Chapter 306

It was pretty obvious someone wanted to shut up a witness. Felix's eyes went ice-cold.

Felix barked, "It had to be Thomas. Keep digging around Dawnridge. We gotta find him!"

James nodded, "Yes, Mr. Clinton. Need a doc to check out your wound?"

Felix waved it off, "Nah, I'm good."

Just as he hung up, Gianna strolled out of the kitchen with two cups of coffee. She handed one to Felix and looked down at him, "Did you find the guy?"

"Yeah, but he's already dead," Felix replied.

Gianna didn't even flinch. She took a sip of her coffee and suddenly remembered the group had used guns.

Gianna mused, "Gun control's tight here, but when they were chasing me, they shot out my car windows and hit the body a few times. If I'm not wrong, they used a Beretta 92, with a range of about 160 feet."

Felix's eyes widened a bit, then he said, "I'll get James on it right away. We should have answers soon."

"Okay," Gianna nodded.

At dawn, Felix got a call from James.

James said, "Mr. Clinton, we found out the gun was bought on the black market, so we can't be sure if it was Thomas."

Felix's face stayed stone-cold. He ordered, "Keep digging. If he sent people to kill Gianna, he's still hiding in Dawnridge."

Meanwhile, in Bella's bedroom, Thomas was packing his stuff. "I gotta go. Felix will find out I'm here soon. When he does, just say I threatened your parents' lives, so you couldn't speak up."

Bella glared at him, seething with anger.

Bella sneered, "You think Felix will buy that?"

Thomas paused and looked back at her. "Then are you coming with me?"

Bella instinctively stepped back, her voice icy, "No way!"

Thomas continued, "Then make Felix believe you. Remember, if anything happens to the kid in your belly, killing you will be way easier than killing Gianna and Felix."

Seeing the malice in his eyes, Bella regretted letting Thomas stay with her for so long. He was a total psycho!

Thomas said nothing more. He finished packing, took one last look at Bella's swollen belly, and turned to leave.

If he had managed to kill Gianna yesterday, he could have seen his kid born. Now, it seemed there was no chance.

Just as he was about to jump out the window, Bella suddenly said, "Wait!"

Thomas turned back, malice flashing in his eyes, "What?"

"You said you'd deal with Gianna for me, and now you're just bailing?" Bella taunted.

"I'll be back, and it won't be long," Thomas replied.

Before Bella gave birth, he would take care of everything.

"Wait for my message!" With that, Thomas jumped out the window and vanished into the night.

Bella closed the window, walked back to her bed, and lay down. She quickly thought about whether to trust Thomas again.

Before she could decide, Felix arrived.

Seeing Felix and Gianna together, Bella was shocked. "Felix, why are you with Gianna? Didn't you guys break up?"

Felix ignored her question, his expression cold. He demanded, "Has Thomas been hiding here all this time?"

Bella was stunned for a moment, then her eyes welled up, and tears fell.

Bella cried, "Yes, he threatened me with my parents' lives not to reveal his whereabouts. But I went to your office to find you. You told me to get out and didn't give me a chance to speak."

Felix frowned and said coldly, "When did you come to my office?"

Bella replied, "It was when I saw the engagement ring in your office."

With Bella's reminder, James also remembered.

James said, "Mr. Clinton, Miss Redstone did come to see you that time, saying she had info on Thomas, so I let her up."

Felix's face turned even colder. He glared at James, "You never mentioned this to me!"

James quickly explained, "I saw you kick Miss Redstone out and thought she had already told you. Miss Redstone often made excuses to see you, so I thought it was the same that time." James's voice grew quieter as Felix's expression grew colder, almost freezing.

Gianna said softly, "No point in talking about this now. The main thing is to find out where Thomas is."

Bella bit her lip and said with a wronged expression, "He suddenly packed up and left last night. I don't know why."

She cried pitifully, but Felix's eyes showed no warmth.

Felix asked, "Did you participate in what he did?"

Bella looked confused, tears still hanging on her lashes. She pretended she knew nothing, "What did he do?"

Felix warned, "You better not have been involved, or I won't let you off!"

Bella was so frightened by Felix's cold expression that her face turned pale. She bit her lip and said with a wronged expression, "Felix, if you don't believe me, I can swear. He did nothing but hide in my room and stare at my belly every day. I lived in fear every day."

Felix didn't want to listen anymore. He turned and left with Gianna.

Bella watched their backs. Her fear turned into jealousy and hatred.

James and his men searched the Redstone Mansion but didn't find Thomas.

James said, "Mr. Clinton, he probably escaped after killing Louis Jackson last night."

Felix's expression was cold as he looked at Gianna, "Do you think Bella knew about what Thomas did?"

Gianna's expression was indifferent, "Do you believe her?"

Gianna wouldn't believe a word that came out of Bella's mouth.

Felix was silent for a few seconds, then said coldly, "Have someone keep an eye on Bella and see if Thomas contacts her!"

"Yes, Mr. Clinton!" James replied.

The two left the Redstone Mansion and went to Harmony Garden.

Natalie had heard about Gianna's car accident that morning and was almost scared to death. The two decided to visit her to reassure her. On the way, they received a call from James, saying that Thomas had been hiding at the Redstone Mansion, so they turned the car around and headed there.

When they arrived at Harmony Garden, they saw Natalie standing at the door. She looked extremely worried.

Gianna quickly got out of the car and walked up to Natalie. "Natalie, why are you waiting outside in this cold weather?"

Seeing Gianna, Natalie finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "I wanted to see you as soon as possible, so I came out to wait. I'm not cold."

Gianna touched her hand, which was already ice-cold.

Gianna said, "Let's go inside! You can't take this cold weather!"

Natalie replied, "Okay, let go of me. My hands are cold; I don't want you to get cold."

Gianna didn't let go, insisting on holding her hand and leading her inside. Only when they felt the warmth did she let go.

Gianna said again, "Natalie, you can't do this again, or I'll be mad!"

Natalie quickly agreed and had the servants bring Gianna's favorite foods. She smiled and said, "Gianna, eat more. Seeing you safe, I feel at ease. Felix should get you a driver from now on; otherwise, I won't be reassuring."
