Chapter 426
Felix nodded. "Yeah, I got it."
Recently, he had been either at the company or the villa, without even a chance to be alone with Mandy, let alone do anything to her.
However, there must be someone behind this, and the most likely person he could think of was Thomas.
"By the way, investigate Thomas and the people around him. This is very likely his doing," Felix said.
The lawyer nodded. "Alright."
They all walked out of the police station together when suddenly a group of people rushed up and surrounded them.
A dark-skinned, mean-looking woman pointed at Felix and said, "You're the boss who caused my daughter's death, right? I won't let you get away with this! Pay up, you must pay up!"
Felix's expression was icy, and his aura intimidated Sienna Fisher. However, she quickly sneered, "I'm telling you, without ten million dollars, this matter won't be over between us!"
"Mandy's death has nothing to do with me. It's already good enough that I didn't sue you for her suicide at my company, affecting my employees. And you still want compensation? Dream on!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Sienna started shouting, "Murder! You insulted my daughter, and now you want to sue us?"
The crowd surged forward, glaring at Felix.
Someone angrily said, "Sienna, stop wasting time with him. If he doesn't pay up, we'll beat him up and see if he dares to deny it!"
The lawyer sneered, "If you're not afraid of going to jail, go ahead and try!"
"Don't think threatening us will work. Our child worked at your company and committed suicide for no reason. Even if we go to jail, we want an explanation!"
"Yeah, beat him up! If he doesn't pay, beat him to death!"
"My poor daughter, if I had known she would encounter this after going to college, I would have had her marry someone instead!"
As they spoke, the crowd began to push Felix and his group. Some men even tried to take advantage of Constance.
Constance's expression turned cold. She grabbed one man's hand and threw him over her shoulder, slamming him to the ground.
A scream echoed, and another man rushed forward to grab Constance, only to be kicked away by her.
Everyone was stunned, unable to believe Constance was so skilled.
"Get her! Beat this woman first!" Sienna shouted.
As soon as the words fell, a few burly men closest to Constance charged at her. However, before they could reach her, she and Felix had already taken them down, leaving them writhing on the ground.
Seeing they couldn't win, Sienna sat on the ground and started wailing. "She actually hit me right outside the police station! That's so rude! Somebody help!"
The crowd looked at Constance with anger, but no one dared to step forward. After all, the few who had tried were now lying on the ground, bruised and groaning.
Felix pulled Constance behind him and whispered, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
The two sides faced off, with only Sienna's wailing breaking the silence at the police station entrance.
Her loud cries quickly attracted the attention of the police, who came out and took everyone back inside to make statements.
After reviewing the surveillance footage and taking statements, the police let Felix and his group go.
As soon as they returned to the Clinton Group, the PR manager hurriedly approached Felix. "Mr. Clinton, someone took photos of you fighting with Mandy's family at the police station entrance and posted them online. Now everyone is cursing you and the Clinton Group, and the stock is plummeting!"
Felix's expression was icy. "Get the news taken down. I don't want a single photo of this incident out there!"
The PR manager looked troubled. "I'm afraid that's not possible. Vertex Holdings Group is behind this, fanning the flames."
Felix sneered, "Then release the news about Thomas kidnapping my grandmother and aunt, and deliberately transferring Clinton Group assets. And send the evidence to the police."
He hadn't wanted to move against Thomas to avoid alerting him, but if he didn't give Thomas something to deal with, Thomas would keep targeting him.
"Understood, Mr. Clinton."
After the PR manager left, Felix took Constance to his office. He had James bring her some snacks and drinks before heading to a meeting.
In the meeting, all the shareholders looked grim.
The Clinton Group was negotiating a financing project, which was almost finalized, just needing a signature. But because of Felix's incident, the financing fell through, and the Clinton Group lost a lot of assets.
"Mr. Clinton, we hope you can give us an explanation for this!"
"This morning alone, the Clinton Group's stock dropped several points. If you can't manage your image, Mr. Clinton, you might as well step down!"
"Many partners have already terminated contracts recently. Now with this incident, even more will follow, and the recent project is probably hopeless too!"
Felix's expression was icy as he coldly glanced at the shareholders. Seeing their anger and dissatisfaction, he sneered.
"Mr. Clinton, what are you laughing at?"
"I just find it funny. Over the years, has the Clinton Group been maintained by my image? With just a little trouble, you act like the Clinton Group is about to collapse, only complaining. Why not think about how to change the current situation?" Felix retorted.
As he finished speaking, the meeting room fell silent.
After a long while, a shareholder couldn't help but say, "Mr. Clinton, you caused this mess. Why should we shareholders solve it for you?"
Felix coldly looked at the shareholder and said word by word, "When I secured deals and you received billions in dividends at the end of the year, why didn't you say you didn't want that money? You just want to take the money without contributing? There's no such good deal!"
"Moreover, I have nothing to do with Mandy. This is just a tactic to target the Clinton Group. The Clinton Group hasn't even been affected much, and you're already turning against me. If you really don't trust me, you can sell your shares to me. I'll buy them back at 10% above market price!" he added.
The meeting room fell silent, and everyone lowered their heads, not daring to speak.
Seeing the quiet shareholders, Felix stood up and said, "If there's nothing else, the meeting is adjourned. Instead of wasting time on useless things, focus on doing your job well!"
With that, Felix left the meeting room.
Only when the suffocating atmosphere eased did the shareholders relax.
Back in his office, Felix called James in and said in a deep voice, "Arrange a meeting with Mr. Cox."
