Hearing the busy tone on the phone, Teresa frowned and handed the phone back to Julian. "She refuses to see us. It looks like we'll have to go to her company to find her in person."
Anger flashed in Julian's eyes. "I didn't agree with you apologizing to her in the first place. Finding her is worse than finding someone from the Drake family!"
Teresa gave him a cold look. "Don't you get it yet? The reason the Drake family had Luminary Ventures Group terminate their cooperation with the Redstone Group is to vent for Constance. If we can get Constance to say a few good words in front of the Drake family, it would be more effective than us saying a hundred."
"Who would have thought she'd be so lucky? Not only did she survive, but she was also adopted by the Drake family and is living a good life now," she added.
Teresa was silent for a moment before speaking, "Julian, I don't know what you and Lauren were thinking before. Why you were so biased towards your two daughters. If you want the Redstone Group to thrive in the long term in Thundertop, it's better to be nicer to Constance."
Given Constance's current status, even Teresa had to please her. She really couldn't understand what Julian was thinking, going out of his way to trouble Constance.
"Teresa, have you forgotten what that fortune teller said about her bringing ruin to the Redstone family? Maybe it's because of her that we're so unlucky now!"
"We're in this mess because you and Lauren went out of your way to trouble her. Otherwise, the Drake family might not even remember who you are!"
Julian's face turned ugly at Teresa's words, and he remained silent with a sullen expression.
"Given my current relationship with her, even if I wanted to please her, it's too late," Teresa said.
Thinking about what Julian and Lauren had done to Constance before made Teresa feel troubled.
"Forget it, I'll see what I can do about this. I'm heading back now," Julian said.
"I'll take you."
As they walked to the hospital entrance, they ran into Bella and Thomas, who were there with Delilah for a check-up.
"What are you doing here?" Bella asked.
Meeting Bella's puzzled gaze, Julian frowned. "Why are you at the hospital? Is Delilah sick?"
"Yes, she has a bit of a fever."
She handed Delilah to Thomas and said softly, "You take Delilah inside first. I need to talk to my dad."
"Okay."
Thomas nodded slightly at Julian and Teresa and quickly walked away with Delilah.
Julian was shocked, pointing at Thomas's back. "Who is he?"
Teresa, on the other hand, was equally shocked. If she wasn't mistaken, that man was Thomas, the CEO of Vertex Holdings Group.
She had missed Thomas's return banquet because she was on a business trip, but she had seen him when she later delivered documents to Vertex Holdings Group.
How did Bella know Thomas, and they seemed to have a close relationship!
Bella bit her lip and said slowly, "Dad, he's Delilah's father, Thomas."
"What? You're still entangled with that man? Have you forgotten what he did before?"
"Dad, he's different now. He can provide a stable life for me and Delilah, so I'm reconsidering being with him."
"You're going to drive me crazy! Break it off with that man immediately. I'll introduce you to some excellent men!"
Bella scoffed. What good men could Julian introduce her to? Probably just some rich guys from Dawnridge.
Since coming to Thundertop, she had no interest in those people at all.
"Dad, Delilah needs me by her side since she's sick. I won't talk to you now. I'll arrange for him to have dinner with you another day." With that, Bella hurriedly left.
Julian's face contorted with anger, and he was about to chase after her when Teresa pulled him back.
"Why are you holding me back? I need to teach her a lesson today!" Julian said.
"Do you know who Thomas is?" Teresa looked at Julian in disbelief, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
She couldn't understand how he could be so lucky. Both of his daughters were doing exceptionally well, yet his company was on the brink of bankruptcy.
Julian frowned. "Of course I know, which is why I can't let Bella be with a man like him."
"Have you heard of Vertex Holdings Group?"
"Of course, Vertex Holdings Group is a major corporation in Thundertop, worth billions of dollars. But why are you bringing this up?"
"Thomas is the CEO of Vertex Holdings Group."
If Thomas was willing to cooperate with the Redstone Group and the Forbes Group, it wouldn't matter if they couldn't restore the previous deals with the Drake Group.
Julian's face was filled with shock. "Teresa, are you out of your mind today? Thomas is the CEO of Vertex Holdings Group?"
Teresa couldn't help but shake her head and took out her phone to call her secretary. "Send me the information on the CEO of Vertex Holdings Group."
After receiving the information from her secretary, she handed the phone directly to Julian. "See for yourself."
Five minutes later, Julian said in disbelief, "How is this possible?"
In his imagination, the CEO of Vertex Holdings Group should be a man around his age, not someone as young as Thomas!
"Whether you want to believe it or not, he is the CEO of Vertex Holdings Group. If you don't want to please Constance, you can start with Bella. After all, your relationship with Bella is much better."
"Alright, I understand. I'll think about it."
Teresa didn't push him further and said, "Do it quickly. I'm currently more inclined to seek cooperation with Thomas."
Given the poor relationship between Constance and Julian, it was almost impossible to mend it. If Bella could persuade Thomas to cooperate with the Redstone Group and the Forbes Group, they wouldn't have to worry about offending the Drake family.
After Teresa left, Julian stood there for a while before returning to Lauren's ward.
Lauren was already awake and was eating some fruit.
Seeing Julian, she frowned. "Where did you go just now?"
"Teresa came to see you, and I walked her to the entrance."
Julian walked to the bedside and sat down. After hesitating for a moment, he said, "I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
"Do you know Vertex Holdings Group?"
Lauren thought for a moment and said, "I think I've seen an ad for it somewhere. It's a big company. Why do you ask?"
"The CEO of Vertex Holdings Group is Thomas."
Lauren's eyes flashed with shock as she stared at him. "Is the Thomas you're talking about Bella's ex-fiancé?"
"Yes, and it seems like he's back with Bella now. When I was walking Teresa out, I ran into them at the entrance. He and Bella were there with Delilah for a check-up."
Hearing this, Lauren's face turned pale, and she quickly said, "You didn't let Bella find out that I'm in Thundertop, did you?"
"No, she probably doesn't know yet, but we won't be able to hide it for long."
"We should at least wait until I'm six or seven months pregnant before telling her. Otherwise, I'm afraid she might overthink it," Lauren replied.
Julian sighed, "You don't need to worry about that. Now that she's with Thomas, she probably doesn't care about the Redstone Group anymore."
