Chapter 210

Gianna stared blankly at Bella as she asked, "Just because you talk to me, I have to respond?"

Bella, fuming, snapped back, "You'll regret this!"

She stormed off but tripped and tumbled down the stairs.

"Ah!" Bella clutched her stomach, wincing in pain, "My stomach hurts so much!"

Gianna hesitated but then remembered Bella was pregnant and called 911.

The ambulance arrived quickly since the hospital was nearby. As the paramedics took Bella away, a nurse stopped Gianna.

The nurse said, "You're family, right? Get in the ambulance. She'll need someone there for the tests."

Before Gianna could refuse, the nurse pulled her in. Bella, unable to argue, went along.

At the hospital, Gianna texted Lauren about Bella's fall and was about to leave when she bumped into Laura.

Laura was holding some medication, and Gianna remembered Mitchell was also hospitalized there.

Laura asked, "Gianna, what brings you here?"

Gianna replied, "Just some stuff. Are you still taking care of Mitchell?"

Gianna knew Laura well. If Laura didn't care for Mitchell, she wouldn't have left her job to look after him.

Laura nodded and said, "Yeah, he's out in half a month. I promised to stay until then."

Seeing Gianna's worried look, Laura quickly added, "Don't get the wrong idea. There's nothing between us."

Gianna frowned, and probed, "Do you have feelings for him?"

Laura bit her lip and admitted, "Yes. No one's ever risked their life for me. When the wire snapped, he ran to me without hesitation. I knew I was in too deep."

Gianna looked down, silent. Matters of the heart are tricky. She could only watch Laura fall deeper.

Laura smiled sadly and said, "But don't worry, I know my family's not a match for him. I don't expect anything."

Gianna frowned, and advised, "Don't improperly belittle yourself. Love makes all equal. If you like him, go for it. I'll support you."

Laura's eyes teared up, and she nodded as she replied, "Thanks, Gianna."

Gianna suggested, "Alright, take care of your stuff, but don't let feelings mess with your work."

Laura assured her, "Don't worry, I won't."

After parting with Laura, Gianna was about to leave the hospital when Felix called.

Felix asked, "Where are you?"

Gianna replied, "At the hospital."

Felix asked worriedly, "Why?"

Gianna explained, "I ran into Bella while discussing business. She fell, so I brought her here."

There was a pause before Felix spoke again, "Wait there. I'm coming over."

He hung up before Gianna could refuse.

Standing at the hospital entrance, Gianna saw Lauren arrive first.

Lauren threatened, "Gianna, what did you do to Bella? She's pregnant! If anything happens to her or the baby, you'll pay!"

When Lauren raised her hand to hit her, Gianna stepped back, her eyes cold.

Gianna explained indifferently, "She fell on her own. I just brought her to the hospital."

Lauren's eyes were icy, and accused, "You've always been jealous of Bella. You must have pushed her!"

Gianna didn't bother arguing. Lauren would never believe her anyway.

Seeing Gianna's indifferent expression, Lauren got even angrier, and said, "You're a monster, doing this to your pregnant sister. I regret not strangling you at birth!"

A cold voice interrupted from nearby, "Lauren, say that again!"

Lauren turned to see Felix, feeling nervous but then regaining her confidence, and said, "Felix, disciplining my daughter is none of your business!"

Felix's expression was icy, and remarked, "Lauren, are you senile? You already announced you cut ties with Gianna. At most, you're strangers now."

Lauren gritted her teeth, and retorted, "That was said in anger. It doesn't count!"

Felix replied, "Sorry, I took it seriously."

Lauren questioned, "Mr. Clinton, are you really going to interfere in our family matters?"

Felix stated bluntly, "Gianna's matters are my matters."

Lauren sneered, "Felix, you act all affectionate now. If you were so affectionate, why did you divorce Gianna in the first place?"

Felix's face darkened, and a chilling aura surrounded him, and said threateningly, "Lauren, what you did to Daisy should be enough to send you in jail for a few years."

Lauren's face changed, and denied, "I don't understand what you mean!"

Felix chuckled coldly, and warned, "If you keep yelling at Gianna and saying nasty things, I'll make you regret."

Lauren clenched her fists, unwilling but with no choice, she snorted and turned towards the hospital.

Felix looked at Gianna and said softly, "If she says such things again, tell me. I'll handle it."

Gianna smiled, and said, "I can handle such small matters."

Felix chided, "Your way of handling it is to do nothing and let her scold you?"

Seeing Felix's displeasure, Gianna said, "I didn't have a chance to speak before you showed up. I had no time to react."

Felix said disappointedly, "So you're blaming me?"

Gianna replied, "Of course not. I'm grateful, not blaming you."

Felix was about to say something when his phone rang. Harmony Garden Leon's panicked voice came through, "Felix, Natalie just fainted! Come back quickly!"

Felix's face changed, and he immediately took Gianna back to Harmony Garden.

When they arrived, Thomas was already there. With heavy expressions, they quickly went inside.

In Natalie's bedroom, the family doctor was examining her. After half an hour, the doctor spoke gravely, "I can't determine the cause of Natalie's fainting. I recommend transferring her to Thundertop for further examination."

The Clinton family's doctor was one of the best in Dawnridge. If he couldn't figure it out, taking Natalie to the hospital wouldn't help.

Felix's expression was cold as he called James, "Contact Thundertop Hospital and prepare a helicopter to come to Harmony Garden immediately."

After hanging up, Thomas said, "I have a friend at Liberty General Hospital in Thundertop. Let's take Natalie there for a check-up."

Felix immediately refused, "No way!"
