Chapter 324

Jack bit his lip. "I'm not bullshitting you. I haven't taken a single dime from home! I've been busting my ass for the Forbes family all these years for you and Mom. They even told me they send you cash every year!"

Naomi shot him a cold look. "You say you didn't take the money, but it vanished, and I never got a cent from anyone. If neither of us is lying, then the Forbes family must've played you!"

Every word she said felt like a gut punch.

Jack snapped back, "No way! They wouldn't lie to me!"

Naomi looked at him like he was an idiot. "If you don't believe me, fine. The day you left home, I swore we were done as siblings."

Jack didn't say anything else, but his face was stone-cold.

Deep down, he started to believe Naomi. If she had really gotten the money, she wouldn't lie to him. So, the only explanation was that the Forbes family was just using him and never planned to help his family.

Thinking about it, Jack's fists clenched, and anger flashed in his eyes.

He had gone through hell all these years to give his mom and Naomi a better life. Helping them out was a piece of cake for the Forbes family, but they refused and nearly pushed Naomi to the edge.

The thought of working for such a family filled Jack with rage and regret.

After a long silence, Jack's eyes were bloodshot, and he said hoarsely, "Naomi, I failed you and Mom. I'm sorry! The Forbes family screwed me over, and I won't let it slide!"

Naomi's face stayed cold. She had already been through the worst, and nothing Jack said now could turn back time or erase the pain she had endured.

Meanwhile, at the Forbes Mansion.

When Gregory heard that Jack had been captured, he smashed a cup in anger and said coldly, "Who the hell sent Jack on a mission to Dawnridge?"

One of the guys kneeling before him trembled and said, "It was me."

As soon as he finished, Gregory kicked him.

The guy flew across the room like a ragdoll, crashing into the wall and coughing up blood.

Despite the pain twisting his face, he quickly got up and kept kneeling, knowing it would be worse if he didn't.

Gregory snarled, "If this happens again, just off yourself. I don't want to get my hands dirty!"

With that, Gregory stood up and stormed out, his face ice-cold.

He knew he needed a new plan.

Felix had captured Jack and would surely get him to spill that the Forbes family was behind it, learning they wanted the key.

Now that Felix was on alert, getting the key would be even trickier. But the thought of the wealth and power he'd gain from the key made Gregory's eyes gleam with determination!

The day after Naomi vanished, Gianna found out that Felix's crew had taken her.

She went straight to the Clinton Group to confront Felix, but he refused to see her.

Gianna was fuming and thought, 'Felix must know why I'm here and doesn't want to hand Naomi over, so he's dodging me.'

After waiting two days at the Clinton Group without seeing Felix, Gianna had to turn to Owen to find Naomi.

Soon, after seeing Owen's message, Gianna's face turned deadly serious.

Gianna was fuming, thinking, 'Felix actually locked Naomi up! What the hell is he up to?'

Around nine that night, Gianna finally cornered Felix at the entrance of Tranquil Haven Estate.

Her face was stone-cold, and she glared at Felix like he was the devil himself.

"Felix, hand over Naomi! You can't just lock her up like that!" Gianna demanded.

Felix looked unfazed. "And who are you to tell me what to do?"

Gianna's face tightened, then she shot back, "I'm Naomi's boss, and I'm responsible for her safety. Even if she messed up, it's not your place to detain her!"

Seeing Gianna getting more and more worked up, Felix's eyes grew colder. She cared so much about a regular employee but never gave a damn about his feelings.

"I'll let her go in a few days. Now get lost," Felix said coldly.

Gianna frowned and snapped, "No, I need to take her now!"

"Not happening!" Felix shot back.

"What are you trying to pull by keeping her locked up?! If you don't let her go right now, I'm calling the cops!"

Felix sneered, "Gianna, you care more about her than you ever did about me. Did you ever even love me?"

Gianna glared at him. "Don't change the subject. I'm taking Naomi today!"

Felix's eyes flashed with irritation. "I said, no way!"

With that, he brushed past Gianna and walked off.

Gianna was about to chase after him when James stepped in.

"Miss Redstone, please don't push Mr. Clinton any further. He has his reasons," James explained.

Gianna frowned. "He has no right to detain my employee without cause!"

James asked, "Do you know that Naomi's brother pushed Mr. Clinton's mother into the street, causing a car accident that left her hospitalized?"

Gianna was stunned. "How would I know? And even if her brother did that, what does it have to do with Naomi?"

James sighed, "Rest assured, Mr. Clinton won't harm Naomi. She'll be back in a few days."

Gianna wanted to argue more, but James had already turned and walked away.

Watching them leave, Gianna stood there for a moment before heading back to Elm Bay.

She had never heard that Naomi had a brother. She thought that even if Naomi's brother caused Ximena's accident, Felix should go after him, not Naomi.

With that thought, Gianna made up her mind to rescue Naomi herself!

Just as Gianna changed into her night gear and was about to leave, the villa went pitch black.

She paused, sensing danger. She quickly dodged to the side as a dart whizzed past her ear, embedding itself in the wall!

Whoever it was, they were good!

With that thought, Gianna swiftly turned and engaged in a fight with the intruder in the dark.

They fought from the bedroom to the balcony. Just as Gianna was about to capture him and find out who sent him, the intruder did a backflip and jumped off the balcony, vanishing into the night.

Gianna frowned. It seemed the intruder wasn't there to kill her but to test her.

Realizing this, her expression changed. It seemed her cover had been blown. But she had no time to worry about who sent the intruder. She quickly drove off, focused on rescuing Naomi.

Meanwhile, in an abandoned factory on the outskirts, Thomas got a call from a subordinate.

"Thomas, I confirmed that Gianna's skills are way better than mine. If I hadn't bailed, she would've caught me."

Thomas sneered, "Got it."
