Chapter 253

While they were plotting to get rid of Felix, there was a knock on the office door.

Jason walked in, looking serious.

"Mr. Clinton, Felix brought William back from abroad. He's at Tranquil Minds Psychiatric Hospital now!"

After Gianna mentioned William, Thomas had his team look for him, but Felix found him first.

Thomas didn't think Felix wanted the truth from William. He figured Felix wanted to control William to stop him from finding evidence that Connor ordered William to kill his parents.

But Thomas didn't care if William was involved or not.

This guy had to pay for what he did!

Thomas said, "Send someone to kill William. Make it clean."

Jason nodded, "Yes!"

Seeing Jason still there, Thomas frowned, "Anything else?"

Jason nodded, "I looked into Mr. Hughes. Didn't find much, but I set a trap. We've got enough to send him to jail."

Thomas smirked, "Good job. Give the evidence to the police. I don't want to see him at Clinton Group again."

"Got it, Thomas."

After Jason left, Thomas made a call.

"BOSS, Felix is messing up our plans. I want to kill him."

Whatever was said on the other end made Thomas's face darken, and he gripped the phone tighter.

"You promised to avenge my parents. This's why I agreed to work for you. Are you backing out now?"

The other side didn't answer and hung up.

Thomas threw his phone, shattering it.

It was clear his plan to kill Felix was rejected.

Thomas took a deep breath to calm down. He still needed the other party for now. Only after dealing with Connor and Felix could he control the Clinton Group.

Then, he could slowly break free from their control.

After the Astor family went bankrupt, the Foster family lost several partnerships due to funding issues, almost going bankrupt, too.

These two families, once set to become second-tier in Dawnridge, were now not even third-tier and heavily in debt.

Astor senior, after hearing Ivy emptied his safe, was so furious he became paralyzed, relying on servants for everything.

But because he refused to give Rhodes the company and villa, Rhodes treated him poorly, and the servants mistreated Astor senior, making his life miserable.

After dealing with the Astor and Foster families, Gianna returned to MY FASHION, and Felix went back to the Clinton Group.

The hospital reported William's condition was stabilizing, and it seemed that things were looking up.

But just two days after Felix returned to the Clinton Group, Mr. Hughes was taken by the police.

News of Mr. Hughes's illegal fundraising spread like wildfire throughout Dawnridge, putting the Clinton Group in the spotlight again.

Felix quickly found out Thomas exposed Mr. Hughes, and the so-called illegal fundraising was likely schemed by Thomas. Mr. Hughes was too cautious to do such a thing.

With this in mind, Felix went straight to Thomas.

Felix asked, "Did you do this to Mr. Hughes?"

Though it was phrased as a question, Felix's tone was certain, and his gaze was cold.

Thomas smirked aggressively, "So what if I did? If you have proof, you should be at the police station, not here."

Felix glared at him, "Since you took over the company, the stock price has been tanking. Keep this up, and you'll ruin the Clinton Group!"

Thomas's eyes narrowed, "Felix, you have no right to lecture me. The Clinton Group was always mine. You just managed it for a few years. Do you really think you own it?"

"You don't deserve this position!"

"That's not for you to decide. If you think you can, beat me in the next election. But with your 10% and Natalie's 30%, you don't stand a chance."

Felix sneered, "You think the other shareholders will vote for you?"

Thomas looked calm and said slowly, "By then, everyone will know your parents killed mine. Do you think any shareholder will vote for you? If the president got his position by killing his uncle and aunt, he'd be boycotted by everyone, right?"

Felix said nothing and left.

He didn't go back to his office but headed to the police station.

After several interrogations, Mr. Hughes realized Thomas had framed him.

Seeing Felix, he became agitated.

"Mr. Clinton, I'm innocent. Thomas framed me! He hates me for joining other shareholders to force him to let you return to the Clinton Group. He schemed me! Mr. Clinton, I did it all for you. You must save me!"

Felix looked at him coldly, "Mr. Hughes, you did it for yourself, not for me."

A guilty look flashed in Mr. Hughes's eyes, and he quickly denied it, "Mr. Clinton, what do you mean? I don't understand!"

"If you don't understand, there's no need to continue this conversation." Felix stood up to leave.

Panicking, Mr. Hughes quickly said, "Mr. Clinton, I was confused when I plotted against you. If you save me, I'll follow your lead and never betray you again!"

"Really?" Felix's tone was indifferent.

"Really, I promise! Mr. Clinton, only you can save me now!"

Felix was silent for a few seconds, contemplating.

After a full two minutes, Felix looked at Mr. Hughes with a detached expression, "I won't save someone who has no value."

Mr. Hughes's heart raced as he realized Felix had seen through him. But only Felix could save him now.

He gritted his teeth and said, "Mr. Clinton, I secretly recorded some of Thomas's bad decisions and his close interactions with certain company heads. If you save me, I'll give you the notebook."

Felix chuckled, mocking him, "You think I can't find out those things?"

Mr. Hughes's face stiffened. Then, as if making a decision, he gritted his teeth and said, "There's one more thing you definitely can't find out!"

"What?"
