Chapter 160
Gianna fell silent for a few seconds before speaking, "I'm not about to get into a price war with LR Design Studio."
At these words, everyone looked at her in surprise.
Hayden, who harbored resentment toward Gianna due to previous events, flashed a contemptuous look in his eyes and said with a smirk, "If we don't engage in a price war with LR Design Studio, MY FASHION will suffer even greater losses!"
Gianna remained composed. "I understand, but continuously selling clothes at a loss will only lead MY FASHION to accumulate more losses."
Hayden sneered, "It seems like you have other ideas, Ms. Redstone."
"I have decided to develop a high-end evening gown line at MY FASHION and, at the same time, change MY FASHION's market positioning to target white-collar professionals. As for the low-end line, if it continues to be profitable, we can keep it, but if not, we may consider discontinuing it."
One shareholder, who had been silent in the corner, suddenly chimed in, his voice tinged with anger, "Ms. Redstone, currently, MY FASHION's customer base consists of a small number of high-end clients, with the majority of our efforts and funds invested in the low-end line. If we suddenly launch a high-end line, not only may we struggle to find enough high-end clients for the time being, but it might also drag down our existing low-end line!"
Gianna nodded. "I have considered what you said, but everything involves risks. Without trying, we will never succeed."
The remaining shareholders did not speak, but their expressions said it all—they weren't buying what Gianna had said.
After a long silence, Hayden sneered, "Even if we were to launch a high-end line, it would take at least a year to see results. The price war we are currently facing is something we must address."
Gianna raised an eyebrow. "Yes, I know. However, this time, we cannot let LR Design Studio take the lead. We must take the initiative."
"How do we take the initiative?"
Gianna glanced at Hayden and smiled. "That's my concern. Just hang tight; you'll find out in a few days."
Hayden's expression turned cold, but he did not press further, only mockingly saying, "I look forward to your performance, Ms. Redstone!"
After the meeting, Gianna asked Faith to stay behind and shared her plan with her.
Upon hearing it, Faith's eyes were filled with shock. "Are you sure about this? What if LR Design Studio finds out?"
Gianna smiled. "Don't worry. Given Bella's character, coupled with the billion-dollar funding Clinton Group recently provided to LR Design Studio, she won't give up until she achieves her goal."
This time, Gianna was determined to make LR Design Studio suffer!
Faith pursed her lips but ultimately agreed, "Alright, I'll follow your lead."
"Good, get ready. Also, bring Emily to my office," said Gianna.
When Emily received the call to go to the CEO's office, she was carefully messaging Thomas.
Since seeing Thomas at Harmony Garden last night, Emily had been smitten with him, appreciating his gentle demeanor. After the banquet, she had mustered the courage to add him on Facebook.
Upon learning Emily's identity, Thomas politely expressed that he wasn't currently considering romantic matters, but Emily was not willing to give up so easily.
After all these years, Emily finally met a man she liked. She was unwilling to let go so soon.
She sent several messages, but Thomas did not respond. Disheartened, Emily put away her phone and headed upstairs.
Upon entering the office and seeing Gianna, Emily felt a bit uneasy. After all, Gianna bore a striking resemblance to Bella, with whom Emily had conflicts recently.
"Emily, please have a seat," Gianna said.
As Emily sat down across from Gianna, she asked, "Ms. Redstone, what can I help you with?"
"I reviewed your resume and noticed you excel in designing dresses, especially evening gowns."
Emily nodded. "Yes, I can also design everyday clothing."
"I plan to develop a high-end evening gown line. Do you feel confident in leading this project?" Gianna asked.
Seeing Gianna's serious expression, Emily was taken aback.
"Ms. Redstone, I'm just a newcomer. I may not have the capability to lead such a project."
Gianna smiled. "If there's anything you're unsure about, you can always seek help from Faith. Once you have your designs ready, you can show them to me. Just focus on your work."
After a moment of stunned silence, Emily found her voice again. "Why me?"
"I see potential in you. You recently placed third in a design competition, right? I've seen your designs, and though they may be a bit immature, they have a certain charm."
Emily looked surprised. "Ms. Redstone, you can design?"
"Yes, I have some background in it. I should be able to guide you."
Upon hearing this, Emily's eyes revealed a hint of doubt. Even Bella, the first-place winner, probably wouldn't confidently claim to guide her, yet Gianna seemed so sure.
Emily lowered her gaze and directly opened her phone to show her design sketches to Gianna.
"Ms. Redstone, this is my design. Take a look."
After glancing at the sketches, Gianna calmly pointed out. "The bow accessory and the metal chain around the waist create conflicting vertical and horizontal compositions. Additionally, the hem of the skirt could be raised a bit, and opting for lighter colors might enhance the design."
As Gianna finished speaking, Emily's face reflected astonishment.
The issues Gianna pointed out were ones her mentor had previously mentioned, with detailed suggestions for improvement!
Now, Emily truly believed in Gianna's expertise.
"Ms. Redstone, although I haven't led a project before, I will work hard!"
"Alright, I will assign you an assistant and a few designers. Your team will handle the sketches, while Faith will coordinate with other colleagues," said Gianna.
"Understood!"
After Emily left, Gianna worked for a while before feeling a sudden cramp in her stomach.
Checking the date, she realized it was time for her period.
Taking a painkiller from the drawer, she continued to review the documents.
However, this time, the pain was more severe than usual. The painkiller had no effect, and her discomfort only intensified, making it difficult to focus on the documents.
She gritted her teeth and persevered through the morning. Just as she was about to take a break at noon, Faith came to find her and was shocked by her appearance.
"Gianna, what's wrong? Why do you look so pale?" Faith asked.
Clutching her stomach, Gianna gritted her teeth. "Period cramps. It's like this almost every month, but I don't know why it's so severe this time."
Seeing Gianna in pain and sweating, Faith hurriedly said, "Let me take you to the hospital. You can't continue like this."
"Okay."
With Faith's support, Gianna got up and left the office.
While waiting for the elevator, Gianna suddenly felt dizzy and promptly lost consciousness.
When she woke up again, she found herself with an IV drip in her hand, feeling a warm sensation on her stomach as if she had a heating pad on. The pain had subsided significantly.
"Are you awake? Does your stomach still hurt?"
Gianna turned her head and looked at Felix in surprise. "How did you get here?"
"I called you, but Faith answered and told me you had fainted. I came over immediately."
Seeing Felix's concern, Gianna pursed her lips and lowered her gaze. "Your company must be busy. Go back. My stomach is much better now. I'll return to the office after the IV drip is finished."
Before she could finish speaking, Felix's displeased voice sounded in her ear.
"Your stomach is in such pain, and you still plan to go back to work? After the IV drip is done, I'll take you back to the villa. You're staying home to rest today!"
Looking at Felix's determined expression, Gianna furrowed her brow.
"No, I have several contracts to review today. I must deal with them by tomorrow."
