Chapter 424

"But didn't you just say you couldn't meet Christopher? Maybe I have a way," Constance said.

Timothy frowned, "What way? Do you know Christopher?"

Constance pursed her lips, nodded, and said, "Yes, but I can only try. Whether he wants to see you or not, I can't be sure."

Just as Timothy was about to speak, Felix's cold voice sounded beside them. "No way!"

Constance looked at him in confusion. "Why? I want to help you."

Although she didn't know why they were looking for Christopher, she knew Christopher's temper well enough to know he wouldn't easily meet people he didn't want to see.

"I don't want you to get involved in this. I'll find a way to make Christopher agree to see me," Felix said.

The forces behind Thomas were after the key. If Constance got involved, she would definitely be in danger.

After what happened three years ago, he never wanted her to face any danger again.

"If I don't help, Christopher won't see you," Constance replied.

"That's my problem." Then Felix turned to Timothy. "Mr. Drake, it's late, let me see you out."

Timothy glanced at Constance and said slowly, "Constance, since Mr. Clinton doesn't want you to help, you should stay out of this."

Constance nodded. "Okay, I understand."

Seeing Timothy to the door, Felix said in a deep voice, "Mr. Drake, you should know that the forces behind Thomas are very dangerous. I don't want Constance to be in danger, so please don't mention anything about Christopher in front of her again."

Timothy, who had been somewhat dissatisfied with Felix, now saw that he cherished Constance and nodded. "Alright, I understand. Constance is my daughter, and I don't want her to be in any danger either."

After sending Timothy off, Felix returned to the villa and saw Constance sitting on the sofa, looking up at him with something to say.

"Felix, are you sure you don't want my help?" she asked.

Felix's eyes instantly deepened, and he said in a low voice, "Yes, and don't ask Mr. Drake about it. I'll handle this myself."

Seeing this, Constance had no choice but to nod. "Alright then."

"What did you buy while shopping today?"

Constance smiled and handed the shopping bag to Felix. "This is your birthday gift. Try it on and see if it fits. If it doesn't, I'll exchange it tomorrow."

A hint of surprise flashed in Felix's eyes. "It's not my birthday yet."

"It's just a few days away. Go try on the suit!"

Seeing the anticipation in Constance's eyes, Felix's eyes softened. "Alright."

Five minutes later, Felix came out wearing the suit.

Constance turned to look at him, satisfaction flashing in her eyes.

The gray suit made Felix look less cold and more approachable.

And he was tall and well-built, comparable to a model in a magazine.

Constance stood up and adjusted his collar, smiling. "If you ever don't want to be the president of the Clinton Group, you could consider being a magazine cover model."

Felix lowered his eyes and saw her slender hand smoothing out the wrinkles on his shirt.

He held her hand and said softly, "The suit fits perfectly. I like it very much, Constance. Thank you!"

Feeling the warmth of his palm, Constance's face turned red, and her heartbeat quickened. "You're welcome. Let go of me now."

However, as soon as she finished speaking, Felix not only didn't let go of her hand but also wrapped his other hand around her waist, lowering his head to kiss her.

His scent surrounded her, giving her a sense of peace and tranquility.

Constance closed her eyes and responded to him clumsily.

Sensing her lack of resistance, Felix's hand on her waist tightened, and their kiss grew more intense.

Gradually, he was no longer satisfied with just kissing. He picked Constance up and laid her on the sofa, pressing his body against hers.

The atmosphere in the living room grew increasingly intimate, and their breaths became more rapid. His large hand on her waist was hot and burning.

Suddenly, a phone ringing interrupted them.

Constance opened her misty eyes and said to Felix, "There's a call."

Felix's eyes, filled with desire, stared at her. Her eyes were glistening, and her lips were slightly swollen, making him unable to stop.

"Ignore it." With that, Felix continued to kiss her, but the phone kept ringing.

After another kiss, Constance, holding onto the last bit of rationality, pushed him away and sat up. "You should answer it. It might be something important."

"Alright."

Felix picked up the phone and saw it was James. He answered it directly. "What is it?"

"Mr. Clinton, an employee committed suicide at the office!"

Felix's face instantly turned extremely serious, and he said coldly, "Call the police immediately. I'll be there right away!"

"Okay."

Seeing Felix's grim expression, Constance asked, "What happened?"

"There's an issue at the company. I need to go. You should go to bed early tonight. Don't wait up for me." After saying that, Felix kissed her forehead and quickly left, not even changing his clothes.

Constance pursed her lips, unconsciously clutching the hem of her dress, feeling a sense of unease.

She waited for Felix until after midnight, but he still hadn't returned. Constance finally fell asleep in a daze.

Even in her sleep, she had several nightmares and woke up before six in the morning.

Unable to sleep, Constance got up, washed up, and went downstairs to make breakfast.

Halfway through, she received a call from Rebecca.

"Constance, has Felix been detained?" Rebecca asked.

Constance was stunned for a moment, and the knife in her hand cut her finger, causing blood to flow.

A wave of pain hit her, but she didn't have the mind to deal with the wound. She quickly asked, "Did you say Felix was detained? What happened?"

"Didn't Felix tell you? An employee at the Clinton Group committed suicide at her desk and left a note saying Felix sexually harassed her several times. She didn't dare to resign or refuse Felix, so she became depressed and eventually couldn't take it anymore and committed suicide."

Constance's face darkened, and she said coldly, "He's not that kind of person!"

"I believe you, but people online are calling Felix a pervert and cursing him to die soon!"

Constance finally understood where her unease from last night came from. She took a deep breath and said in a low voice, "I need to find out more about this. I'll talk to you later!"
