Chapter 412
Constance couldn't help but laugh. "No, you're much more important than him."
Rebecca snorted, "I don't believe that!"
"Alright, let's not talk about this. What do you want for dinner tonight? It's on me."
Rebecca smiled. "That's more like it. I won't forgive you without a seafood feast."
"Okay, anything you want."
After dinner, as they were about to go shopping, Felix called. "Constance, have you finished eating? Do you want me to pick you up?"
"No need, my good friend will take me back later."
"Alright, come back early. I'll be waiting for you."
Constance's heart fluttered with a feeling of joy. "Okay."
She hung up the phone and looked up to see Rebecca's teasing gaze.
"Talking to Felix?" Rebecca asked.
"Yeah." Constance tried to act calm as she put away her phone. "He asked when I'll be back."
"Seeing that lovestruck look on your face, I can tell you really have feelings for Felix."
Constance bit her lip. "Is it that obvious?"
"Why don't you look in the mirror? You look totally smitten."
Constance shyly changed the subject. "Alright, weren't we going to the mall? Let's go before it closes."
"Let's go pick out a birthday gift for Felix."
Hearing the teasing in Rebecca's voice, Constance couldn't help but glare at her, her face turning even redder.
They walked into the mall, and the first store they saw was a men's clothing store. Rebecca pulled Constance inside..
"Let's pick out your clothes first Getting a gift for Felix is just a side task."
Rebecca dragged out her words. "Is it really just a side task?"
Constance glared at her. "Rebecca, are you doing this on purpose?"
Seeing that she was really angry, Rebecca stopped teasing and said, "The designs of these clothes are really good, and many people in Thundertop like them. Since we're here, let's take a look. Do you know Felix's size?"
Constance bit her lip and thought for a few seconds. "He's about 6'1", not sure about his weight, but I can guess his size."
Rebecca covered her mouth and laughed. "Did you guess it in bed?"
Constance's face turned red, and she said, "I think you've been single for too long, so your mind is full of these things. Should I ask Mr. Wood to introduce you to some dates?"
"No, please!" Rebecca quickly made a pleading gesture. "Spare me. You know my dad's taste. He's good at business, but when it comes to setting me up, he picks the worst guys."
Constance remembered when they were studying abroad, Rebecca went on a date with a guy whose personality was just awful.
On the way back to the apartment, Constance couldn't help but ask Rebecca if she was really his biological daughter.
Later, she found out that because Rebecca refused to date, Elijah Wood got anxious and made her meet anyone who wanted to set her up.
His idea was that if one didn't work, eventually someone would.
Rebecca did meet some decent guys, but she wasn't interested in dating. After a few dates, it would just fizzle out.
"Looks like you're really not interested in men. All you think about is your career."
Rebecca glanced at her and raised an eyebrow. "What good are men? Men can betray me, but the money I make won't."
Constance couldn't help but shake her head with a smile and dropped the topic.
A store clerk saw them and immediately came over. "Good evening, ladies. Can I help you with anything?"
Rebecca smiled. "Don't mind us. We'll just look around. We'll call you if we need anything."
"Alright."
After the clerk left, another clerk sneered, "Some people just don't know their place. Look at those two women. Do they look like they can afford anything here?"
"Bessie Palmer, the manager said that anyone who comes in is a customer. Whether they buy or not, we have to do our job."
Bessie looked disdainful. "Suit yourself. If you like serving poor people, go ahead. Just don't bother me."
With that, Bessie walked away quickly.
Their conversation was loud enough for Constance and Rebecca to hear.
Rebecca frowned. "How did the staff quality get so bad after a few years?"
Constance looked at their clothes and smiled, "We do look like we can't afford to shop here."
Both Constance and Rebecca dressed for comfort, mostly in custom-made clothes without logos, unlike recognizable big-name brands.
Rebecca snorted, "I'll buy ten outfits later just to piss off that clerk."
Constance didn't take her seriously and was drawn to a silver-gray suit in the middle of the store.
Rebecca followed her gaze and was also impressed. "This suit would be perfect for Mr. Clinton. He'll love it if you give it to him!"
Constance bit her lip and walked over to the suit, about to speak when a familiar female voice sounded behind her. "Please wrap up this suit for me."
Rebecca turned around and saw Bella, whose face looked almost identical to Constance's, and was surprised.
"Constance, is this the sister you told me about, the one who keeps getting plastic surgery to look just like you?" Rebecca asked.
Rebecca had no good feelings towards Bella and disliked her even more seeing her arrogant expression.
Before Constance could speak, Bella said coldly, "Constance, what lies have you been spreading? We're twins, so of course we look alike. When did I ever try to look exactly like you?"
Facing her angry eyes, Constance calmly said, "You didn't? Should I post your plastic surgery records online so you won't be so stubborn?"
Bella was furious and sneered, "Forget it. I'm not wasting my breath on you. Soon, you'll be looking up to me, and I'll crush you under my feet."
"I'll be waiting."
Constance's indifferent expression made Bella feel powerless, and her face turned even uglier.
Bella gritted her teeth. "Keep being smug. You won't be for long!"
