Chapter 368

Constance's face went blank for a second before she looked at him and said, "Don't talk with your mouth full."

After finishing the pasta, Constance debated whether to wash the dishes. Felix had cooked, so it felt wrong to make him clean up too.

But Felix didn't give her a chance to decide. He grabbed the bowls and headed to the kitchen. "Go upstairs and take a shower. The bedroom's the first door on the left."

Constance pressed her lips together. "Okay."

She went upstairs and opened the bedroom door. The scent of pine wood hit her, and she realized it was Felix's room. Thinking about living together for the next three months, she felt a weird, indescribable feeling.

She had forgotten all those past memories, so Felix was just a stranger to her now. Suddenly living with a stranger, and in the same room, was something she couldn't accept immediately, no matter how strong-willed she was.

After hesitating for a moment, she walked in.

Felix's bedroom decor was almost identical to the living room, with a simple black and white color scheme that felt both dull and oppressive.

When she was about to take a shower, Constance finally remembered that she hadn't brought any clothes.

She called Mira and said in a low voice, "Mira, can you send some clothes to Golden Bay Villas? I won't be coming back for a while."

Mira was stunned for a moment and immediately told Eliza about it.

Eliza called Constance, "Constance, why did you ask Mira to send you clothes? Is Felix forcing you to stay there? Don't worry. I'll get you back within a week!"

Because Eliza had cried earlier, her voice was a bit hoarse but firm, as if she had made some kind of decision.

Sensing Eliza's unusual emotion, Constance quickly said, "Mom, no, I made an agreement with him. We'll live together for three months. If I still don't like him after three months, we'll get a divorce."

Eliza gritted her teeth and said angrily, "He must be lying to you. You can't believe him!"

"Mom, it's true. I've already had a lawyer come over, and we've signed the divorce agreement. It will automatically take effect after three months."

After a long silence, Eliza said in disbelief, "Are you serious?"

Constance replied, "Yes, even if you don't trust him, can't you trust me?"

Eliza's eyes softened with worry. "As long as you're with him, I won't be at ease. I'm afraid he'll hurt you."

Constance smiled. "Mom, don't forget I'm quite capable. There aren't many people in Thundertop who can hurt me."

Eliza sighed, her concern still evident. "But I'm still worried."

Constance comforted her, "Don't worry about me. It's just three months. After that, I'll have nothing to do with him. This deal is worth it. And during these three months, you can call me anytime, and I'll come back to see you."

After Constance's persuasion, Eliza gradually accepted the fact and finally nodded. "Alright, but Constance, you still can't let your guard down. Be careful around him."

"Okay, I know. Remember to have Mira send me the clothes."

After hanging up, Eliza's eyes reddened again. Turning to Mira, she said, "Mira, come with me to Constance's room to pack her clothes."

Eliza was not at ease letting Constance stay with Felix for three months, but there seemed to be no other way now. She just hoped these three months would pass peacefully and that Constance wouldn't continue to be entangled with Felix.

By the time Mira delivered the clothes to Felix's villa, it was already past ten at night.

Standing at the door, Mira glanced inside and said worriedly, "Constance, how about I move in to take care of you for these three months?"

Seeing the concern in Mira's eyes, Constance felt a warmth in her heart and said softly, "No need. It's already late. You should go back. I'll visit you when I have time."

"Alright, but if you need me, call me anytime."

"Okay."

After Mira left, Constance was about to carry her suitcase upstairs when a slender hand grabbed it first.

Felix said, "I'll carry it up for you."

Constance turned to look at him and silently followed behind. She thought, 'He's really tall. I'm almost 5'7", but my head only reaches his shoulder. He must be over 6'1". His broad shoulders give off a sense of security.'

Realizing what she was thinking, Constance snapped back to reality, her face turning a bit grim. She mentally chided herself, 'Is it because I haven't been around men for too long that I'm daydreaming just from seeing a man's back? I need to find an opportunity to let Rebecca take me out to relax. Otherwise, I might find myself falling for Felix.'

After putting down the suitcase, Felix turned to Constance and said, "You take a shower first. Call me when you're done; I'll be downstairs."

"Okay, where are the toiletries?"

Compared to when they signed the agreement, Constance now felt truly awkward and at a loss. After all, in her memory, she had never been this close to any man.

Seeing the embarrassment in her eyes, Felix chuckled, "The first drawer under the sink."

"Got it."

After Felix left, Constance opened her suitcase and put her clothes in the wardrobe.

The wardrobe, which originally only had black, white, and gray, was instantly filled with bright colors. Looking at their distinctly different clothes, Constance felt a subtle emotion brewing inside her.

She took a deep breath, silently telling herself, 'Don't overthink it. Three months will pass quickly, and we will be nothing but strangers afterward. I just need to get through these three months.'

Taking her pajamas, Constance went into the bathroom to shower. She found that the shampoo and body wash were her favorite brands, which surprised her. But then she remembered that she and Felix used to be married, so it wasn't that strange.

After showering and drying her hair, she went downstairs to tell Felix she was done. Felix was reading a document. Hearing her footsteps, he looked up and froze.

Constance was wearing a round-neck nightgown that almost reached her ankles. Even though the nightgown was loose, it was clear she had a great figure. Her skin was flawless, and her long curly hair cascaded down her sides. Even without makeup, she was incredibly alluring.

His breath tightened, and he coughed lightly to cover his lapse. "You're done?"

"Yes, Mr. Clinton, when are you going to..."

Before she could finish, Felix interrupted, "Call me Felix from now on."

Constance frowned. "But I'm used to calling you Mr. Clinton."

"Then get used to it again. Don't forget that for these three months, we're a normal married couple."

Seeing his serious expression, Constance took a deep breath and said slowly, "Felix."

"That's better." A smile flickered in Felix's eyes as he stood up. "I'm going to take a shower."

"Okay, I'm a bit tired today, so I'll go to bed soon," Constance said, her voice tinged with nervous.

Seeing the awkwardness in her eyes, Felix's heart softened. He looked down at her and said, "Don't worry. I won't touch you unless you agree."

They were standing very close. The scent of her freshly showered body lingered in his nose, making his body tense involuntarily.

Felix wanted to hold Constance, but he was afraid of scaring her. Given her current wariness of him, if he dared to hug her, she probably wouldn't share a room with him for the next three months.

Constance's face reddened, and she said with forced calm, "Okay, I'll go upstairs now." With that, she turned and quickly left.

Seeing her red ears, Felix couldn't help but smile and thought that Constance was truly adorable.
