Chapter 404

"You!"

Julian raised his hand to hit her, but Constance sneered, "Ms. Redstone, if you dare to slap me, you might end up in the police station later."

Julian asked, "Are you threatening me?"

Constance said, "If you think it's a threat, then it's a threat."

"Just you wait!"

Julian stormed off angrily, but what he said in the design department sparked a discussion.

"Isn't Constance's last name Drake? Why did Ms. Redstone say he's Constance's father?"

"I heard a rumor that Constance is the daughter of the president of the Drake Group. Not sure if it's true."

"No way. I think it's just gossip. How could the daughter of the president of the Drake Group come to Luminary Ventures Group to be a designer?"

Amidst the discussions, Samuel arrived at Luminary Ventures Group.

When Caroline Reynolds, the president of Luminary Ventures Group, saw him, she was surprised. "What brings you here?"

Samuel had a faint smile.

Having known him for many years, Caroline could tell he was in a bad mood. "What happened?"

Samuel said, "I heard that Julian, the president of the Redstone Group, caused a scene in front of Constance and demanded that your company fire her, or else he would terminate the partnership."

A father making things so difficult for his own daughter was simply inhumane!

If it weren't for Timothy holding him back, Samuel would have already taken action to bankrupt the Redstone Group!

Caroline was stunned for a moment and frowned. "I've been busy lately and hadn't heard about this. I'll have my secretary, Arlene, look into it."

Samuel sat down on the sofa, looking relaxed. "Alright."

Ten minutes later, Arlene Russell knocked and entered. "Ms. Reynolds, when Mr. Redstone came to the company to discuss the details of the partnership with Grant, he did ask Grant to fire Constance, but Grant refused him at the time. Also, today someone claiming to be Constance's mother came to see her. Constance refused to meet her, and later she fainted downstairs. Mr. Redstone came to cause trouble for Constance and just left not long ago."

Caroline felt a headache coming on and frowned. "What's the relationship between that woman and Mr. Redstone?"

"She's Mr. Redstone's wife." Arlene replied.

Caroline said, "I see. You can go back to work now."

After Arlene left, Caroline looked at Samuel sitting on the sofa. "How do you want me to handle this?"

Samuel said, "Terminate the contract with the Redstone Group. Julian is blatantly bullying Constance, and I won't let him off so easily!"

Caroline rubbed her forehead in frustration and said, "If the Redstone Group didn't have Teresa backing them, I would agree to this. But terminating the contract with the Redstone Group means offending Teresa. You know, our company has a lot of partnerships with the Forbes Group."

Samuel sneered, "It's just Teresa. You don't really think the Forbes family supports her in propping up the Redstone Group, do you?"

Caroline was silent for a few seconds and frowned. "But I still don't want to strain relationships too much. You know she's not easy to deal with. Didn't you suffer a loss at her hands back then?"

Samuel retorted, "That was because I was young at the time. It's fine if you don't agree. I won't let Julian bring his company to Thundertop, and I definitely won't let him hurt Constance again!"

With that, Samuel left directly.

Caroline felt he might do something impulsive and quickly called Eliza to tell her about Samuel's visit.

Unexpectedly, Eliza just responded calmly, "I understand, Caroline. Thank you for telling me, but I believe he knows what he's doing."

Caroline was stunned for a moment, a look of disbelief flashing in her eyes.

She didn't expect Eliza to treat Constance so well, as if she had truly become her own daughter.

For some reason, she felt a bit sad.

Caroline said, "Eliza, even if you're angry about what the Redstone family did to Constance, you should calm down and think about what to do next."

"Caroline, Samuel is an adult. I trust him."

Seeing Eliza say this, Caroline could only respond, "Alright, I won't disturb your rest then. I'll visit the Drake family next time I get a chance."

"Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Caroline thought for a while and called Arlene in. "Draft a termination contract and send it to the Redstone Group."

Arlene's eyes flashed with shock, and she quickly advised, "Ms. Reynolds, even if Mr. Redstone had a conflict with our company's designer, there's no need to terminate the contract."

The profit from this partnership with the Redstone Group would be in the hundreds of millions of dollars, making it one of the biggest deals of the year.

Caroline's expression remained unchanged, and she said calmly, "Do as I say."

Arlene continued, "Ms. Reynolds, I suggest you reconsider."

Before she could finish, Caroline said coldly, "Who's the boss here, you or me?"

Realizing she was angry, Arlene quickly lowered her head. "Alright, I'll take care of it right away."

After Arlene left, Caroline's grip on the document tightened unconsciously. If she didn't terminate the partnership with the Redstone Group, the Drake family might not say anything, but they would definitely think she was someone who prioritized profit over everything else, possibly causing a rift.

Compared to the long-term benefits the Drake family could offer, the short-term gains from partnering with the Redstone Group were insignificant.

However, she couldn't help but feel a sense of disgust towards Constance. She knew Constance was the adopted daughter of the Drake family, but everyone in the Drake family treated her as one of their own.

Even Samuel, who was usually cold to outsiders, was very protective of Constance.

Thinking of this, a flash of jealousy appeared in Caroline's eyes.

She took a deep breath, trying not to dwell on it, and continued reading the documents.

Julian returned to the hospital and finally relaxed after learning that Lauren was fine.

However, just as he sat down by the bedside, he received a call from Andrew. "Ms. Redstone, Luminary Ventures Group wants to terminate the contract with us!"

"What?" Julian's eyes flashed with anger, and he gritted his teeth. "What's going on? Why are they suddenly terminating the contract? Is Luminary Ventures Group crazy?"

To secure the deal with Luminary Ventures Group, he had offered a price far above the market rate. If anyone should be terminating the contract, it should be him!

Andrew said, "It seems to be because you went to Luminary Ventures Group to find Constance today. The Drake family found out and pressured Luminary Ventures Group."

Upon hearing this, Julian flew into a rage. "The Drake family is too much! Don't handle this for now; I'll call you back later."

After hanging up, Julian immediately called Teresa. She was the only one who could help him now.

However, as soon as the call connected, Teresa's angry voice came through, "Julian! What did you do? Now the Drake family wants to terminate several contracts with me. I had to ask around to find out that you offended the Drake family!"

Julian was stunned and suddenly felt a bit guilty.

The Drake family could easily deal with Teresa, let alone him, someone who had just come to Thundertop from Dawnridge with no power or influence.

A wave of regret washed over him; he shouldn't have gone to see Constance today.

Not hearing Julian's response, Teresa became even more furious. "Say something! What exactly did you do?"
