Chapter 266
Ximena shot Felix a look of pure disbelief and snapped, "Did you see how Gianna acted just now? She totally bombed compared to Bella. Can't I even say that?"
Felix, looking totally unfazed, replied slowly, "Gianna's my girlfriend, not your servant."
With that, Felix turned and walked away.
Ximena was fuming, her anger boiling over.
As Felix was about to leave, she couldn't hold it in any longer and yelled, "Wait! I need to tell you something!"
Felix turned back, his face blank, "What?"
Ximena took a deep breath, trying to calm herself, and said, "About Jesse and Maria's car accident, you should look for a guy named William. He used to work for your dad."
Felix, still indifferent, replied, "I've already found William and brought him back, but he's lost his mind and can't tell us anything."
"He had a sister who worked for our family. She got sick a year ago and went back to her hometown. Maybe she knows something."
Felix nodded, "Got it. Take care."
Leaving the hospital room, he saw Gianna standing nearby, looking lost in thought. Felix quickly walked over.
"Gianna, I'm sorry for what happened today. I'll make sure you don't have to deal with my mom again."
Gianna looked up, saw the guilt in Felix's eyes, and shook her head, "It's fine."
In her mind, she figured she wouldn't have to see Ximena much in the future, and even if she did, she wouldn't let Ximena walk all over her again.
"Let's head back. My mom just told me that the butler of the Clinton Mansion is William's sister. I plan to ask her if she knows anything about what happened back then," Felix said.
"Want me to come with you?" Gianna asked.
"No need. She lives in a small village in Aetheria. James and I will go, and we'll be back in three days tops," Felix replied.
"Okay, when are you leaving?" Gianna continued.
"Tomorrow," Felix said.
The next morning, after breakfast, Felix headed straight to the airport.
Meanwhile, in a villa on the west side of Thundertop, Thomas, wrapped in bandages, slowly opened his eyes.
He tried to sit up, but the pain almost knocked him out again.
Seeing he was awake, the servant quickly went to inform Mr. Moore.
Soon, Mr. Moore entered the room with his men.
Thomas, his voice hoarse, asked, "Mr. Moore, did you save me?"
Mr. Moore's face was icy, and he didn't say a word.
One of his men snorted, looking down on Thomas, "If it weren't for Mr. Moore, you'd be dead! Pull another stunt like that, and Mr. Moore won't have to deal with you; I'll take you out myself!"
"And the Clinton Group..."
"Forget the Clinton Group! Because of your screw-up, NightShadow's influence in Dawnridge is gone, thanks to Felix. All your crimes have been handed over to the cops, and now you're wanted worldwide. You're only alive because Mr. Moore saved you!"
Thomas was in shock, quickly turning to despair.
The Clinton Group, Harmony Garden, he had nothing, and he hadn't even avenged his parents!
Thinking of this, Thomas's hatred for Felix grew even stronger. If it weren't for him, he wouldn't be in this mess!
Seeing the fire in Thomas's eyes, Mr. Moore spoke coldly, "Recover first. There will be plenty of chances for revenge later!"
After that, Mr. Moore left with his crew.
Thomas's eyes burned with hatred, and he silently vowed to make Felix pay.
The pain and humiliation he suffered, Felix would feel it all!
Three days later, Felix came back with a video and handed it straight to the cops. Soon enough, they uncovered the truth about Jesse and Maria's car accident.
Six years ago, Jesse ticked off some gangsters in Dawnridge because of work. They bribed William, who had been booted from the Clinton Group for bad behavior, to mess with Jesse and Maria's car, causing the accident and framing Connor.
Since William was one of Connor's guys, it was easy for him to get Connor's fingerprints, which matched what Thomas knew about the prints on the brake pads.
William, scared of payback, secretly recorded the deal and gave the recording to his sister before skipping town with the cash.
After two years on the run, he got found. Knowing about the recording, his pursuers tortured him to get its location, but William never spilled and eventually went nuts.
The craziest part? The gangster Jesse pissed off back then was now a big shot in NightShadow.
So, not only did Thomas go after the wrong guy, but he had also been working for the very people who killed his parents!
When Natalie found out, she fainted from crying.
She always thought Jesse and Maria's accident was just that—an accident. She never imagined they were murdered.
Gianna quickly called a doctor to check on Natalie. Finding out she had fainted from emotional stress, Gianna finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After getting Natalie settled, she looked at Felix and asked, "What's the plan now?"
Felix's face was cold, "Thomas almost killed my grandma and mom, drained the Clinton Group's funds, and locked them in the basement. Each of those is enough to put him away. I'm not letting him off the hook!"
Felix had already handed this evidence to the cops the day Thomas vanished, and now there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Gianna nodded, "Yeah, the Clinton Group's been a mess because of him, losing big deals. You've got a lot to fix after taking over again. As for Thomas, once the cops nab him, he'll get what's coming."
Half a month later, on the day Felix officially took over the Clinton Group, he held a press conference to spill the truth about Jesse and Maria's car accident. He also made it clear that Thomas's actions had nothing to do with the Clinton family and that Thomas's shares would be used to cover the funds he stole from the Clinton Group.
Felix's return finally steadied the shaky stock prices, and the other shareholders, who had long been fed up with Thomas, welcomed Felix back with open arms.
After all, during this time, Thomas hadn't been managing the Clinton Group, causing it to lose several major deals.
In the next six months, Thomas seemed to have vanished. Despite the cops' efforts, they couldn't find a trace of him.
Under Felix's leadership, the Clinton Group grew stronger, even surpassing its previous heights before Thomas took over.
Gianna and Felix's relationship got closer, though neither brought up remarriage.
One Friday evening, Natalie invited Gianna over for dinner.
During the meal, she finally couldn't hold back and asked, "Gianna, when are you and Felix planning to remarry?"
