the truth. Gianna did have dinner with Jonah, didn't she?"

After what felt like forever, Felix's cold voice came through, "Don't let something like this happen again, or I won't let you off!"

He hung up.

Bella smiled slowly. It seemed Felix didn't trust Gianna that much. Her words had some impact. Otherwise, he wouldn't have let her off so easily. Maybe, deep down, Felix thought she was right.

After work, Felix picked up Gianna. The ride back was silent.

Near the villa, Gianna finally spoke, "Felix, thanks for handling the online mess."

Felix nodded, indifferent.

This incident was like a thorn—not painful, but a constant reminder of Gianna's distrust.

Felix tried to ignore it, but it kept nagging him, making him question if Gianna really liked him.

Before she asked for a divorce, he was sure she did. Now, he wasn't so sure.

Back at the villa, after dinner, Felix went to the study to work. Gianna was about to head to the bedroom when she got a call from Jonah's agent.

"Gianna, I hate to bother you, but Jonah's endorsements and gigs are getting canceled. A new show we secured yesterday dropped him today. If this keeps up, his career is over," the agent said worriedly.

Gianna frowned, "Is this because of our dinner?"

Even if it affected Jonah, it shouldn't be this bad.

The agent shared all the information they had, including that Jonah had offended the Clinton Group.

Gianna paused, then said, "I understand. I'll handle it. Sorry for the trouble."

After hanging up, Gianna sat in the living room for a while before heading to the study. She didn't knock, just walked in.

Felix was in a video conference. He frowned, saw her icy expression, paused the meeting, closed his laptop, and looked at her.

"What is it?" Gianna asked coldly, "Did you cancel Jonah's endorsements and contracts?"

Felix's eyes turned icy, "Are you questioning me for his sake?"

"Just answer. Yes or no?"

"Yes."

Even though she expected it, hearing it still hurt Gianna.

"Why did you do it? I told you, Jonah and I just had a meal. Why ruin his career?"

Felix's expression hardened, "Gianna, who's your boyfriend here? Are you really arguing with me over him?"

"He's my friend. When will you respect me? If you don't trust me, why did you want to start over?"

Felix's anger flared, "Trust? Have you ever trusted me?"

Whenever he had any contact with Bella, Gianna assumed the worst. Now, he had only given Jonah a small lesson, yet she was acting like he was a criminal.

Seeing Felix's cold, angry eyes, Gianna closed hers and spoke slowly, "Since we got back together, we haven't trusted each other. We doubt each other at the first sign of trouble. Is there any point in continuing this relationship?"

Felix's emotions vanished, leaving his eyes deep and unreadable, "You've wanted to say this since we got back together, haven't you?"

Gianna took a deep breath, "Maybe we're not suited for each other. Let's break up."

The room felt like a frozen wasteland. After a long silence, Felix said in a cold voice, "You finally said what you really feel."

Gianna looked at him, "Yes, ever since we got back together, I've felt we're not suited for each other. Being together is just torture."

Felix's gaze was were cold, "Then who are you suited for? Jonah? Seems I've been in your way."

Gianna frowned, "Stop dragging others into this. This is between us."

"Fine, no others. I won't agree to the breakup."

"What's the point of dragging this out? Let's end on good terms."

Felix met her angry gaze with a cold one, "I have work to do. Please leave."

Gianna stared at him, "Felix, I'm informing you of the breakup, not asking. I'll pack and leave. We're done!"

She turned and left. As the door closed, Felix swept all the documents off his desk, his expression dark.

Gianna quickly packed and drove back to Elm Bay that night. Knowing she had argued with Felix, Faith came over to keep her company.

"Didn't you two just reconcile? Why break up now?" Faith asked.

Gianna sat on the sofa, looking indifferent, "It's not sudden. Since we got back together, I knew we'd break up."

Before, Gianna tolerated Felix endlessly. But now, neither would back down in conflicts and they were always butting heads. No matter how much love there was, it would be exhausted in endless arguments.

Faith frowned, "Are you sure you really want to break up?"
