Chapter 395

A week passed quickly. Constance sent Holly's design drafts to Grant's email, and in the afternoon, Grant called a meeting with everyone in the design department.

Grant said, "I've reviewed all the submitted design drafts. I've initially selected ten to submit to the president. The assistant will post the list in the design department's group chat shortly. For those not selected, don't be discouraged. It's not about your skill level; it's just that your style may not align as well."

After addressing this matter, Grant discussed the upcoming work arrangements and then announced the end of the meeting.

Half an hour later, Holly opened the document with anticipation and saw that she had indeed been selected. She was so excited she almost jumped up.

She thought for a moment and sent a message to Constance.

Holly: [Constance, my design being selected this time is all thanks to you giving me the opportunity and providing so many revision suggestions. I'd like to treat you to dinner tonight. Is that okay?]

Constance: [No need. It's just being sent to the president for now. It might not be the final selection, but it's already great. Keep up the good work!]

Holly: [Your and Jennifer's designs are better than mine. I probably won't get selected, but I'm already very happy to have this opportunity! It's settled then. I know a great restaurant. I'll make a reservation!]

Constance: [Really, there's no need.]

Holly: [I've already made the reservation!]

Seeing her message, Constance couldn't help but smile.

Constance: [Alright then.]

In Jennifer's office.

Jennifer looked coldly at Clara and said, "Holly has only been here a few days, and her design has already been selected by Grant to be submitted to the president. You've been with me for years, but you haven't made any progress!"

Clara kept her head down and didn't speak, but she was very dissatisfied in her heart.

Clara thought, 'How could I compare to Holly? Constance reviewed Holly's design and offered a lot of valuable feedback, without any fear that Holly's design might surpass her own. But Jennifer? Forget about her giving me feedback. Whenever she sees my design is even slightly better than hers, she goes out of her way to criticize me.'

Thinking of this, Clara suddenly envied Holly.

Having the right mentor was really crucial for one's design career!

Jennifer asked, "Why are you keeping your head down and not speaking? Are you dissatisfied with me?"

Clara quickly shook her head. "Jennifer, I'm not."

Jennifer said, "You'd better not be. Get out! Seeing you makes me feel ashamed!"

Clara bit her lower lip, a flash of disgust in her eyes, and quickly left.

Jennifer was still fuming and angrily called Eric. "Eric, I can't stand Constance anymore. She's always showing off at the company, as if she's the only one who can design. I really want her to disappear from this world!"

Eric's cold voice came through, "Jennifer, I'm warning you to behave. If something like last time happens again, not even I or the Chambers family can protect you!"

Jennifer had hoped Eric would comfort her, but instead, she got scolded. She angrily hung up the phone and left the company.

She went to a bar, and after a few strong drinks, her anger finally subsided a bit.

Suddenly, a man sat down next to her. "Jennifer, you look very unhappy."

Jennifer turned to look at him and realized she didn't know him. Her face immediately turned cold. "Who are you? I don't know you at all!"

"Don't look at me with such a guarded expression. I'm here to help you."

"Help me?" Jennifer sneered, "What do I need your help with?"

The man raised an eyebrow. "As far as I know, you don't seem to get along well with the new colleague."

Jennifer looked at him coldly and put down her glass. "I don't understand what you're talking about!"

"Jennifer, instead of drowning your sorrows in a bar, why not cooperate with me to make the person you hate disappear from this world?"

Jennifer's eyes narrowed. "Why should I trust you?"

"Because I know everything about you, and I hate Constance just as much as you do. I wish she would disappear."

Seeing the hatred in the man's eyes, Jennifer was silent for a moment and then said coldly, "You just want to use me to deal with Constance. Too bad I won't fall for it."

With that, she turned and left.

The man watched her back, a slow smile forming on his lips.

Soon it was time to get off work. Constance had called Felix earlier to tell him she was going to dinner with a colleague.

Felix was clearly a bit displeased but only reminded her to stay safe before hanging up.

Constance thought the dinner might be a bit awkward, but Holly always found topics to chat about with her, so the atmosphere was quite pleasant.

At ten o'clock, Felix's car appeared at the restaurant entrance right on time.

Holly and Constance had both had a bit to drink, and the night breeze made them feel a bit dizzy.

Felix appeared at that moment. He was tall, exuding an intimidating aura, and his handsome face was devoid of warmth, yet strikingly attractive.

The moment he saw Constance, his face seemed to thaw, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.

In that instant, Holly felt as if something had hit her heart, and her heartbeat quickened.

Felix walked up to Constance, draped a shawl over her shoulders, and his eyes were filled with almost overflowing tenderness.

Smelling the alcohol on her, he frowned. "Did you drink?"

"A little," Constance replied and then turned to Holly. "Shall we give you a ride home? It's not safe to take a cab alone at night."

Holly's eyes lit up with surprise and disbelief. "Really?"

"Yes," Constance replied.

Felix was a bit displeased. He didn't like others intruding on his limited alone time with Constance.

On the way to drop Holly off, Constance sat in the front passenger seat, quietly leaning back and falling asleep.

At every red light, Felix's gaze would fall on her, filled with tenderness and affection.

Holly was filled with envy. Constance not only had great skills but also a man who loved her deeply.

She felt that this man looked somewhat familiar.

After a few seconds, she suddenly remembered and her eyes widened. She thought, 'Isn't this man Felix, the president of the Clinton Group? How did Constance get involved with him?'

Holly asked, "Mr. Clinton, may I ask what your relationship with Constance is?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Holly could clearly feel the temperature in the car drop suddenly.

Holly bit her lower lip and quickly said, "If I've offended you, I apologize. It's just that Constance has been very kind to me, so I'm a bit curious."

"She's my wife," Felix replied.

"What?" Holly's eyes widened in shock, and a feeling of jealousy surged in her heart. She couldn't help but say, "But didn't a reporter previously photograph you walking with another woman and a child?"

Before she could finish, she met Felix's cold gaze in the rearview mirror and immediately stopped.

"You're home," Felix said.

The car stopped, and the door lock clicked open.
