Chapter 186: The Stingy Person

Thomas frowned and said, "I don't have the time."

Bella chuckled, "I saw you with MY FASHION's designer Emily recently."

Thomas's voice turned icy, "What's your point?"

"I just want to have a meal with you."

"Send the details to my secretary."

Thomas hung up.

Bella raised an eyebrow. How heartless. They were engaged, and she was carrying his child.

At 7 p.m., Thomas arrived at the restaurant on time.

Sitting across from Bella, he said coldly, "Bella, I hate being threatened."

Bella smiled confidently, "But you still came."

Thomas glared, "You didn't just want a meal, did you?"

"Of course not. I'm here to celebrate."

"Celebrate what?"

"MY FASHION's scandal. Haven't you heard?"

Thomas frowned, "You did that?"

Bella nodded, "Now you see what I can do."

Thomas sneered, "Foolish. That won't hurt MY FASHION much."

"That's why I called you."

Thomas's eyes narrowed, "What do you want?"

"Emily likes you, and she's MY FASHION's designer."

Thomas's stare turned menacing.

Bella poured him a glass of wine, "Want to hear my plan?"

Gianna had just returned home when Faith called.

"Gianna, the detective following Ronald's parents has news! Guess who they met today?" Faith said.

"Who?"

"Nathan!"

Gianna paused, frowning, "Are you sure?"

"Yes, and Nathan gave them a bank card when he left!"

"Got it, keep an eye on them." Gianna hung up, puzzled. Why was Nathan involved?

Before she could think further, her phone rang again.

Summer's tearful voice came through. "Please, save my brother!"

At the hospital, the nurse was processing Ronald's discharge papers. Summer clung to the bed, refusing to let them take Ronald.

The nurse looked helpless, "Miss Parker, your family can afford the bills but won't pay. We need the bed for other patients. You have to take your brother home."

"No, I'll get the money! Just give me until noon tomorrow!"

Summer had said this several times, and the nurse didn't believe her. But they couldn't force them out, so they were at a stalemate.

Gianna stood at the door, having heard most of it.

She walked in, "How much is the overdue bill? I'll pay it."

The nurse and Summer turned to see Gianna.

Summer, seeing a savior, quickly got up and knelt before Gianna. "Please, save my brother. I'll do anything!"

Gianna helped her up and paid the bills, then asked, "I gave you $60,000 this morning. Why didn't you use it for the bills?"

Anger flashed through Summer's eyes as she gritted her teeth, "All the hospital bills are with my dad. I transferred the money to him to pay the bills, but he took it and said he wouldn't spend another penny on my brother, leaving him to fend for himself!"

Gianna frowned, "Why are your parents so heartless?"

"My brother isn't my biological brother. My parents adopted him. Later, they had me. They wanted to abandon him but were afraid of what the neighbors would say, so they kept him. But they treated him terribly, often taking out their anger on him. I told him many times to leave, but he said he wanted to protect me until I grew up. I had just gotten my college acceptance letter, and we were about to escape. But then my brother had an allergic reaction and fell into a coma in the ICU..."

Gianna handed Summer a tissue, "He will get better."

Summer wiped her tears, "I guessed my brother's situation had nothing to do with your company, but I didn't know where to find the money for the bills. If the ventilator stops, he won't make it... I'm sorry..."

After a while, Summer calmed down.

With swollen eyes, she looked at Gianna, "Don't worry, I'll bring his clothes to you."

Gianna shook her head, "No need. The fabric is enough. Whether you give me the clothes or not doesn't matter."

Summer bit her lip, "Only without those clothes will my parents stop being so arrogant."

She had already guessed her parents were behind Ronald's allergic reaction, but she had still held a sliver of hope for them. Now, she had none.

Seeing Summer's insistence, Gianna didn't say more.

Maybe for Summer, she needed to do something to find peace of mind.

After accompanying Summer, Gianna was about to leave when she suddenly felt a chill down her spine.

She looked up and saw a tall figure at the end of the hallway, her eyes flashing with surprise.

It wasn't until Felix stood in front of her that Gianna snapped out of it.

"What are you doing here?" Gianna asked.

"A friend said they saw you at the hospital, so I came over."

Gianna frowned, "You have a friend working at the hospital?"

"It's Mitchell. He broke his leg while saving someone and is hospitalized."

Summer, standing nearby, was stunned the moment she saw Felix.

She had never seen such a handsome man. Her heart started to race, and her face gradually turned red.

However, Felix didn't even glance at her. He took Gianna's hand, "Come with me to see Mitchell."

Gianna hesitated, "But I didn't bring anything."

If she had known Mitchell was hospitalized, she would have brought some fruit or flowers.

"He doesn't need those."

With that, Felix pulled Gianna away without giving her a chance to refuse.

Summer watched their backs, unable to snap out of it for a long time.

Ten minutes later, Felix opened Mitchell's hospital room door.

Mitchell was lying in bed with a cast on his left leg, looking quite good.

Beside the bed, a slender woman was feeding him chicken soup.

The moment Gianna saw the woman's back, she had a bad feeling and instinctively said, "Laura..."
