Chapter 281

Gianna was caught off guard and tried to wiggle out of his hold, but no dice.

"Felix, what the heck? Let go of me!" she snapped.

Otis was still lurking by the door!

But Felix just tightened his grip, like he was scared she'd vanish if he let go.

Sensing something was off, Gianna frowned, "Felix, what's your deal?"

Just a bit ago at Garrett's hospital, he was fuming, but now he seemed like a whole different person.

After what felt like forever, Felix finally let her go, looked her in the eyes, and said slowly, "You're Crescent, aren't you?"

Gianna's eyes widened in surprise. She wanted to ask if Garrett had spilled the beans, but she knew Garrett wouldn't do that.

"Why are you asking this?" she questioned.

Felix's eyes were filled with guilt. "It really is you. I'm sorry, I misunderstood you for so long."

Gianna was quiet for a moment, then asked, "How did you figure it out?"

Felix explained, "After you left, Daniel found me. He said that if he didn't back off from the Clinton Group, Crescent wouldn't agree to operate on Jonah. Thinking back to when my leg was messed up, my gut told me you were Crescent!"

Gianna pressed her lips together, not expecting that reason.

She looked at him calmly, "You got one thing wrong. I had Garrett talk to Daniel because Daniel was targeting the Clinton Group because of me. Whether he agreed or not, I had already decided to save Jonah."

A trace of disappointment flashed in Felix's eyes, and his lips tightened.

"Why didn't you tell me you were Crescent when you treated my leg?" Felix asked.

Gianna smiled, "At first, I didn't want you to feel burdened or indebted to me. Marrying you was my one-sided wish. Later, I didn't want any more ties with you, so there was no need to say anything."

With every word, Felix felt a sharp pain in his chest.

She had done so much for him silently, yet he had always hurt her and even suspected her of being with other men. His heart ached even more thinking about it.

"Gianna, I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!" Felix said, his eyes red.

Gianna was surprised but then fell silent.

Felix's apology was something she deserved.

Whether it was treating his leg before or later making great efforts to save Natalie, she had never wronged him. Instead, he had wronged her.

"I have a meeting later. If you have nothing else, you should go," Gianna said.

She sat down and continued to look at the documents.

She wasn't a robot; Felix's apology wouldn't make her grievances disappear.

Moreover, she hadn't forgotten what happened this morning. Hearing him threaten Garrett had genuinely hurt her.

It was one thing for him not to understand her, but he didn't even respect her friends.

"I will personally apologize to Garrett," Felix added.

Gianna's hand trembled as she held the document, and she lowered her eyes, saying faintly, "That's your business."

"I'll come to pick you up for dinner tonight," Felix said.

She was about to refuse, but Felix continued, "I'll invite Garrett too. This dinner is also to apologize to him. Will you come with me?"

Gianna looked up at Felix and saw the guilt in his eyes. Finally, she nodded, "Okay."

After Felix left, Gianna stared at the documents in front of her for a long time but didn't read a single word. Instead, a smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.

Evening came quickly, and Felix had reserved the entire Elysium Eateries Restaurant, the finest dining establishment in Dawnridge.

Gianna swung by to pick up Garrett, and on the way, Garrett couldn't help but say, "Gianna, Felix really went all out this time. Just eating in the hall at Elysium Eateries Restaurant costs a fortune. Reserving the whole place? That's gotta be hundreds of thousands of dollars."

Gianna grinned, "Well, he owes you big time for causing that scene at your hospital. Don't let him off easy tonight."

Garrett chuckled, "No need to go that far. He's bought meds from me before. This time, for your sake, I'll let it slide."

Gianna shot back, "Don't do it for me. He always doubts me. Even if you forgive him, I haven't."

Garrett asked, "So what's your plan?"

Gianna pressed her lips together and said softly, "I haven't figured it out yet. I'll think about it."

They soon rolled up to Elysium Eateries Restaurant, where two waiters were already waiting. One helped with parking, and the other led them inside.

Felix was already there, waiting. When he saw Gianna and Garrett, he stood up and walked over.

"Gianna, Garrett, please sit over here," Felix said politely.

Gianna wanted to sit with Garrett to show Felix she wasn't over it yet, but Felix took her hand and led her to sit beside him.

"You go ahead and order," Felix handed the menu to Garrett.

Garrett took the menu and ordered more than ten dishes, all the priciest ones. Then he added a few more before looking at Felix.

"Mr. Clinton, did I order too much?" Garrett asked.

Felix's face was calm, "Not at all. If it's not enough, order more."

Garrett nodded, "Okay, thanks, Mr. Clinton."

He then ordered seven or eight more dishes before handing the menu to Gianna with a smile, "Gianna, see if there's anything else you want."

Gianna shook her head, "No need, what you ordered is plenty."

Garrett didn't push it and handed the menu to the waiter without asking for Felix's opinion.

After the waiter left, Garrett looked at Felix, his expression turning serious.

"Mr. Clinton, I didn't want Gianna to marry you at first because the Clinton family is loaded. After marrying you, she wouldn't be able to live as carefree as before, but she liked you. I thought you'd see her good qualities, but you didn't. You even doubted her when she had normal interactions with other guys. Do you think you deserve her love?" Garrett said.

Gianna was stunned and looked up at Garrett, not expecting him to suddenly grill Felix.

"Garrett," Gianna said softly.

Garrett glanced at her and said coolly, "Don't say anything. I'm asking him as your family now."

Gianna pouted, "Felix and I are already divorced. We're just boyfriend and girlfriend now."

After a few seconds of silence, Felix slowly said, "Garrett, it was my fault for misunderstanding you and Gianna before. Ever since I got back together with her, I've always felt anxious, afraid she'd leave me one day. So I got paranoid and jealous when I saw her with other guys, leading to stupid actions."

Garrett looked at him expressionlessly and said coldly, "In a relationship, the most important thing is trust. Without trust, your relationship won't last long."

Felix nodded and said seriously, "I get it. It was only today that I realized how much she loves me."

Saying this, Felix turned to look at Gianna, his eyes filled with a depth of emotion that made her uncomfortable.

"Gianna, give me another chance. I promise I'll try not to be paranoid anymore, okay?" Felix said sincerely.
