Chapter 212

Garrett glanced at the plastic bag in his hand and paused, asking, "Gianna, what's this?"

Gianna spoke softly, "It's the chicken soup Natalie drinks daily. I think something's off, but tests came back clean. I don't trust those labs. Can you check it yourself?"

Garrett's face turned serious, and said, "Got it. I'll check it now and let you know if there's an issue."

Gianna replied, "Thanks."

After Garrett left, Gianna returned to the hospital room and noticed Felix looking a bit off.

Gianna asked, "What's up with you?"

Felix looked away and tried to sound casual, "You and Garrett seem pretty close."

Gianna's heart skipped a beat, but she quickly smiled, and remarked, "I've asked him for help with your leg a lot. We've met many times, so it's normal."

Felix was silent for a few seconds, then looked at her seriously and said, "I mean, you two act like you've known each other for years."

Gianna denied, "You're imagining things. You should get more doctors to check on Natalie."

Felix replied, "Garrett's already working on it. Let's wait for him."

Gianna nodded, planning to wait for Garrett's results on the soup. She agreed, "Alright."

Soon, Felix's men arrived.

Seeing he wanted four people to escort her back to the hotel, Gianna felt a bit helpless, and said, "This is Thundertop. It's safe here. No need for so many escorts."

Besides, she could handle herself if needed.

Felix's eyes flickered, and he said firmly, "I won't be at ease if you go alone. They'll leave after escorting you."

Seeing Felix insist, Gianna agreed.

By the time she got back to the hotel, it was late.

Gianna checked the time and messaged Faith, saying she wouldn't be in the office tomorrow and to call if anything urgent came up.

She thought Faith would be asleep, but Faith called her right away.

Faith asked anxiously, "Gianna, did you forget? We have a contract to sign with Mr. Hayes tomorrow. If you don't come, who will sign it?"

Gianna frowned, and informed, "I'm in Thundertop and can't make it back. You can sign it for me."

Faith asked, "Thundertop? What are you doing there?"

Faith's raised voice made Gianna frown more, and explained, "Natalie fainted at home. They couldn't find the cause in Dawnridge, so we rushed her to Thundertop. Why are you so surprised?"

Faith replied, "It's nothing. Just didn't expect you to go there suddenly."

Gianna didn't think much of it, and said, "Alright, I'm going to sleep. Call me if there's anything urgent."

Faith replied, "Okay."

After hanging up, Faith sighed.

Faith contemplated, "Should I tell Gianna that Jonah saved her? I called Jonah last time, and he didn't want me to tell her. I don't get it."

Dominic, beside her, pulled her close and said softly, "If Jonah doesn't want you to say anything, just act like you don't know. It's late. Let's sleep."

Faith agreed, "Alright."

Faith sighed again, puzzled why both Felix and Jonah wanted to keep it from Gianna.

Early the next morning, Gianna had just gotten up when Garrett called.

Garrett informed, "Gianna, there's definitely something wrong with that chicken soup. Where are you? I'll come over right now."

Half an hour later, Garrett handed Gianna a document, looking grim, "The chicken soup has a high concentration of opium. It's highly addictive."

Gianna's grip tightened on the report, her eyes blazing with anger. Thomas was giving Natalie this stuff? Natalie's health was already fragile. If she got hooked on this, quitting would be nearly impossible and would wreck her health even more.

She wanted to drag Thomas to Natalie's bedside and make him repent.

But...

"If it's just this, it wouldn't have made Natalie so sick so fast. Is there something else?"

Garrett nodded and added, "Definitely. Whoever's harming Natalie must have given her other poisons. The mix of poisons is the reason why her health tanked so quickly."

Gianna replied, "I get it. I'll find out what it is as soon as possible."

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Gianna opened it to find Felix standing there.

Surprised, Gianna asked, "Felix, why are you here?"

Felix glanced past her and saw Garrett, looking displeased, and said, "Next time, don't stay alone in a room with another man."

His voice was loud enough for Garrett to hear, making him awkwardly rub his nose. If Felix knew that he and Gianna used to make medicine together during their studies, sometimes for days and nights, and they would sleep wherever they could, Felix might want to kill him. Garrett shivered at the thought.

Gianna ignored Felix's comment and handed him the document, and revealed, "Before coming to Thundertop, I took some chicken soup from the kitchen and had Garrett test it. Here's the result."

Felix read the document, his face turning icy cold. The temperature in the room seemed to drop.

He immediately called James, his voice cold, "Arrest Thomas immediately!"

James's panicked voice came through. He reported, "Felix, something's happened! The Clinton Group's confidential chip has been leaked, and now many partners are suing us for breach of contract!"

Felix's face darkened with anger, and asked, "Do you know who leaked it?"

James suggested, "It was your secretary. The Clinton Group is in chaos. You need to come back immediately!"

Felix hung up, looking at Gianna, and said, "I need to go back to Dawnridge. As for Natalie..."

Gianna cut him off, "Don't worry about Natalie. The company's matters are more urgent!"

She had heard James's words. The crisis at the Clinton Group must be severe for James to be so anxious.

Felix agreed, "Alright."

Felix gave her a deep look and kissed her, saying, "Wait for me to come back."

After Felix left, Gianna turned to Garrett, "Let's go to the hospital now. We need to find out what poison Natalie has been given. That pill will only last three days. If the poison spreads after that, it'll be too late!"

Garrett replied, "Got it."

They quickly headed to the hospital and ran into Jonah's agent, Kyle, at the gate.

Seeing Gianna, Kyle's expression changed, "Gianna, what are you doing here?!"
