Chapter 223
Gianna stood up to leave.
Felix grabbed her hand, his face cold. He declared, "I'm not breaking up!"
Gianna pulled away. She demanded, "Felix, don't cling to me."
Felix questioned, "Just because Bella answered your call, you want to break up?"
His eyes were angry, but Gianna stayed calm.
She looked him in the eye. Gianna answered, "Yes."
He'd never understand how she felt when she called him or when the cold seawater surrounded her.
From the moment she woke up, she vowed never to like him again.
She'd slowly erase him from her heart, no matter how painful.
Seeing her resolve, Felix stepped back.
Gianna saw a flicker of vulnerability in his eyes but quickly dismissed it. Felix, proud as he was, couldn't be vulnerable.
Felix turned and left, looking flustered and embarrassed.
After he left, Raymond looked at Gianna. He said, "Felix won't agree to a break up so easily."
Gianna was indifferent. She replied, "I don't care if he agrees."
Bella's voice on the phone had sealed their fate.
Raymond asked, "Why are you so determined to break up with him? Is it just because of a phone call?"
Gianna looked at him, distant. She replied, "Mr. Musk, it's personal. Thanks for saving me and taking care of me. I'm almost recovered, so I'll leave soon."
Even if Felix hadn't shown up, she planned to tell Raymond she was leaving today.
Raymond was stunned, and asked, "Is it because of my question? If so, I apologize. You're not fully healed. It's better to recover first."
Gianna shook her head in disagreement, She insisted, "No, it's time for me to go back."
Seeing her determination, Raymond hid his disappointment, and offered, "I'll book a ticket. I need to handle some company matters too."
Gianna agreed, "Okay."
Raymond was about to leave when Gianna spoke again.
Gianna said, "Raymond, I owe you a favor. If you ever need my help..."
Raymond interrupted, serious, "I didn't save you to make you owe me. I did it willingly. No burden."
Gianna nodded in understanding but kept the favor in mind, planning to repay it someday.
Back in Dawnridge, Gianna parted ways with Raymond at the airport.
She went straight to Elm Bay to rest for a few days before going to the company.
She didn't plan to return to Tranquil Haven Estate.
Raymond had just arrived home when Mitchell called, inviting him for a drink.
Opening the private room door, he saw Felix inside, looking cold. Raymond paused, then walked in and closed the door.
Sitting on the sofa, Felix's cold voice broke the silence.
Felix asked directly, "How long have you liked her?"
Raymond poured a drink, took a sip, and said, "Almost three years. After you got married, she was always trying to heal your leg. At first, I noticed she and Bella looked alike but had different personalities. Before I knew it, I couldn't let go."
At first, Raymond thought about giving up, so he stayed away from the Clinton family for half a year.
But then, at a banquet, he saw her quietly eating cake, oblivious to everything else. He couldn't take his eyes off her and knew he was hooked.
"Stay away from Gianna, or don't blame me for ending our friendship!" Felix warned.
Raymond was silent for a moment, then looked at Felix, and claimed, "She's broken up with you. I have the right to pursue her."
Felix sneered, "We haven't even divorced. Do you think you have a chance?"
Raymond, Mitchell, and Uriah were all shocked.
Raymond's eyes were cold. and said impatiently, "Felix, even if you don't want me to pursue her, don't use such a lame excuse!"
Felix's expression was icy, and dared, "If you don't believe me, check for yourself."
Mitchell frowned, and asked, "What's going on? When Gianna said you were divorced, you didn't deny it!"
Felix revealed, "She was insistent on divorcing, so I had James make a fake divorce certificate to make her think we were."
Raymond's face darkened, and his hand clenched into a fist.
If Felix and Gianna were really divorced, he could compete fairly. But now, he didn't even have the right to confess his feelings.
He glared at Felix, and said angrily, "Is it fair to deceive Gianna like this? What happens when she finds out?"
Felix replied, "As long as you don't tell her, she'll never know."
Raymond threw a punch at Felix!
Felix didn't dodge, and they started fighting, hitting each other's vital points despite their combat training.
Soon, both were injured.
Uriah wanted to step in but was stopped by Mitchell.
Mitchell advised, "If you go now, you'll just get hit. They needed to fight this out."
Half an hour later, both were exhausted and in bad shape.
Raymond looked at Felix, and warned, "If I find out you're treating her badly again, I'll take her away, even if I have to fight for her!"
Felix sneered, "I won't give you that chance!"
After resting, they picked up their jackets and left.
Uriah looked worried, and asked, "Are they cutting ties? Do we have to split our gatherings now?"
Mitchell glared at him, and suggested, "They'll be fine. Worry about yourself. Is Faith talking to you now?"
Uriah's face fell, and replied, "Don't bring up my sad story. She has a boyfriend now. I won't bother her."
Mitchell looked surprised, and remarked, "Didn't expect you to be sensible."
Uriah suddenly wanted to fight Mitchell too.
After leaving the bar, Felix had the driver take him to Elm Bay and then dismissed him.
Seeing the light from the villa's living room, he walked to the door and knocked.
Gianna thought it was the delivery and opened the door without looking.
When she saw Felix, she frowned and tried to close the door.
Felix stopped it, looking somewhat pitiful.
Felix said pitifully, "The injuries on my face are from Raymond."
Gianna looked impatient, and asked, "What does that have to do with me? I'm not a doctor. Want me to call 911?"
Felix grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him.
Gianna didn't react at first, but when Felix placed her hand on his chest, she looked at him coldly, and demanded, "Let me go!"
Felix tightened his grip, his voice deeper than usual.
Felix said seriously, "You are the cure for my lovesickness. Only you can heal me."
