Chapter 326
Gianna shook her head. "I know Felix had you these past few days. He didn't mess with you, did he?"
Naomi's eyes went wide, and she took a couple steps back. "How do you know?"
Gianna sighed. "You haven't been to the office, and I couldn't get ahold of you. So, I had someone check it out and found out Felix's crew had you. I was gonna bust you out last night, but Felix said he'd let you go this morning, so I backed off."
Seeing Naomi looked okay, Gianna finally relaxed.
Naomi bit her lip, thinking, 'No way I'm talking about that nightmare.'
"Mr. Clinton didn't do anything to me."
Gianna nodded. "Good. By the way, I heard your brother pushed Felix's mom into traffic, causing her accident. Did you know about that?"
Naomi was quiet for a bit, then nodded. "Yeah, I heard. Haven't seen him in years, didn't think he'd do something like that. But I heard someone from the Forbes family in Thundertop put him up to it."
Gianna frowned. She'd heard of the Forbes family back in Thundertop. They were one of the big eight families, known for being ruthless, crushing competitors until they went bankrupt or worse.
They had taken down at least ten families, so their rep in Thundertop wasn't great. But that didn't hurt their power.
In Thundertop, nobody messed with them lightly.
Suddenly, Gianna remembered what Felix had said about the secret key. 'Could the Forbes family be after Ximena for the key?' Her face changed at the thought.
Naomi noticed and quickly asked, "Ms. Redstone, you okay?"
Gianna shook it off. "I'm fine. You must be shaken up. Take a week off to rest and recover before coming back."
"Okay, thanks, Ms. Redstone."
Gianna added, "Call me if you need anything."
After leaving Naomi's place, Gianna drove straight to the Clinton Group to find Felix, only to hear he was at the hospital with Ximena.
At the hospital...
Ximena was sitting on the bed, still looking a bit pale.
Felix stood by, listening to the doctor's instructions.
Watching him, Ximena's mind drifted to the messages on her phone. Every day, the same message from the same person.
At first, she ignored it, but over time, she couldn't help but wonder if Felix really wasn't her son.
"Mr. Clinton, that's all."
Felix nodded. "Got it. Thanks."
After the doctor left, Felix turned to Ximena. "Mom, you feeling okay?"
Ximena replied, "I'm fine. If you're busy, you don't need to stay. The nurse can handle it."
"Okay, I'll get you some porridge. Doctor said you need liquid food before discharge."
After Felix left, Ximena picked up her phone and dialed the number that had been sending her messages.
The call connected quickly. Before the other person could speak, Ximena snapped, "Stop sending me messages, or I'll call the cops!"
After a few seconds of silence, a mocking voice came from the other end, "If you really had no doubts, you wouldn't have called. You'd have gone straight to the cops."
Ximena's grip on the phone tightened, and she gritted her teeth. "You say Felix isn't my son. Got any proof?"
"Of course, but you'll have to find it yourself."
"What do you mean?" Ximena asked.
"You're his mom. He won't suspect you. Just get some of his hair or something. Take it to a testing agency, and you'll know if he's really your kid."
With that, the other person hung up.
Ximena clutched the phone, her eyes full of turmoil.
After a long while, a determined look slowly appeared in her eyes. Whether that person was lying or not, she had to do a paternity test to put her mind at ease!
When Felix got back to the ward, Ximena had already calmed down.
While sipping porridge, Ximena casually said, "You're living alone in Tranquil Haven Estate now. Anyone taking care of you?"
Felix's eyes flashed with surprise. "No. Why the sudden concern?"
Ximena replied, "I know you. Once you get busy, you forget to eat. I'll have Cherie cook for you and clean the house."
Felix frowned. "No need. I hired a housekeeper."
"A housekeeper can't be as attentive as the Clinton family's staff. Cherie is great at cooking. You used to love her roasted chicken wings. It's settled."
Felix wanted to refuse, but seeing Ximena still recovering and not wanting to argue over something so small, he nodded. "Okay."
"Alright, go to work. There's nothing much here," Ximena said.
"Okay."
After sending Felix away, Ximena immediately called Cherie and instructed her to get Felix's hair or toothbrush.
Cherie acted quickly. In less than two hours, she brought the items to the hospital.
Ximena found a trusted doctor and handed over the hair for a paternity test without using her or Felix's name.
After the doctor left, Cherie said gravely, "Mrs. Clinton, do you suspect Felix isn't your child?"
Ximena shook her head. "Recently, a lunatic has been sending me messages saying Felix isn't my child. I thought I might as well do a paternity test to put my mind at ease."
Cherie said, "I was there when you gave birth. Felix is definitely your son, and he looks a lot like Mr. Clinton. How could he not be a Clinton?"
"I know. I just want peace of mind."
Cherie sighed and said no more.
Felix had just arrived at the Clinton Group's entrance when he saw Gianna waiting there.
He frowned and said coldly, "Naomi's been released. Do you still have something to say?"
Seeing the indifference and distance in Felix's eyes, Gianna frowned. Last night, he had held her tightly, unwilling to let go. But today, he acted like he didn't want to see her. Felix changed too quickly.
Gianna asked, "I came to ask you, did Naomi's brother push your mom onto the road because of the key?"
"This has nothing to do with you. Don't come looking for me again. I won't see you." Felix's attitude was cold. After speaking, he turned to leave.
Gianna grabbed his hand and gritted her teeth. "Felix, you were the one who told me about the key. But now you tell me not to get involved. Do you think that's possible?"
