Chapter 309

Gianna shot back, "Nah, if you move in, it's gonna mess with my work flow."

Felix chimed in, "I can help you handle the company's affairs."

Gianna raised an eyebrow, giving him a cool look. "I don't want you meddling in my company's stuff, and I definitely don't wanna rely on you."

Felix's eyes dimmed a bit, and he muttered, "Sometimes I wish you weren't so damn capable. It'd be nice if you were like other women, just shopping and traveling without a care."

Gianna had once dreamed of that kind of life, but reality had slapped her awake.

She smirked, "I still dig my current life."

Felix let her go and said, "Go to work, I'll pick you up tonight."

"Okay." Gianna nodded.

After she hopped out of the car, Felix watched her walk into MY FASHION and then told the driver to head to the Clinton Group.

Around noon, Otis knocked and walked in.

Otis said, "Gianna, someone named Penelope wants to see you."

Gianna's eyes widened in surprise. How did Penelope find her here?

She frowned, "Tell her I'm busy."

She had zero interest in whatever Penelope wanted to say.

"Okay." Otis nodded.

It was Monday, and the company was swamped. Gianna got so caught up in work that she forgot about it. Just before quitting time, Otis came back to tell her that Penelope had been waiting downstairs and wasn't leaving without seeing her.

Gianna was quiet for a moment and then said, "Let her come up."

Otis led Penelope into Gianna's office soon after.

Seeing the "President" sign on Gianna's desk, Penelope couldn't hide her jealousy. If it weren't for Felix, Gianna would never have owned such a company.

And all of this had been within her grasp not long ago. It was all because of Gianna that she ended up with nothing!

Thinking about it made her want to slap Gianna.

Gianna asked, "Miss Clifford, what do you want?"

Gianna saw the jealousy in Penelope's eyes but didn't care. She had no plans to deal with Penelope in the future.

Penelope sat down across from Gianna and said, "Miss Redstone, I heard you had a marriage with Mr. Clinton?"

Gianna's eyes flashed with annoyance. "What does that have to do with you, Miss Clifford?"

Penelope smirked and continued, "Of course, it has nothing to do with me, but there are rumors that you two are already divorced."

"What exactly are you trying to say?" Gianna was getting impatient.

Penelope's smile widened, "Miss Redstone, do you really think you're divorced from Mr. Clinton?"

Gianna frowned, her heart sinking, "I don't get what you're saying!"

Penelope sneered, "It doesn't matter if you don't understand. Miss Redstone, you can check. Mr. Clinton never notarized your divorce agreement, and the divorce certificate he gave you is fake!"

Gianna glared at her coldly, "I don't know why you're spouting this nonsense, and I don't care. Get out!"

Penelope stood up, looking down at Gianna with mockery in her eyes, "Miss Redstone, sometimes I really pity you, being deceived by Mr. Clinton without even knowing it."

Gianna ignored her, "Are you leaving on your own, or should I call security to throw you out?"

Seeing Gianna's pissed-off expression, Penelope knew she had hit her mark and smiled, "No need, I'll leave on my own."

After Penelope bounced, Gianna took a deep breath and reached for her phone on the desk, her fingers shaking as she tried to pick it up.

She punched in her password and dialed Owen's number. She said slowly, "Find out if Felix and I are really divorced!"

Soon, a message popped up on Facebook.

Owen: [Gianna, I checked. You never processed a divorce certificate. This is what I found in the system.]

Seeing the electronic marriage certificate, Gianna's heart sank like a rock in an endless abyss.

She wanted to laugh, but tears started falling, blurring the screen in front of her.

She felt so stupid. She had trusted Felix over and over, only to let him hurt her even more.

He had so many chances to come clean, but he never did.

Now, she even doubted if he truly liked her or just enjoyed controlling her.

In this relationship, she was never free and had no choices. How could he be so cruel?

Gianna wiped away her tears and dialed Natalie's number.

Gianna said, "Natalie, I need to see you."

After work in the evening, Felix showed up at MY FASHION and sent Gianna a message. After waiting for over ten minutes without a reply, he frowned.

After waiting a bit longer, he finally couldn't resist dialing Gianna's number.

After a few rings, she picked up.

Felix asked, "Gianna, I'm already downstairs at your company. When are you getting off work?"

Gianna replied coldly, "I'm at Harmony Garden. Come over directly."

Felix frowned, about to ask when she went to Harmony Garden, but Gianna hung up the phone.

Holding his phone, he suddenly had a bad feeling, and a wave of anxiety surged in his heart.

Felix demanded, "To Harmony Garden!"

Half an hour later, Felix's car stopped at the entrance of Harmony Garden. He got out and quickly walked in.

As soon as he entered the living room, he saw Gianna and Natalie sitting on the sofa, both looking serious.

Felix's heart sank. As he approached them, he saw a divorce agreement on the table, and his face turned extremely grim.

Felix asked, "Grandma, Gianna, what's going on here?"

Natalie snorted coldly and angrily said, "You know damn well what this means. When you divorced Gianna, why did you give her a fake divorce certificate?"

Hearing this, the last bit of hope in Felix's heart vanished. She indeed knew about it.

He instinctively looked at Gianna, "Gianna, back then..."

Gianna cut him off with an icy expression, "No need to explain. Sign this divorce agreement, and we'll notarize it today."

Felix's face changed, and he grabbed the divorce agreement from the table, tearing it up and throwing it into the trash.

Felix shouted, "No matter how you scold or hit me, I'll take it, but I will never agree to a divorce!"

Natalie was furious, gritting her teeth, "You won't agree? How dare you! Do you know how much you hurt Gianna back then? And you gave her a fake divorce certificate to deceive her? I don't want to say more. Sign the divorce agreement, and we'll notarize it today. After that, you two will have nothing to do with each other."

"I said I won't sign!" Felix insisted.

"You!" Natalie stood up, raising her hand to hit him, but Gianna stopped her.

Her eyes were red, clearly from crying earlier.

But at this moment, her eyes were devoid of any emotion, only indifference and coldness.

Gianna said, "Natalie, let me talk to him."
